Abstract

The purpose of the research to describe the types of difficulties in reading the beginning, the causes of difficulty reading the beginning, and the efforts of the teacher in the face of difficulty reading beginning in Grade 1 students at SDN Demangan Yogyakarta. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research, with data collection using interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that there are types of difficulties in reading the beginning of students, namely the lack of student recall, difficulty spelling when the consonant is in the middle, difficulty seeing long distances, mistakes in changing letters, not yet Punctuation and difficulties in letter recognition. Factors for the cause of difficulty reading early physiological, intellectual, psychological, and solutions and efforts that have been done by the teacher in the learning process on the reading activities using Vidio to learn to read, using letters cards and Learning guidance.

Abstract

  Sekolah merupakan salah satu sumber transformasi pengetahuan mengenai strategi penyiapan dini terhadap bencana alam pada siswa. Ilmu pengetahuan dapat dikembangkan sebagai software yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai media mitigasi bencana untuk meminimalisir kerugian yang mungkin saja timbul ketika bencana-bencana alam itu terjadi, baik kerugian materiil atau nonmaterial. Di Kota Yogyakarta, ada beberapa sekolah yang dicanangkan sebagai sekolah siaga bencana (SSB). Permasalahan yang sering muncul dan dirasa menjadi kendala bagi sekolah siaga bencana tersebut, antara lain: 1) semua mata pelajaran yang diajarkan sesuai kurikulum harus diintegrasikan dengan siaga bencana, 2) guru harus memasukkan nilai-nilai kesiagaan menghadapi bencana dalam berbagai media dan materi pembelajaran, 3) masih terbatasnya alat peraga/ media dan fasilitas yang ada di sekolah siaga bencana. Melalui program IbM yang direncanakan berlangsung selama 8 bulan dengan kerjasama Mitra SDN Baluwarti, SDN Bangunrejo 1, dan SDN Bangunrejo 2 diharapkan dapat membantu menyelesaikan persoalan yang dihadapi dengan menyediakan alat peraga/ media untuk menyampaikan materi siaga bencana kepada siswa. Salah satu media yang dapat digunakan adalah buku cerita anak. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya pelatihan penulisan buku cerita anak bagi guru untuk media mitigasi bencana. Metode yang digunakan adalah mengidentifikasi permasalahan mitra, orentasi, praktek lapangan, dan refleksi. Hasil pengabdian ini adalah terciptanya tiga buku cerita anak bermuatan bencana, yaitu Gempa Gempita, Kecil Jadi Kawan, Besar Jadi Lawan, dan Gemuruh di Sekolah. Ketiga bencana tersebut merupakan bencana yang seringkali melanda masing-masing sekolah tersebut. Dengan buku cerita bermuatan bencana anak dapat mengetahui dan memahami tentang jenis bencana dan penanggulangannya. Dengan buku cerita, anak dapat mengetahui pengetahuan tentang bencana dengan mudah, karena buku tersebut tidak hanya menyuguhkan isi berupa tulisan naratif tetapi ilustrasi gambar yang menarik.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine character education in the Gigana (Digital Disaster Mitigation) Comic Earthquake. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. This research uses the Abrams model pragmatic theory, which is the study of language usage that is associated with the context of its use. Data collection techniques namely refer, read, and note. Data analysis using Miles and Huberman consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of the study show that Comics as reading can benefit readers, namely children. Character education can be found in children's reading, one of them through comics. In the comic titled Comics Gigana (Digital Disaster Mitigation) Earthquakes by Siti Anafiah and Shanta Rezkita found 6 character values, namely peace, independence, responsibility, peace, environmental care, and social care. Such character education can be found through characters, characterizations, plot, settings, and mandates in the story.

Abstract

This study descriptively to find the tendency of listening skill to the story class V SD 1Petir, Piyungan, Bantul by using puppet media and hand puppet media. Comparatively to describe the differences in the use of puppet and hand puppet for the sill of listening to stories class V SD 1 Petir, Piyungan, Bantul. This research is a type of experimental research. This research was conducted at SD 1Petir, Piyungan, Bantul with a population of all class V consisting of 38 students. The sample used was random sampling. Class VA as an experimental class and class VB as a control class. Data was collected using the test, observations, and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used prerequisite t-test analysis, including the distribution, normalize test, and the variance homogeneity test. The hypothesis in this study is the use of puppet media influences the student's skill of listening to stories class V SD 1 Petir, Piyungan, Bantul. The results of the posttest t-test calculation of the experimental class and the control class obtained values p = 0,013 < 0,05, then it can be stated that the hypothesis is accepted, that there is a very significant effect using puppet media on the listening skills of class students V SD 1 Petir, Piyungan, Bantul. The average score of the control class was 73,72 which was classified as a high category, in contrast to the average score of experimental class 78,80 which was classified as very high with a difference of 05,08. Based on the score data above, it can be seen that the teacher must choose innovative learning media so that it can improve students learning abilities in the classroom, especially listening skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for digital handouts for teaching elementary school based on Tri N to provide teaching skills for prospective teacher students. This type of research is qualitative research. This study intends to reveal a needs analysis for digital handouts for elementary learning based on Tri N to equip teaching skills for prospective teacher students. The research subjects were undergraduate students of PGSD FKIP UST in semester 4 of the 2020/2021 academic year. The data collection technique in this research used participant observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis in this study used interactive model data analysis. The analysis consists of three flows of activities, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and concluding/verification. The results of this study, begin with a needs analysis by identifying the material from the RPS for the Lesson Planning course. In the RPS, materials were found in the form of curriculum analysis, program Prosem, RPP, and attachments (teaching materials, LKPD, learning media, and learning evaluation). In the RPS, the concept of the Tri N teaching has been found, but the teaching materials used are still using printed handouts and PPT. From the analysis of the material, researchers can develop innovative teaching materials, namely digital handouts, so that the material presented can be easily understood and interactive for students.

