Abstract

A person's level of health is influenced by four factors, namely, heredity, environment, behavior and health services, where environmental factors have the greatest role. In Proto Village, based on data from the Village Health Polyclinic, most environmental-based diseases were found, such as ISPA, diarrhea and skin diseases. Information on the distribution of disease in Proto Village can be done using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology in the form of a thematic maps. This research aims to map the distribution of environmental-based diseases in Proto Village with a Geographic Information System (GIS) approach. The type of research is qualitative, case study design with a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) approach. The research location is in Proto Village, Kec. Kedungwuni, Kab. Banjarnegara. The research was conducted in August 2021 - August 2022. The research instruments were GIS software, data on the health conditions of the Proto Village community. Descriptive data analysis methods overlay techniques and scoring techniques. Based on the results of the disease distribution mapping analysis, two RWs in Proto Village are in vulnerable status, namely RW 2 and RW 3, while RW 1 is not in vulnerable status. The distribution pattern of ARI diseases is clustered in RW 3 and random in RW 1 and RW 2. The distribution pattern of diarrhea disease is random, while the distribution pattern of skin diseases is clustered. Based on the condition of well water quality, ARI disease is not caused by water quality, viruses, dust, lack of open ventilation. Diarrhea is caused by water quality and climate change, while skin disease is caused by water quality, personal hygiene, overcrowding and lack of ventilation.

Abstract

Background Adolescents are usually thought of having a healthy condition, so study about their physical health, especially that related to lung condition is very limited. Indicator used for assessing lung condition is oxygen saturation. The study aimed to analyze the association of nutritional impact to low oxygen saturation in adolescent girls in Central Java, Indonesia. Methods This study used a cross-sectional design with 378 adolescent girls as respondents. To find which nutrition intake related to oxygen saturation, data of each nutrition intake and SpO2 level were analyzed using linear regression. Data of body mass index, hemoglobin level and upper arm circumference were also included in the analysis since previous research showed their correlation with oxygen saturation. Results The prevalence of low SpO2 in adolescent is 8.5%. The nutrition intake which statistically significant related to oxygen saturation were fat (p = 0.007; CI = -0.021, -0.003) and vitamin D (p = 0.037; CI = 0.005, 0.172). Conclusions Adolescent should decrease fat consumption, increase vitamin D consumption, and need to increase arm circumference by consuming more protein and living healthy lifestyle to avoid infectious diseases.

Abstract

The turnover intention rate among nurses in hospitals in Indonesia is quite high, exceeding 10% annually (above the normal limit). This phenomenon also occurred in Purwokerto, where in 2023 the turnover rate exceeded the minimum threshold of 10% per year. The causes of nurse turnover intention include workload, work stress, perceived organizational support, job satisfaction, and compensation. Nurse turnover intention can lead to a decrease in trained and expert nurses in their field. Method: This study used a cross-sectional design with 302 respondents from 6 private hospitals in Purwokerto. The sampling technique was stratified proportional random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires, and the analysis employed binary logistic regression with the enter method. Results: The analysis of the relationship between workload, work stress, perceived organizational support, job satisfaction, and compensation on nurse turnover intention showed a p-value <0.001. Multivariate analysis using the enter method found that workload and work stress had significant effects (p = 0.001), while perceived organizational support (p = 0.368), job satisfaction (p = 0.125), and compensation (p = 0.175) did not have significant effects. Conclusion: There is a relationship between workload, work stress, perceived organizational support, job satisfaction, and compensation with nurse turnover intention. However, multivariate analysis shows that workload and work stress simultaneously influence nurse turnover intention in hospitals.

Abstract

Proper sanitation is a crucial factor in creating a healthy environment and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the Open Defecation Free (ODF) target (Bappenas, 2023). Pangandaran Regency achieved 100% ODF status in 2023, but monitoring one year later revealed that Harumandala and Kertajaya Villages experienced setbacks, with some residents returning to open defecation practices. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving ten competent informants. The findings indicate that although sanitarians have received STBM training, the implementation of triggering activities is hindered by a lack of human resources, limited funding from ADD and BOK, and inadequate understanding of STBM guidelines among informants. Additionally, transportation facilities are privately owned, and STBM planning is conducted annually, but no specific STBM organization has been established at Cigugur Health Center. Socialization efforts are carried out through triggering activities and counseling, with both direct and indirect supervision by relevant stakeholders. The main obstacle in maintaining ODF status is limited funding, which hinders the sustainability of the program. Therefore, a strong collective commitment and improved funding strategies are essential to ensure that Harumandala and Kertajaya Villages can regain and sustain their ODF status.

Abstract

The incidence of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is the latest challenge facing the international community. Health protocols such as social distancing, wearing masks, washing hands and limiting community activities are implemented in the community to prevent a spike in coronavirus cases. The policy of implementing health protocols in the community results in the community itself not complying with the guidelines. For this reason, researchers conducted research to determine social determinants and explanations of community behavior regarding the implementation of the 2019 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) health protocol. This study used a systematic review design where researchers searched for articles from the Google Scholar and PubMed databases. From the search results, six articles were then considered that met the inclusion criteria. Findings show that community knowledge, education, attitudes and behavior, age and gender influence the implementation of medical procedures related to COVID-19. Factors that influence the implementation of health protocols to prevent the spread of the corona virus disease (Covid-19) in society include awareness of the implementation of health protocols, limited infrastructure, limited health personnel; and public attitudes towards health protocols. Apart from that, behavioral, psychosocial and cognitive factors of the population in accordance with socio-cultural, demographic and health characteristics also influence the implementation of health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic. The need for community attitudes such as the perception of high risk of COVID-19 encourages individuals to follow health protocols with more discipline, and the existence of social environmental support such as positive social interactions can increase individual motivation to comply with existing rules.
