Abstract

Rapid technological developments require people to adapt quickly. Those who can adapt quickly are creative individuals. Therefore, schools need to implement learning methods that can enhance students' creativity so they can face extremely rapid technological advancements. One such method is learning with an open-ended approach. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using classroom action research to improve students' creative thinking skills and learning outcomes. The research was conducted at SMA Satya Dharma Balung during the odd semester of 2013-2014. Data were collected from observations during learning, field notes, and interviews. The learning steps with the open-ended approach that can improve students' creative thinking skills are: (1) the teacher presents open-ended problems, (2) students solve the problems individually, (3) students engage in group discussions, and (4) students participate in class discussions. The researcher (teacher) provides sufficient time for students to solve problems individually or in groups, allowing them greater flexibility. The researcher actively involves students in concluding the lesson during class discussions to observe their creative thinking skills. The findings showed an improvement in students' creative thinking skills, with the first cycle scoring 30.02% (fairly good category) and the second cycle scoring 35.42% (fairly good category). Although both cycles fell under the same category, quantitatively, students' creative thinking skills increased from 30.02% to 35.42%. For learning outcomes, both cycles achieved the very good category, with the percentage of students completing their studies at 78.57% in the first cycle and 89.29% in the second cycle. Perkembangan teknologi yang pesat menuntut masyarakat untuk mampu beradaptasi dengan cepat. Orang yang dapat beradaptasi dengan cepat adalah orang yang kreatif. Abstract

The culture of science (hadaroh al-ilm) is built on the foundation of the workings of the reasoning of the burhani, while the fiqh culture (hadaroh al-fiq) is built upon the authority of the text, and philosophical culture (hadaroh al-philosophy) is built upon the coherence of logical arguments. The specialization of rigid Islamic scientists no longer appeals to the generation of contemporary Islamic studies reviewers and thinkers as it requires multi and interdisciplinary to develop and enrich the insights of Islamic science as well as to unravel the exclusiveness, clarity and rigidity of the discipline of religious scholars living within the narrow chambers of epistimology and institutions. The scientific paradigm of each science possessed and a bit of social nuance and its humanity is underestimated, if that is the case then the result is not enrichment and development, at least there are three clusters of epistemology of Islam ie epistemology bayani, irfani and logic burhani is a unique epistemology device in The development of Islamic studies to be used as a reference both by scientists and educational practitioners who are concerned about Islamic religious scholarship.

Abstract

Creative thinking is an essential 21st-century skill that plays a significant role in mathematics learning, especially when students encounter non-routine problems. Unfortunately, learning practices still predominantly use routine questions that emphasize algorithmic procedures, limiting students’ opportunities to develop their creative potential. This study aims to analyze the types of creative thinking students employ when solving non-routine mathematical problems and to describe their cognitive characteristics. Using an exploratory qualitative approach and a case study design, the research involved 108 eighth-grade students, with three representative subjects selected for analysis through written tests and in-depth interviews. The findings reveal variations in students’ creative thinking in solving non-routine math problems. Most (48.15%) are replicative, imitating solutions with limited flexibility; 37.96% are adaptive, adjusting strategies to context; and 13.89% are constructive, creating original solutions independently. This highlights the need for non-routine problems, creativity-based learning, and STEM integration to enhance flexibility, advanced creativity, and contextual analytical skills. The study contributes by demonstrating how non-routine problems and creativity-focused, STEM-integrated learning can cultivate diverse creative thinking types, enhance cognitive flexibility, and foster students’ ability to generate original, contextually informed solutions in mathematics education.

Abstract

In Indonesian society today, binary options have emerged as a new trend that has attracted public attention., as the platform is seen as a quick means of gaining profits. However, the lack of public understanding of the concept and mechanism of such trading is believed to lead to more gambling. This is evidenced by the binary option transaction system which is more similar to a zero-sum game, as well as the results of profits obtained solely based on predictions of the rise and fall of an asset, without having to own the asset being traded. This study aims to analyze the status of binary options as a legitimate investment or even as prohibited gambling from the perspective of maqashid syariah. The method in this study uses a qualitative approach derived from secondary data. The data collection technique used is library research with data analysis techniques are content analysis and induction. The findings of this study are that binary option trading does not meet the characteristics of investment in Islam and contains elements of maysir (speculation) and gharar (uncertainty) which are explicitly prohibited in Islam. So this activity can be categorized as more similar to gambling. From a maqashid perspective, it can be categorized as practices that are contrary to the principle of hifdz al-mal (protection of wealth) which can threaten the benefit and blessing of wealth. Therefore, this study recommends sharia-based education to help people choose the type of investment that is legal, and in accordance with Islamic principles.
