Abstract

Plastic waste is one of the wastes generated from human activities and is classified as inorganic waste. Inorganic waste is difficult or cannot be decomposed, especially if the plastic is made of non-biodegradable materials. The increase in plastic waste is one of the problems faced by all parties and can threaten environmental sustainability. Efforts that can be made to minimize plastic waste are to recycle plastic waste into valuable products, such as planting media. The purpose of this community service activity is to manage plastic waste into planting media. This aims to minimize environmental pollution due to plastic waste, especially plastics that are classified as non-biodegradable. The methods used in this activity are lectures and demonstrations. The activity was attended by 37 people consisting of village officials, PKK mothers, and Karang Taurna of Blimbing Village, Kediri Regency. In this PKM activity, the participants seemed enthusiastic about participating in a series of activities from waste management education and also demonstrations in making planting media. In this activity, it is known that there is an increase in participants' knowledge about good waste management. As a follow-up effort, similar and relevant activities are needed so that public knowledge and awareness of the importance of good and correct waste management will increase, so as to create a healthy and sustainable environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning bagi siswa kelas VIII MTs Salafiyah Syafi''iyah Seblak Jombang. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan jenis true experimental design dan desain yang digunakan adalah posttest only control design, yakni eksperimen yang menempatkan subyek penelitian ke dalam dua kelas yang dibedakan menjadi kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Populasi mencakup keseluruhan siswa kelas VIII MTs Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Seblak Jombang dengan sampel penelitian kelas VIII D yang berjumlah 21 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII E yang berjumlah 19 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan dengan teknik tes dan non tes yang kemudian akan diuji hipotesis untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian uji-T menunjukkan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa (mean) pada kelas eskperimen adalah sebesar 84,12, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol adalah sebesar 74, 38. Selain itu, hasil uji-t juga menyatakan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,005 < 0,05, dan diperoleh nilai t-hitung (2,974) > t-tabel (1,688). Maka dengan ini dapat diambil sebuah kesimpulan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima

Abstract

Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technology is currently receiving special attention and has numerous benefits. In the education field, this technology can help obtain information quickly to complete a thesis. This research aims to conduct GenAI Modeling based on the Technology Accepted Model (TAM) and Expected Value Theory (EVT) framework using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM). The research used primary data obtained from surveys. The population was all Tarbiyah faculty students who took a thesis in the Even Semester of the 2023/2024 academic year with a total of 1266. The sample in this research was 191 students who were completing their thesis and had used Gen AI technology to help complete their thesis. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling with a procedure of dividing students into 8 clusters based on the study program. The research instrument used a questionnaire consisting of 5 latent variables: Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Intrinsic Motivation, Perceived Value, and Behavioral Intention to Use. The results of the analysis using the PLS-SEM method showed that Intrinsic Motivation has a significant relationship with Perceived Ease of Use, and Intrinsic Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Value have a significant relationship with Behavioral Intention to Use. These results show that students choose GenAI Technology to help complete their thesis based on its benefits, such as making it easier to prepare backgrounds, research instruments, and data analysis steps, as well as providing insight into knowledge related to the topic being researched. The research results imply the need for policies regarding the use of GenAI technology for theses so that students are wiser in using GenAI technology.

Abstract

The Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) is a digital system that enables users to search for library references through an online interface using keywords. OPAC has been implemented to enhance IAIN Kediri library services. However, its usage has never been evaluated, resulting in limited understanding of user acceptance levels. This study aims to predict the acceptance of OPAC and identify the most influential variables using interpretable ensemble learning methods. This research used cross sectional design with data collected via a survey involving 400 IAIN Kediri students who had experience using the OPAC system. The study integrates the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with the Value-Based Adoption Model (VAM) framework. Predictor variables consist of Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Intention, Technicality, and Enjoyment. The target variable was Actual Use. The measurement scale uses a Likert scale of 1 to 5. The instrument has been tested for validity and reliability. Ensemble learning algorithms used include Random Forest, AdaBoost, XGBoost, Lightgbm, and Catboost, with SHAP applied for model interpretability. Among the models tested, XGBoost achieved the highest predictive accuracy. SHAP analysis revealed that Enjoyment was the most significant factor influencing OPAC acceptance. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of interpretable ensemble models in predicting technology acceptance and suggest their potential as an alternative to data analysis methods. OPAC development can be done by improving the user interface and developing applications on Android.

