Abstract

The Building Physics Laboratory is an educational facility that supports the quality of education. In the last 5 years, the Building Physics Laboratory at the Department of Architecture Universitas Trisakti has had the opportunity to collaborate in research activities, but does not yet have accreditation that guarantees the laboratory quality. This study was conducted to determine the condition of the building physics laboratory in the Department of Architecture at universities in Indonesia. The research results are used to prepare laboratory commercialization and laboratory development plans for the Universitas Trisakti’s Building Physics Laboratory. From this research, it is known that although the facilities and infrastructure of the Building Physics Laboratory in Universitas Trisakti are more equipped than the majority of its competitors, the condition of management and resource utilization of the Building Physics laboratory at the Department of Architecture Universitas Trisakti needs improvement if they want to get ISO 17025:2017 accreditation.

Abstract

Abstract

Energy-efficient building design is mandatory to obtain a building permit for new buildings in Jakarta. Greenship New Building is one of the green building assessment tools for new buildings in Indonesia compiled by the Green Building Council Indonesia. In the Energy Efficiency and Conservation category, points earned related to OTTV value and daylighting area are influenced by building facade design. This research aims to determine the correlation of building facade characteristics to energy and daylighting performance in office buildings to obtain the best performing building facade. This research uses Satrio Tower as a case study, a 26-story office building in the CBD Mega Kuningan area, South Jakarta. Data in the form of OTTV values were obtained through numerical simulations based on the OTTV formula from SNI 6389: 2020 and daylighting conditions in the building were obtained by conducting computational simulations using Dialux Evo. Then the building facade performance data is compared and analyzed for correlation. It was found that a design combining the use of a 60 cm horizontal shading device, the use of low-emissivity glass and a low window-wall ratio had the best energy and daylighting performance. Among the building facade characteristics, the visible light transmittance value of the glazing material has a positive correlation with the energy and daylighting performance.

Abstract

Rapid population growth in DKI Jakarta has led to increased territorial density, resulting in a growing number of slums and a housing gap in the availability of decent housing. One of the main challenges in urban planning is the unavailability of accurate and up-to-date data on Unfit-for-Habitation Houses (RTLH), which is still based on sampling methods. Therefore, the primary objective of this community service activity is to develop an efficient data update framework, enabling the Department of Public Housing and Settlement Areas (DPRKP) to update data in real-time without the need for extensive re-surveys. The implementation method involved outreach to the Sub-Department of Public Housing and Settlement Areas (PRKP) across various administrative regions of Jakarta, followed by question-and-answer sessions and discussions. The results indicate that the developed data update framework can enhance the accuracy and efficiency of RTLH information management, thereby supporting more effective data-driven decision-making for the local government.

Abstract

Digital literacy gaps among rural tourism managers often hinder the promotion of local potential. This community service program aims to enhance the digital promotion capacity of Curug Luhur natural tourism managers in Sukabumi through social media management and content creation training. The approach integrates digital storytelling and digital branding strategies based on local wisdom. Implementation methods included smartphone-based photography/videography workshops and intensive mentoring on digital business account management. Evaluation results showed significant improvements: consistency in promotional content posts increased by 65%, technical skills in account creation rose by 60%, and understanding of digital performance analytics grew by 55%. Beyond technical aspects, the program successfully fostered a sense of belonging among participants, who now actively serve as community-based content creators and tourism ambassadors. This initiative demonstrates that digital literacy empowerment is an effective catalyst for strengthening the image of sustainable tourism destinations at the local level.

Abstract

Background:  This community service program aimed to develop Curug Luhur as a sustainable rural tourism destination in Desa Ambarjaya by strengthening local capacity in participatory spatial planning, business model development, and digital destination branding. The objective was to integrate these components into a community-based tourism framework that supports environmental sustainability, economic viability, and local governance. Contribution: The program empowered 20 local stakeholders, including village officials, community organizations, and the youth group Bina Muda Group, as well as 11 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from culinary, handicraft, and service sectors. It fostered cross-sector collaboration, enhanced community ownership, and supported MSME integration into the local tourism value chain. Method: A participatory action approach was applied, combining Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), site surveys and spatial mapping, focus group discussions (FGDs) for master planning and architectural design, business management training using SWOT analysis and the Business Model Canvas (BMC), MSME empowerment activities, and digital branding and social media workshops. Results: The program produced a community-endorsed tourism master plan, participatory architectural design proposals, strategic business models for tourism activities, and a locally grounded destination brand supported by digital promotion tools. Participant evaluation showed high overall satisfaction (average score: 4.6/5), improved entrepreneurial skills, and stronger community commitment to tourism development. Conclusion: The integration of participatory master planning, business model innovation, and digital promotion effectively strengthened the institutional, economic, and promotional foundations of Curug Luhur. This approach demonstrates a replicable model for sustainable, community-driven rural tourism development in Indonesia.
