Abstract

This research aimed to describe the students‘ reason in solving theproblem of limit function and comparation between high-ability subject(HS) and medium-ability subject (MS). The instrument in this research wasthe researcher himself as the main instrument guided by the task limitfunction and valid interview guidelines. Data collection was done by taskbasedinterviews. The subjects of the study were V-semester studentsconsisting of 2 students (1 subject is having high ability and 1 subject ishaving medium ability). The research process followed the steps of: (a)formulating the mathematical reasoning indicator in solving the problem oflimit function based on theory, (b) formulating the supporting instrument(task limit function and interviewing guide), (c) taking the research subject,(d) taking the data to tell the students‘ reasoning in solving the limit functiontests (f) conducting analysis of mathematical reasoning data of the studentsin solving the problem of function limit, (g) conducting discussion ofanalysis result, (h) concluding the research results. The result of the researchshowed that 1) the reasoning equation of the high-ability subject (HS) andthe medium ability subject (MS) in solving the function limit problem wasto do inductive reasoning first then perform deductive reasoning, 2)difference of reasoning subject with high ability (HS) medium ability (MS)in solving the problem of function limit was only in terms of mathematicalreasoning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui implementasi pendekatan partisipatory rural appresial pada program pelatihan pengolahan hasil pertanian dan model pemberdayaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain penelitian PRA, lokasi penelitian di Kecamatan Masalle Kabupaten Enrekang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, wawancara dan dokumentasi Subjek penelitian adalah pengelola PKBM, tokoh masyarakat, mitra dan peserta pelatihan. Teknik yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling, analisis data yang digunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan PRA efektif dalam meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat dengan memanfaatkan rumah produksi berbasis teknologi informasi. Model PRA yang diformulasikan dengan pengelola PKBM menemukan bahwa pada tahap refleksi perlu dilakukan monitoring dan evaluasi pada tahap perencanaan dan tindakan agar dapat diketahui output dan outcome dari kegiatan pelatihan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the rural appresial participatory approach in the women's empowerment program at PKBM Rezky Amaliyah and the empowerment model. This study uses a qualitative approach to PRA research design, research locations in the Masalle District, Enrekang Regency. data collection techniques using questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Research subjects are managers of PKBM, community leaders, partners and training participants. The technique used is purposive sampling, analysis the data used is quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the PRA approach was effective in improving the standard of living of the community by utilizing information technology-based production houses. The PRA model formulated with PKBM managers found that at the reflection stage it was necessary to monitor and evaluate at the planning and action stages so that the outputs and outcomes of the activities could be known training.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (research of development). Penelitian ini didesain untuk menghasilkan produk pendidikan berupa model pembelajaran berpikir kritis yang terintegrasi nilai-nilai islami. Model ini menjadi salah satu pedoman bagi guru atau tenaga pengajar untuk membelajarakan siswa berpikir kritis yang terintegrasi nilai-nilai islami. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini, diantaranya; (1) bagaimana karakteristik model pembelajaran untuk berpikir kritis terintegrasi nilai-nilai islami?, (2) bagaimana mengimplementasikan model pembelajaran untuk berpikir kritis terintegrasi nilai-nilai islami?, dan (3) bagaimanakah kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan model pembelajaran untuk berpikir kritis terintegrasi nilai-nilai islami?. Beberapa hasil dalam penelitian ini, diantaranya: Sintak, system social, prinsip reaksi, dan system pendukung. Adapun sintak yang dihasilkan antara lain: mengidentifikasi dan menjustiofikasi konsep, memecahkan masalah, menggeneralisasi dan menganalisis algoritma, dan membuat kesimpulan. Pada awal-awal pelaksanaan uji coba, terdapat beberapa aktivitas siswa yang membutuhkan waktu yang relative lebih lama, diantaranya: cara siswa merespon pertanyaan, memberikan komentar, dan menilai kebenaran jawaban. Namun pada uji coba berikutnya berangsur-angsur membaik hingga semua aktivitas siswa sebagian besar terlaksana/terlaksana seluruhnya. Temuan lain yang berkontribusi dalam penelitian ini, antara lain: keseriusan dan semangat guru mempelajari dan memahami secara detail tekhnis pelaksanaan model pembelajaran, dan adanya kemauan guru melakukan simulasi di kelas yang berbeda sebelum pelaksanaan uji coba pada kelas yang telah tentukan.

