Abstract

Global warming and climate change over the past ten years caused by greenhouse gas emissions are serious problems faced by countries in both developed and developing countries, not least in countries in ASEAN. The relationship of energy consumption, the application of tax burdens, economic growth and its effect on pollution levels are important to be investigated further. The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of energy consumption and taxes by mediating economic growth on pollution in nine ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam). This study used time series data from 2004 - 2020 with analytical methods using the PLS-SEM approach and SmartPLS version 3.0 as data analysis tools. The results of the study showed that energy consumption has a positive effect on economic growth and pollution, taxes have a positive effect on economic growth and negatively affect pollution and economic growth has a positive effect on pollution, in addition, economic growth can mediate the relationship between energy consumption and pollution and the relationship between taxes and pollution

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the long-term impacts of health capital on economic growth in Southeast Asia from 2000 – 2021. This study employed the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model to estimate the long-run and short-run nexus among the variables. Furthermore, FMOLS, DOLS and CCR were used for a more robust examination of the empirical findings. The results of this study show that health capital (proxy by health expenditure per capita) has a long-run relationship with economic growth (proxy by GDP per capita) and its impact on economic growth is positive and significant, this implies that an increase in the health expenditure per capita will increase GDP per capita. In addition, the error correction term (ECT) estimation result is negative and significant (-1,395) implying disequilibrium of short-term shocks in the previous year will experience a long-term balance adjustment in the current year with average speed of 139,5% per year

This study aims to determine the effect of product quality and service quality on purchasing decisions at Rabindo Tama Trading Company. This method uses a quantitative approach with saturated sampling techniques, the number of samples used is 100 respondents. Then analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis, the coefficient of determination, t test and F test. The results of the research variable product quality and service quality have a partially significant influence on purchasing decisions by showing the value of product quality variables on purchases of 0.000 <0.05 and quality service to the buyer's decision of 0.000 <0.05. Simultaneously the quality of products and services influences purchasing decisions, as evidenced by F count > F table, or 36.781 > 3.09. Simultaneously the quality of products and services affects purchasing decisions

Abstract

The development of hotel taxes and restaurant taxes in the city of Serang in the last 5 years has shown a decline. In the last 2 years, namely 2022 and 2021, there has been a negative trend, aka a decrease in the percentage of revenue realization. This is not the same as data for 2020, 2019 and 2018, which shows a positive trend in its realization. The research method used is a quantitative method using secondary data obtained from the offices of BAPENDA, BPKAD and DINKOP UKM. This study uses 2 macro and micro approaches, namely the macro approach using trend analysis linked to the realization of annual taxes, then the micro approach uses secondary data originating from DINKOP UKM on the basis of calculating multiplying the estimated annual turnover of the taxpayer against the effective tax rate. The analytical tool used is trend analysis based on the time series method. The results of the study show that based on the macro approach, the potential for hotel tax and restaurant tax revenues is projected to be very large, this is in line with the results of the micro approach. This shows that the two types of taxes make a sizable contribution to regional tax revenues, provided that the realization can proceed properly so that the amount of local tax revenue collected is in accordance with projections.

Abstract

Financial stability is an important part of economic growth. The main objective in this study is to analyze how financial stability (using Bank Z-Score) affects economic growth. The data used is country-level data from five selected countries in the Southeast Asia region (Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand) for the period 2011 – 2021 using the ARDL model approach. The results of this study found strong evidence that financial stability (banking stability) has a positive effect on economic growth for countries in the Southeast Asian region. This study also reveals that it is not only financial stability variables that are important to achieve economic growth but investment and trade openness must also be increased if the country want to achieve the expected economic growth. The positive relationship between investment and trade openness implies that investment and trade openness can be beneficial to economic growth. . Abstract

Marine tourism is one of the tourism sectors with significant potential for development in the province of Banten. However, the development of this sector must be carried out with consideration for the principles of sustainable development. In the context of marine tourism, the assessment of tourism carrying capacity becomes crucial as marine tourist attractions are prone to environmental damage and social issues. Tourism carrying capacity assessment (TCCA) is one approach that can be used to evaluate how many tourists visits a destination can handle without harming the environment or reducing the quality of the tourist experience. TCCA analysis is conducted by considering aspects such as economic facilities, socio-cultural, and ecological environment. This research aims to assess the tourism carrying capacity at Tanjung Lesung Tourism Special Economic Zone as part of sustainable marine tourism development, based on which supporting aspects need to be developed and to determine the coupling coordination among these three aspects. The aspect that needs development is the ecological environmental aspect with a performance level of 8.79%. Meanwhile, the lowest degree of coordination relationship among systems that needs improvement is the relationship between socio-cultural and ecological environmental aspects, with a degree value of 0.64899.

Abstract

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic over the past three years has severely affected the tourism industry, particularly in Banten. The substantial decline in tourist visits is attributed to concerns about various risks. In January 2023, the Indonesian government officially lifted the PPKM (social distancing) regulations, allowing most activities, including tourism, to return to normal. Recognizing this opportunity, it is imperative for all stakeholders to implement effective actions and policies to rejuvenate Indonesian tourism, with a particular focus on Banten. The objective of this study is to investigate the interplay between attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioural control. This research adopts a modified perspective from the theory of planned behaviour to understand tourist revisit intentions to Umang Island, Banten, with the mediating variable being destination image. A non-probability sampling technique was employed, and questionnaires were distributed using an online application (Google Form) to 165 respondents who had previously visited Umang Island. The findings reveal that the modified perspective of the theory of planned behaviour, encompassing attitudes, subjective norms, and perceptions of behavioural control, significantly influences destination image. Additionally, the perception of risk significantly impacts tourists' intentions and attitudes towards returning, while subjective norms and perceptions of behavioural control play a significant role in the intention to revisit. Furthermore, attitudes, subjective norms, and perceptions of behavioural control exert a direct influence on tourists' return visits, with destination image serving as a mediating variable
