Abstract

Entrepreneurship is crucial for students to navigate intense competition in the globalized era. Chemo-entrepreneurship (CEP) integrates chemistry education with the production of marketable products, which can serve as practical videos to illustrate the application and relevance of functional group materials in daily life, making chemistry learning more impactful when applied practically. This research aims to develop YouTube content in the form of practical videos on functional group material containing chemo-entrepreneurship. The method used in this research is research and development (R&D) with a define, design, develop, and disseminate (4-D) model. The products developed are assessed by material, media, and educational practitioner experts using product quality assessment sheets and student responses. The percentage of assessments from material, media experts, and reviewers are 87, 96, and 91%, respectively. Students responded positively to the practical video that was developed and obtained a percentage of 97%. Assessments from experts, reviewers, and students are in the very good category. Based on the data obtained, the practical video developed is suitable for use as an alternative media in practical learning of functional group material to improve students' entrepreneurial spirit.

Abstract

Computer Based Test (CBT) website-based chemistry national exam is an online-based chemistry exam system in terms of test prep and practice for a national exam, provided with item analysis. The results of the item analysis serve to determine the indicators of questions that are considered difficult by students so that the deepening of the materials is more accurate to the students’ needs. This research aims to develop a computer-based test (CBT) for students of Islamic High School (MA). The product is also categorized as Computer Based Test (CBT) because a computer is required to implement the exam. The development of CBT used the Borg and Gall model with five stages: (1) research and information collecting, (2) planning, (3) developing preliminary products (4) preliminary field testing, and (5) primary product revision. The instruments used were product validation sheets under the authority of media and IT experts, quality assessment sheets from reviewers (chemistry teacher of MA), and student response sheets. Based on the assessment of reviewers (chemistry teachers of MA), the developed product, website-based chemistry test obtained an ideal percentage of 91% with the very good category (VG), and student response was 92% with the very good category (VG). Therefore, it can be concluded that the website-based chemistry test is feasible for national exam practice.

Abstract

Website-based online learning media are needed by students to make it easier to understand multilevel representations of chemistry during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to develop learning media based on google sites on chemical bonding material containing multilevel chemical representations and determine product quality. This media development adapts the 4-D development model, consisting of four stages: define, design, development, and disseminate. Quality assessment was carried out by material experts, media experts, chemistry teachers, and students responded. The research instrument was a product quality assessment sheet and student response sheets. The results showed that the quality of the media developed based on the assessment by the media obtained an ideal percentage of 97.5% in the excellent category, material experts obtained an ideal percentage of 85% in the excellent category, and chemistry teachers obtained an ideal percentage of 97% in the excellent category. Learning media based on google sites on chemical bonding material containing multilevel chemical representations also responded positively with a percentage of 93.75%. It can be concluded that the developed media is suitable for use in the learning process to improve students' multi-representation abilities on chemical bonding material.

Abstract

Due to COVID-19, media is needed so that students can continue to carry out practical activities at home to improve their understanding of chemical concepts. This study aimed to develop and determine the quality of a simple practicum video on redox material. This research is development research (R&D) with a 4D model (Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate), but this research is only up to the development stage. This simple video practicum on redox material contains the redox process on nail corrosion, the redox process on betadine with vitamin C, and the redox process on Onions with potassium permanganates. The product is assessed by one material expert, one media expert, four reviewers, and ten class X students respond. The results of the product quality assessment by material experts, media experts, and reviewers (senior high school chemistry teachers) get a percentage of 97.14%, 90%, and 91.81%, with a very good category. Then, the results of student responses obtained a percentage of 95% with a very good category. Based on this assessment, it can be concluded that simple practicum videos on redox material can be used as an alternative source of practicum during the COVID-19 era.

Abstract

The competence to make synthetic indicators is terribly required by chemistry teachers in high school in order that the implementation of practicum can run more effectively and efficiently. This study aimed to develop a practicum video on how to make synthetic indicators and find out the quality of the developed video. This study was a Research and Development (R&D) study with 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The product was a practicum video on how to make synthetic indicators, in the form of MP4, containing the creation of phenolphthalein, starch, Tollens, and Fehling indicators. The product was assessed by one material expert, one media expert, and four reviewers (high school chemistry teachers). The results of product assessments based on quality, from media expert, it got a percentage of 96% in the very good category; from material expert, it got a percentage of 95% in the very good category; and from reviewers, it got a percentage of 98.33% in the very good category. Furthermore, the video was also responded very well by prospective chemistry teachers with an ideal percentage of 98%. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the developed product is feasible to be used in the learning process to improve the ability of prospective chemistry teachers to make synthetic indicators in the laboratory

Abstract

Advances in the digital era have significantly changed the presentation of learning materials, with the increasing use of interactive animated videos in the classroom. This study aims to develop and assess the quality of Powtoon animation videos on the material of colligative properties of contextually charged solutions to increase student learning motivation. The method used is research and development (R&D) with the 4-D model from Thiagarajan (1974) to the development stage. The developed products were assessed by material experts, media, and educational practitioners using product quality assessment sheets and student responses. Material experts assessed 91.10%, media experts 100%, reviewers 94.20%, and students assessed 93.00% of the developed video. Based on the data collected, the experts, reviewers, and students considered their assessments to fall into the "outstanding" category. Based on the data obtained, the Powtoon animation video developed is suitable for use as an alternative media in learning the chemical properties of colligative solutions to increase student learning motivation.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a HOTS test instrument on electrochemistry topics that meets valid and reliable criteria. Apart from that, the level of difficulty, distinguishing power, ability level, and detection of respondent bias were also analyzed. This research is development research using the Tessmer model, which includes preliminary and formative evaluation stages. The HOTS questions consist of 15 multiple-choice questions. The validation data from experts is measured using a Likert scale. Coefficient Aikens’ V is then used to measure the validation data from reviewers. Experts and reviewer assessments indicated that the HOTS question instrument developed was very good. Analysis of questions using the Rasch model in a field testing of 33 high school students using a purposive sampling technique resulted in 14 valid questions and 1 invalid question with a reliability value of 0,69. There were 3 questions in the easy category, 7 in the moderate category, 1 in the hard category, and 4 in the extremely hard category. The analysis of the distinguishing power of the questions obtained 9 questions with very good criteria, 3 questions with good criteria, and 2 with fair criteria. The results of the validity of the students` responses showed that there were 4 invalid responses. The ability level shows that 5 students have high ability, 7 have moderate ability, and 21 have low ability. In conclusion, the developed HOTS test instrument for electrochemical material has a good quality and is suitable for evaluation.
