Abstract

This study aims to describe students’ difficulties in solving the problem solving mathematic problem and its causal factors. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The subject of this research is the students of class VII MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan located in Ranah Pesisir subdistrict with the sample chosen by purposive sampling. Data obtained through tests, interviews and observations. Data validated by triangulation method. The data analysis framework is reviewed from the problem solving steps of understanding problem, problem solving strategy and problem solving result and interpretation of problem solving result (conclusion). Data analysis techniques used in this study is the percentage and data analysis techniques according to Milles and Hubermen for the analysis of difficulty and factors causing the difficulty. The results of data analysis show that, first difficulties experienced by students in understanding the problem that is identifying what is known and asked and make problems in symbol or mathematical model. Second, the students have difficulties in making the settlement strategy because they can not relate the concept to the problem or the ability of the students' mathematical connection is still weak. Third, students have difficulty in calculating the settlement because of difficulties in understanding the concept. Fourth, students who have difficulty in the previous step also have difficulty in interpreting the answers correctly

Abstract

Motivation to learn is important in educational success. Motivation to learn is not only influenced by psychological factors, but also by physical condition, including nutritional intake. More than 50% of MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan students do not eat breakfast before going to school. This has a negative impact on students' physical and psychological readiness, energy, enthusiasm for learning, activeness and persistence in the learning process at school. As an effort to overcome this problem, the Indonesian government has implemented a Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program for school children. This research aims to find out whether there is a relationship between the MBG program and the learning motivation of MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan students. This research uses a quantitative approach with Correlation Analysis and Simple Linear Regression Test. The research population was all MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan students, with samples selected based on stratified random sampling of 30 students. The research results show that there is a strong and significant positive relationship between the MBG Program and student learning motivation with a value of r = 0.912. This means that the better the implementation of the MBG program, the higher the student's learning motivation

Abstract

The use of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in elementary education is growing in line with the demands of 21st-century learning that emphasizes interactive, contextual, and meaningful learning experiences. This study aims to systematically analyze the effect of the use of Augmented Reality-based learning media on the learning process and outcomes of elementary school students in West Sumatra Province using the Joyful Learning approach. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of accredited national journal articles published in the last ten years and relevant to the topics of AR, Joyful Learning, and elementary school education. The results of the study indicate that the use of AR learning media consistently has a positive impact on increasing learning motivation, conceptual understanding, active student involvement, and positive attitudes towards learning, especially when combined with the Joyful Learning approach. In addition, AR can help elementary school students understand abstract concepts through interactive and contextual three-dimensional visualizations. However, several studies also highlight implementation challenges, such as limitations in technological infrastructure and teacher readiness in integrating AR pedagogically.

Abstract

This article discusses the waste management strategy for the Air Dingin River Basin (DAS) in Koto Tangah district, Padang City, using a Community-Based Development Approach. This research is motivated by lack of public awareness regarding environmental proctection particularly regarding waste management. This is evident in the habit of people directly disposing of waste into the river or piling it on the banks of the Air Dingin River Basin in Balai Gadang and Batang Kabung Villages, Koto Tangah District. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of waste, waste management strategies, and formulate appropriate policies for waste management using a community-based development approach. The research findings indicate that residents living along the banks of the Air Dingin River Basin (DAS) in Koto Tangah District, Padang City, generally dispose of waste directly into the river without prior waste separation. The waste characteristics include garbage, street sweeping, dead animals, and household refuse.
