Abstract

The global Covid-19 pandemic has affected almost all lines of human life without exception, be it economic, educational, social, or other aspects. One of the sectors which, according to the author, is the most affected is the economy. The implementation of social restrictions during Covid-19 has reduced the income of some people and lose their jobs. Men and women alike are the objects that are harmed. However, there is an interesting phenomenon that deserves attention, namely, the proliferation of digital businesses carried out by women. The author tries to capture this phenomenon using a qualitative descriptive method. Furthermore, the empowerment carried out by the author and the team utilizes the SL (Service Learning) method. In addition, the author also tries to offer a conceptual formula in the form of a women's empowerment strategy based on simple observations in the field. The result of this study of women's economic empowerment is the increase in women's creativity in making products that sell value through online marketing. It is hoped that this empowerment activity will be able to elevate the dignity and independence of the community, especially women.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on a problem that the researcher found regarding grade IV students at SD Negeri 02 Kajen Pekalongan Regency who did not understand Javanese manners because it was considered difficult to practice. The purpose of this study was to compare the level of Javanese language proficiency of fourth grade students at SD Negeri 02 Kajen before and after using block jenga media. Furthermore, to assess the success of block jenga media on Javanese alus krama skills in Class IV SD Negeri 02 Kajen. This study used a quantitative methodology and a Pre-Experimental Design study conducted at SD Negeri 02 Kajen Pekalongan. The One-Group Pretest-Posttest study was conducted without using a comparison (control) group. There is only one sample class, namely Class IV which has 24 students, so this sample was chosen. In this study, testing methods and documentation techniques were used for data collection. The findings of this study revealed that by using the T-Test according to the one sample T-Test, the pre-test average score was 42.5 while the post-test average score was 77.91. This means that the average difference between before and after the application of block jenga media is significantly different. The N-Gain test produces a value of 0.6238 for the N-Gain score, the mean, or the average value. The effectiveness value of beam jenga media is moderate because the deviation is less than 0.7. The mean or percent average N-Gain value at that time was 62.3810, or 62.3%. If the conspicuousness is between 55% and 75%, it can be said that the use of beam jenga media is quite effective.

Abstract

A teacher is someone who plays an important role in education and tries various ways to overcome the difficulties experienced by students. One of the learning difficulties experienced by students, especially phase A, is difficulty in initial reading. If initial reading difficulties can be overcome well, it will be easy for students to take the next stage of reading. This research aims to describe the alphabet method as a teacher's strategy in improving initial reading skills in phase A class I students at the Kalipucang Kulon State Elementary School, to outline the teacher's strategy in improving initial reading skills using the syllabic method for phase A class I students in elementary school. Kalipucang Kulon State, and to explain the factors that influence initial reading difficulties in phase A class I students at Kalipucang Kulon State Elementary School. The type of this research is field research, namely research carried out directly to obtain data with a qualitative approach namely the approach used to gather information from reasonable conditions. Meanwhile, the data sources used are primary data sources and secondary data sources. Meanwhile, the data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of this research show that: (1) The alphabet method as a teacher's strategy in improving initial reading skills in phase A class I students at Kalipucang Kulon Batang State Elementary School, is considered quite successful in improving initial reading skills, there are changes in the students. (2) The teacher's strategy in improving initial reading skills using the syllabic method for phase A class I students at the Kalipucang Kulon Batang State Elementary School has not yet been achieved optimally, but little by little there has been an improvement in the students' reading skills. (3) The factors that influence initial reading difficulties in phase A class I students at Kalipucang Kulon Batang State Elementary School are caused by four factors, namely physiological factors, intellectual factors, environmental factors and psychological factors.