Abstract

This study aims to diagnose students' errors in finding the area using integration. Errors can be seen from the student completion steps that are not correct. This type of research is qualitative research. The applied instruments were diagnostic tests and interview guidelines. The subjects consisted of Universitas Muhammadiyah Parepare students from Mathematics Education Study Program. Then, the researchers selected three subjects from 23 subjects that committed various errors. The results showed that the errors were: (1) Conceptual error, (a) substitution errors for the lower bound and upper bound, (b) misunderstanding in drawing the graph of a function. (2) Procedural errors dealing with incorrect calculation operation. (3) Final solution errors dealing with incapability to find the accurate answers based on the questions. Therefore, it is necessary to diagnose errors made by students using integration to calculate the area so that for lecturers, it becomes a reference to minimize errors made by students and find solutions for the mistakes made.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen (eksperimental) dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Tujuan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan efektifitas penggunaan metode problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 5 Parepare. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh Siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 5 Parepare yang tersebar dalam 6 kelas parallel. Sedangkan sampel pada penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan teknik claster random sampling. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII A yang berjumlah 23 siswa dan VII B yang berjumlah 23 siswa tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa tes hasil belajar matematika. Data dianalisis dengan uji Prasyarat yang terdiri atas uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas data. Sedangkan pengujian hipotesisnya menggunakan uji T Independent Sample T-test. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah: 1) hasil pretest untuk kelas eksperimen diperoleh nilai rata-rata yaitu 47,82 dan pada posttest diperoleh nilai rata-rata 78,43; 2) hasil pretest untuk kelas kontrol diperoleh nilai rata-rata yaitu 42,82 dan pada posttest diperoleh nilai rata-rata yaitu 77,56; 3) Dari hasil uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji t di peroleh thitung = 1,96 dan diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,01< 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Oleh karena itu disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan metode problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 5 Parepare. Abstract The experimental design is used in this research with a quantitative approach. The research aimed to describe the Effectiveness of problem-solving methods that effective to improve the learning outcomes of the 7-grade students in SMP Negeri 5 Parepare. The population were all VII grade students of SMP neg 5 Parepare in six parallel classes. Cluster random sampling is used to determine the sample. The samples were 23 students of VII A and 23 students of VII classes in the academic year 2021/2022. the research instrument was a mathematics achievement test. Furthermore, T independent Sample T-Test is used to test the hypothesis. The data is analyzed with normality and homogeneity test. The research found out that 1) the average experimental class pretest score was 47,82 and the post-test was 78,43; 2) the average controlled class pretest score was 42.82 and the post-test was 77,56; 3) based on the hypotheses testing by T-Test, 1,96 score is found, and the significant score was 0,01 < 0.05 which mean the Ho is rejected, and the H1 is accepted which is problem-solving method was effective to improve the learning outcomes of the 7-grade students in SMP Negeri 5 Parepare.

Abstract

Literacy is an important aspect in basic education because it determines learning success at the next level. Literacy is not only limited to reading and writing, but also the ability to understand, process and utilize information. However, low motivation, limitations in utilizing reading materials and supporting learning environments are still obstacles. This service program is an effort to strengthen literacy skills among students at SD Negeri 15 Parepare which is carried out from August to December. This activity aims to strengthen students' literacy skills by creating learning media and mentoring. The media created are literacy trees, reading corners, and library improvements with the program name "Pintu Ilmu". This activity is complemented by mentoring students and optimizing the library through the "Jelajah Pustaka" and "Literacy Development" programs. Evaluation was carried out using pretest and posttest to measure the average increase in students' literacy skills from 51.84 to 68.95. These results prove that the media-based and mentoring literacy strengthening program is effective in improving the literacy skills of elementary school students.

Abstract

Mathematical reasoning ability is one of the essential competencies that need to be developed in 21st-century mathematics learning. However, the results of preliminary studies indicate that this ability is still in the moderate category, with the main weakness in the aspect of mathematical manipulation. This study aims to analyze the impact of the use of interactive digital media on improving students' mathematical reasoning abilities, as well as identifying the most affected indicators. The study used a pre-test - post-test design with a population of six sixth-semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, Universitas Muhammadiyah Pare-pare. The research instrument was a descriptive test designed to measure three indicators of mathematical reasoning, namely proposing conjectures, presenting mathematical statements, and performing mathematical manipulation. The results of the descriptive analysis showed an increase in the average score from 58.33 (medium category) in the pre-test to 80.09 (high category) in the post-test, with a normalized gain of 0.52 which is in the medium category. The decrease in the standard deviation from 7.86 to 5.67 indicates that student achievement became more homogeneous after the treatment. Analysis per indicator showed that the largest increase occurred in the indicator of proposing conjectures (27.78 points), followed by presenting mathematical statements (23.61 points), while the indicator of performing mathematical manipulation experienced the lowest increase (13.89 points). These findings confirm that interactive digital media is more effective in strengthening high-level mathematical reasoning skills based on visual and conceptual representations, while procedural skills still require additional manual practice support. Overall, this study concludes that the integration of interactive digital media has the potential to be an effective pedagogical strategy for improving students' mathematical reasoning abilities, while reducing individual variation in achievement. The practical implication of this study is the need for a balanced learning design, combining the use of interactive digital media and conventional practice strategies to comprehensively strengthen all aspects of mathematical reasoning

Abstract

The study evaluates whether and to what extent the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) intervention improves students’ learning in mathematics across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. This study employed a pre-experimental one-group pre-test/post-test design, in which a single cohort of 35 Grade XI students at Senior High School I, Takalar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, was assessed before and after the implementation of the TaRL approach. Data were gathered using pre- and post-tests to measure cognitive improvement. The cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains were assessed with structured observation sheets using a five-point Likert scale, which were then transformed to a 0-100 scale for clarity of interpretation. The result showed a significant increase in students’ cognitive achievement, with the pre-test and post-test means of 83.42 and 93.22, respectively. Although the initial score was relatively high due to students’ prior exposure to similar mathematical content, the statistical results confirmed a meaningful improvement beyond the baseline understanding. Observations of the affective domain revealed notable positive shifts; students demonstrated higher motivation, increased confidence in problem-solving, and more active participation during class activities, as reflected in an average converted score of 95.31. In the psychomotor domain, the mean score of 93.21 demonstrated students’ enhanced ability to apply mathematical concepts in practical contexts through active engagement. These findings suggest that the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach effectively enhances students’ learning outcomes within the studied context by promoting active, differentiated, and student-centered learning experiences. Since the study was conducted at a single institution with a small sample, additional research with larger populations and diverse educational contexts is necessary to substantiate and generalize these findings.    Keywords: affective, cognitive, mathematics, psychomotor, teaching at the right level (TaRL).
