Abstract

This study aims to develop an E-Booklet utilizing endophytic fungi isolated from the roots of Phalaenopsis amabilis to improve learning outcomes of Kingdom Fungi material for class X MA Zainul Bahar students, Bondowoso. The research method used is the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The isolation results show a diversity of endophytic fungi that are potentially authentic learning resources. This e-booklet is organized in an interactive and contextual manner, integrating isolation result data into teaching materials that are in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum. The novelty of this research lies in the utilization of endophytic fungi from the roots of P. amabilis as a source of local content that has not been widely explored in learning media. In addition, the use of the E-Booklet format based on original research data provides added value in the form of a scientific approach directly from the field, which is not yet available in conventional learning resources. This study involved 27 grade X students using the one-group pretest-posttest design method and an expert validation test. Validation by experts gave the material a score of 91% (very valid) and media 87% (very valid), while the practicality test based on student questionnaires reached 85% (practical). N-gain analysis of 0.82 (high category) shows that this E-Booklet effectively improves students' learning outcomes on the Kingdom Fungi material.

Abstract

Pendidikan menuntut siswa memiliki keterampilan kognitif dan sosial. Pendidikan berperan dalam melestarikan nilai-nilai budaya yang positif untuk mencipta$kan perubahan menuju kehidupan yang lebih inovatif, mendorong individu berpikir kritis dan kreatif dalam menghadapi tantangan zaman. Penelitia$n ini dila$ta$rbelakangi oleh kurangnya fasilitas pembelajaran yang menjadi salah satu faktor penghambat dalam mencapai hasil belajar yang maksimal. Siswa juga mengalami rasa jenuh selama proses pembelajaran dan sulit memahami materi yang abstrak. Model pembelajaran yang diterapkan masih monoton sehingga siswa kurang aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model pembelaja\ran role playing dengan media gambar. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan target siswa yang tuntas mencapai 75%. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa, pada siklus I presentasenya sebesar 65%, dan siklus II presentasenya sebesar 95%. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran role playing menggunakan media gambar untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa di MA At-Taqwa Suren pada materi sistem ekskresi dinyatakan berhasil untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh perlunya dilakukan penerapan model pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan bermakna dalam menyampaikan suatu konsep pada kegiatan pembelajaran. Tujuaan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peningkatan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII MTs At-Taqwa yang diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran Role Playing dengan media gambar. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dengan empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Teknik yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data yaitu observasi dan testertulis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus, setiap siklus dilaksanakan dua kali pertemuan.  Keaktifan belajar siswa pada siklus I rata-rata presentase keaktifannya 57,63 % yang dikategorikan aktif, mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II dengan rata-rata presentase 82,07 % yang dikategorikan sangat aktif, yang menunjukkan bahwa presentase yang diperoleh mencapai indikator ketuntasan yang ditentukan peneliti yaitu 51 %. Hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I memperoleh rata-rata 68,6 dengan presentase ketuntasan 55 %, sedangkan pada siklus II rata-rata yang diperoleh 84,8 dengan presentase 85 % yang menunjukkan hasil belajar siswa pada siklus II mencapai indikator keberhasilan yang sudah ditentukan peneliti yaitu ketuntasan diatas 80 %. Dengan demikian penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan model pembelajaran Role Playing dengan media gambar terbukti dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa dikelas.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to formulate a liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) based on banana corm, moringa leaves, and pineapple peel, providing a practical guide for organic waste processing in high school biology learning. The study used samples of organic waste (banana corm, moringa leaves, and pineapple peel) collected from Suci Village, Panti District, Jember Regency, which were then formulated into liquid fertilizer through a fermentation process lasting 14 days with the addition of bioactivators and other supporting materials. Data collection was conducted by observing the nutrient content of the LOF analyzed in the laboratory of Jember State University and validating the practical guide using validation sheets by three experts who assessed material, media, and language aspects on a Likert scale of 1–5. The validation data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively by calculating the average percentage score to determine the product's validity level. Laboratory analysis showed that the resulting LOF contained Nitrogen (N) at 0.05%, Phosphorus (P) at 0.0032%, Potassium (K) at 0.005%, organic carbon at 0.62%, iron (Fe) at 0.00053%, and a pH of 3.4. The macro- and micronutrient content in this LOF is still below the minimum standards set by the Ministry of Agriculture; however, this formulation still provides an alternative for the value-added utilization of agricultural organic waste. The practical guide developed in this research has been validated by three expert validators with an average assessment percentage of 79.90%, indicating that this guide is valid for use in grade 10 high school biology learning on the topics of environmental change, waste, and recycling. The results show that this practical guide for making LOF is feasible to implement, contributing to organic waste management and contextual learning media that supports project-based environmental education. This study's outcomes have implications for developing innovative learning materials and promoting sustainable waste management practices in educational settings, ultimately enhancing environmental awareness and literacy among high school students.