Abstract

This study aims to identify differences in the PGSD students’ speaking skills with and without talking stick learning model. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The population was all students in the 4th semester with a total of 324 students. It involved 78 sample students selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using speaking tests, observations, and interviews. The collected data were then analyzed using the Mann Whitney test. The result showed the Sig value of 0.000 which is lower than 0.05 and the average improvement in speaking skills of the experimental group is higher than the control groups. In conclusion, there are significant differences between students who received the talking stick learning model and those who did not

Abstract

Describe the development and feasibility of children's fairy tale media containing local wisdom based on macromedia flash for elementary school students. This type of research is RnD. This research procedure includes potential problems, planning, design development, product validation, product revision. This design validation was carried out by material experts and media experts. Data analysis used content analysis and descriptive percentage analysis. The results showed that animation design, material design, operation, benefits, presentation of material, and impact on readers. Material experts judge from things related to the material in the media, while media experts judge from things related to the appearance and operation of macromedia flash fairy tales and the role of media in learning. Children's fairy tales get a positive response from the listeners, namely children and can develop reading and speaking skills.

Abstract

Kemampuan menyimak merupakan keterampilan dasar yang penting dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar, namun sering kali kurang mendapat perhatian, termasuk dalam pemanfaatan buku siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan refleksi mahasiswa PGSD terhadap penerapan model Cooperative Learning dalam menganalisis buku siswa materi menyimak. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu kampus Prodi PGSD swasta di Yogyakarta dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara semi-formal kepada lima mahasiswa peserta perkuliahan. Analisis data menggunakan tahapan kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan sesuai model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif mendorong mahasiswa untuk aktif berdiskusi, memahami teknik menyimak secara teori dan praktik, serta mampu merancang pembelajaran yang sesuai untuk siswa SD. Mahasiswa juga menunjukkan sikap kritis dan kolaboratif dalam menganalisis buku siswa. Kesimpulannya, penerapan Cooperative Learning dalam analisis buku siswa efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual dan keterampilan pedagogis mahasiswa PGSD sebagai calon guru.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) describe the needs of teachers and students regarding the development of the Puzzle Pohon Tubel media; 2) describe the development process of the Puzzle Pohon Tubel media; 3) determine the feasibility of the Puzzle Pohon Tubel media; and 4) determine students’ responses to the Puzzle Pohon Tubel media in early reading skills. This research is a research and development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects were first-grade students of SD Negeri Turi 3 Sleman. The object of this research is the Puzzle Pohon Tubel media, which was designed as a learning tool to support early reading instruction. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used both qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results show that: 1) the Puzzle Pohon Tubel media was successfully developed according to the needs of students and teachers; 2) the media is highly feasible based on expert validation, with scores of 94.64% from material experts, 92.13% from media experts, and 98.15% from teacher assessments; 3) students’ responses were in the “very good” category with a score of 93.15%. The media helps increase student enthusiasm and supports interactive and enjoyable learning.

Abstract

Character education for elementary school-age children can be applied through children's literary media. Unfortunately, it is still rare to find studies on this matter. This study aims to describe the character of leadership through Tamansiswa teachings based on Ngerti, Ngrasa, Nglakoni (Tri Nga) in children's literature. This type of research is descriptive. This study took the subject of children's literature of the type of folklore originating from Yogyakarta. The object of this research is the value of leadership character through the teachings of Tri Nga in children's literature. Researchers themselves are research tools. The tools in this research are data cards. Data collection uses reading and note-taking techniques. The data analysis method uses the padan and agih. The validity of the data in this study is interrater and interrater. The results of the research on the legend of Yogyakarta, there are several character values ​​appear, namely leadership and justice, independence and responsibility, and respect and courtesy. If these three characteristics are understood in children, they will grow respect, control emotions, and be able to interact with friends and the environment around them. This research is expected to contribute to preparing future leaders with a character starting with children using digital-based literature through the teachings of Tamansiswa Ngerti, Ngrasa, Nglakoni (Tri Nga).
