Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning media for motorcycle electrical practices that are valid, practical and effective for use in Motorcycle Technology courses majoring in Automotive Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, Makassar State University. The motorcycle electrical system that was developed consisted of the body's electrical system and the signs and engine ignition systems. The results of media validation by motorcycle media trainer experts stated that the developed media was valid. As well as the results of user (student) assessments and the results of their implementation, the developed media was declared practical. The quasi-experimental results of the control group with the experimental group gave better results than the control group. This indicates that the electric motorbike practice model of the whole model motorbike developed was effectively used for practice in the Motorcycle Technology course at the Department of Automotive Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, Makassar State University.

Abstract

The increasing consumption of corn in Makassar City generates abundant corn cob waste from households and SMEs (UMKM), which potentially pollutes the environment. This community service program aims to address the waste problem while simultaneously creating a sustainable new business opportunity for housewives. The method employed was training and practical demonstration of black ear mushroom cultivation using corn cobs as the growing medium for the BKMT Annisa Hidayah Women's Group in Mannuruki Village, Makassar, on August 23, 2025. The training covered waste potential counseling, growing media formulation, cultivation management, and harvesting methods. The activity was successfully implemented with high enthusiasm. Practical results show that the women were able to yield an initial harvest of 5–6 Kg per batch, which was successfully marketed at prices ranging from Rp35,000–Rp40,000 per Kg through social media. In conclusion, this program is effective in improving skills, creating profitable home-based business opportunities, and providing a positive impact on environmental sustainability by converting waste into a product of economic value.

Abstract

This community empowerment program aims to optimize livestock waste as a source of renewable energy and organic fertilizer at the Bontomarannu Livestock Farmers Group in Batang Village, Bulukumba Regency. The main problems include poor sanitation of cages, unmanaged livestock waste, and high household dependence on expensive and scarce LPG. Activities are carried out through a participatory approach which includes socialization, training, technical assistance, construction of a fixed-dome type biogas installation with a capacity of 4 m³, and the construction of environmentally friendly livestock pens. All infrastructure has been successfully completed and operates optimally. The digester produces 2.5–3.5 hours of gas per day so that it can reduce LPG consumption by 2 cylinders per month. By-products in the form of bioslurry are used to become solid and liquid organic fertilizers, with an initial production of 40-60 kg/month. This program has a positive impact on energy security, improving environmental quality, and agricultural productivity, while