Abstract

This study investigates the phenotypic alterations in Dendrobium 'Transient White Rika' (RKA) and 'Florenza' (FLO) orchids resulting from colchicine-induced polyploidy during in vitro cultivation. Colchicine, a known mitotic inhibitor, was applied at varying concentrations (0 ppm, 4000 ppm, 5000 ppm, 6000 ppm) to induce chromosome doubling and assess its impact on the vegetative and generative phases of the orchids. A factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) was employed to analyze the effects of these treatments. The study revealed significant variations in leaf length and color, particularly at higher colchicine concentrations. Morphological changes were most pronounced at 6000 ppm, where the leaf length decreased, and flower morphology exhibited unique features compared to the control. The study also observed a reduction in stomatal density as colchicine concentration increased, correlating with an enlargement of leaf epidermal cells. These findings indicate that colchicine treatment can effectively induce phenotypic changes in Dendrobium orchids, contributing to the development of hybrids with superior ornamental qualities. However, the study also notes that the response to colchicine is variable, with certain parameters like the number of new shoots and leaf width not showing significant changes. The results underscore the potential of colchicine-induced polyploidy in orchid breeding, though further research is necessary to optimize treatment protocols and ensure the stability and viability of the resulting hybrids. These findings may serve as valuable material for genetics-based learning modules in biology.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the learning outcomes of Grade VIII students at SMP Kartika IV-6 Ambulu on the topic of the human respiratory system through the implementation of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model assisted by teaching aids. The study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with the Kemmis and McTaggart design, conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 18 students, and data were collected using a validated multiple-choice test. The results showed an increase in the average score from 73.67 in Cycle I to 83.67 in Cycle II, while classical learning mastery improved from 66.67% to 100%. These findings indicate that the STAD model assisted by teaching aids is effective in improving students’ cognitive learning outcomes and active participation in science learning.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan sampah organik masih sangat terbatas dilakukan di unit bank sampah Sahabat Ibu, oleh karena itu Tim Pengusul program pengabdian kepada masyarakat berinisiatif untuk melakukan pelatihan pembuatan eko-enzim yang akan dimanfaatkan sebagai Pupuk Organik Cair. Pelatihan ini dilakukan di perumahan Taman Gading, kecamatan Kaliwates, kabupaten Jember. Para peserta pelatihan adalah para ibu nasabah bank sampah Sahabat Ibu. Pelatihan ini dapat memberikan wawasan kepada para peserta tentang arti penting pengolahan sampah organik dan menambah keterampilan bagi mereka tentang cara pembuatan eko-enzim yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai Pupuk Organik Cair. Para peserta mampu membuat eko-enzim dengan keberhasilan sebesar 100%.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify mycorrhizal fungi, primarily from the genera Rhizoctonia and Tulasnella, on orchid roots and develop leaflet-based teaching materials using the Research and Development (R&D) model with the 4D approach (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Fungal identification was conducted through microscopic examination and molecular techniques (ITS rDNA sequencing) to ensure accurate classification. The 4D model involved defining student needs, designing leaflet content focused on fungal symbiosis, developing draft materials, and disseminating the final leaflet for classroom use. The effectiveness of the leaflet was evaluated with 40 students through pre- and post-tests measuring knowledge of fungal roles in orchid growth. Results showed the average pre-test score increased from 48.5 to 85.2 in the post-test, with an N-Gain score of 0.722 (72.29%), indicating moderate effectiveness. Improvements were most notable in students’ understanding of fungal identification and symbiotic functions. These findings demonstrate that leaflet-based teaching materials developed from precise fungal identification can significantly enhance student comprehension of Kingdom Fungi concepts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas XI MA Raudatus Syabab pada materi sistem ekskresi melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu berdasarkan dua variabel yaitu keaktifan dan hasil belajar melalui lembar observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa. Pada pra siklus rata-rata kekatifan kelas 49,4% dan ketuntasan klasikal sebanyak 30,0%. Pada siklus I rata-rata keaktifan kelas meningkat menjadi 65,0% dan ketuntasan klasikal juga meningkat menjadi 75,0%. Pada siklus ke II rata-rata keaktifan kelas menjadi lebih meningkat 77,5% dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebanyak 90,0%. Selain itu penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT juga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata dan presentase ketuntasan belajar siswa pada setiap siklus. Pada pra siklus, nilai rata-rata siswa 69,9 dengan presentase ketuntasan belajar 35,0%. Pada siklus I, nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 76,0 dengan presentase ketuntasan belajar 70,0%. Pada siklus II, nilai rata-rata siswa mencapai 81,1 dengan presentase ketuntasan 90,0%. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI MA Raudatus Syabab.