Abstract

AbstrakKekhawatiran mengenai ketidakmampuan peserta didik dalam mewujudkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan ketiadaan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler berbasis menulis di SMA Sains Cahaya Al-Qur’an Kota Pekalongan, mendorong tim pengabdi dari Tadris Bahasa Indonesia UIN Gus Dur Pekalongan melakukan pelatihan menulis kreatif dan ilmiah yang dikemas melalui kegiatan pengabdian kolaboratif. Pengabdian ini bertujuan agar peserta didik mampu membuat sebuah karya tulis, baik populer maupun ilmiah, yang berdasar dari aktivitas berpikir kritis siswa. SMA Sains Cahaya Al-Qur’an Kota Pekalongan merupakan sekolah yang mempunyai potensi besar untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa karena pembelajaran yang dilakukan diwujudkan dengan mengintegrasikan ilmu agama dan sains. Dalam praktiknya, potensi ini belum mampu dioptimalkan oleh sekolah karena siswa tidak memiliki wadah untuk mengekspresikan keterampilan berpikir kritis tersebut. Sebanyak 25 siswa dalam kegiatan ini, diberikan pelatihan tentang cara menulis kreatif dan ilmiah sebagai salah satu langkah untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini memanfaatkan pendekatan service learning. Melalui metode tersebut, keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dapat terlatih dan terwadahi dengan baik. Hasil dari pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa-siswi SMA Sains Cahaya Al-Qur’an mampu menggali ide hingga mengembangkan kerangka dan menyunting tulisan melalui teknik menulis berantai, teknik menulis Amati, Bayangkan, Tuliskan, dan Kembangkan (ABTK), dan gali ide, buat kerangka, kembangkan, dan sunting dalam kegiatan pelatihan yang diberikan tim pengabdi. Saran yang dapat diberikan yaitu adanya pengabdian berkelanjutan, baik oleh tim pengabdi maupun tim lainnya, yang sama-sama berfokus untuk memupuk kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui keterampilan menulis. Kata kunci: pelatihan; menulis; menulis kreatif; menulis ilmiah; berpikir kritis. AbstractConcerns about the inability of students to develop critical thinking skills and the absence of writing-based extracurricular activities at SMA Sains Cahaya Al-Qur’an in Pekalongan prompted a team from the Indonesian Language Education Department at UIN Gus Dur Pekalongan to conduct training in creative and scientific writing as part of a collaborative community service initiative. This program aims to equip students with the skills to produce written works, both popular and scientific, rooted in critical thinking activities. SMA Sains Cahaya Al-Qur’an in Pekalongan has great potential to develop students' critical thinking skills, as the learning process there integrates religious and scientific knowledge. However, this potential has not been fully realized, as the school lacks a platform for students to express their critical thinking skills. In this program, 25 students were given training on creative and scientific writing techniques as a step to hone their critical thinking skills. The training employed a service-learning approach, which effectively nurtures and channels students' critical thinking abilities. The results of this program show that students at SMA Sains Cahaya Al-Qur’an can explore ideas, develop frameworks, and edit their writing using techniques such as chain writing, the Observe, Imagine, Write, and Develop (ABTK) technique, and methods to brainstorm ideas, outline, expand, and edit. It is recommended that there be ongoing community service initiatives, either by this team or other teams, to consistently focus on fostering students' critical thinking skills through writing. Keywords: training; writing; creative writing; scientific writing; critical thinking.

Abstract

Baliho kampanye politik, dalam konteks ini kontestasi Pilkada, dipandang sebagai salah satu media sosialisasi yang efektif untuk mengenalkan kandidat kepada para calon pemilih. Desain visual yang mencolok dan pemanfaatan bahasa yang unik memberikan kesan estetik bagi pembaca baliho tersebut. Selain itu, muatan pesan di dalam baliho yang cukup padat memiliki potensi untuk dikaji dari aspek kritis dan perspektif gender. Riset ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara kritis penggunaan bahasa dalam wacana baliho kampanye para kandidat yang berperspektif gender dengan model Michel Foucault. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan memanfaatkan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis model Foucault. Teknik penyediaan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan dokumentasi. Selain itu, peneliti memanfaatkan teknik triangulasi data untuk menjamin tingkat kevalidan data. Hasil temuan riset ini menunjukkan bahwa representasi gender melalui media visual tidak sekadar mencerminkan stereotip yang lazim di masyarakat, tetapi juga berperan sebagai instrumen pembentuk wacana yang mengatur norma-norma sosial dan politik terkait peran laki-laki dan perempuan dalam ruang publik. Oleh karena itu, dari sudut pandang Foucault, baliho kampanye bukan hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana promosi politik semata, melainkan juga menjadi medan pertarungan wacana yang dapat memperkuat maupun menentang struktur dominasi gender yang ada dalam masyarakat. Dengan demikian riset ini mencoba memberi warna baru dalam memahami dinamika representasi gender serta implikasinya terhadap praktik kekuasaan dan identitas sosial di konteks lokal.