Abstract

Background: Disaster preparedness training serves as a preventive measure and an investment in community safety and resilience, particularly in Indonesia, which is highly prone to natural disasters. Objective: To equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage emergencies, enabling them to save lives and minimize potential damage. Method: This study employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, actively involving students in disaster victim evacuation simulations. The activity was conducted at SD YBPK Semampir, Kediri City, on May 21, 2024, involving all students from grades I to VI, totaling 70 participants. To evaluate the effectiveness of the training, pre-tests and post-tests were administered to assess students' understanding before and after the intervention. As the data did not follow a normal distribution, a non-parametric statistical analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The mean scores for the pre-test and post-test were 35.14 and 88.71, respectively. These results were analyzed for normality and subsequently evaluated using the Wilcoxon test, which indicated a significant improvement in students' understanding following the training. Conclusion: The training effectively enhanced disaster awareness among students at SD YBPK Semampir. Recommended actions include conducting regular training sessions, involving parents in disaster preparedness programs, and developing a more comprehensive training module. These initiatives are expected to sustainably improve disaster awareness and preparedness at both the school and community levels.

Abstract

Prediksi prevalensi Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2 merupakan salah satu upaya pengelolaan sebaran penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan memprediksi angka prevalensi DM tipe 2 menggunakan metode Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder yang berasal dari data rekam medis elektronik pasien DM tipe 2 pada periode Januari 2019 sampai Desember 2022. Data dibagi menjadi data training dan data testing. Data training adalah angka prevalensi DM tipe 2 mulai januari 2019 sampai juni 2022. Data testing terdiri dari angka prevalensi DM tipe 2 mulai Juni 2022 sampai desember 2022. Grafik deret waktu memberikan informasi trend DM tipe mengalami kenaikan pada tahun 2022. Pemilihan model ANN yang terbaik dilakukan dengan melakukan prediksi dengan data testing menggunakan jumlah neuron yang berbeda yaitu 2 sampai 10 neuron. ANN dengan 2 neuron pada hidden layer merupakan metode terbaik dengan nilai RMSE sebesar 0,419. Hasil prediksi angka prevalensi DM tipe 2 periode januari sampai juni 2023 memiliki pola yang cenderung stasioner.Kata Kunci:  Prevalensi, Diabetes Mellitus tipe 2, Artificial Neural Network.

Abstract

Statistics is a part of mathematics lessons in senior high school XII classes as well as mathematics specialization class XII. A comprehensive understanding of the basic concepts of statistics is needed to convey the material in class. The results of the discussion with the Mathematics MGMP of Kediri City, a workshop is needed to deepen the understanding of mathematics teachers, especially in the material of normal distribution and binomial distribution. In addition, Material about item analysis and standard setting is need to be introduced. Both materials can be used in evaluating learning. The workshop was held in two days. The first workshop held on 4 November 2020.  Material for this day was normal distribution. At the end of the activity on this date, participants were given practice questions that should to be uploaded on google classroom. Second workshop held on 17 November 2020. Participatn are given material about binomial distribution, item analysis, and standard setting. This workshop has increased the level of understanding of participants on the material of binomial distribution and normal distribution. The increase in understanding is measured by the evaluation of the answers to the practice questions collected by the participants and the evaluation of the resource persons during the workshop activity. The next workshop can be conducted with the theme of statistical inferential analysis in educational research. The statistical analysis is very helpful for educators to analyze research data in education.

Abstract

Javanese culture-based numeracy test using the Rasch model. Numeracy is one of the six basic literacies students need to improve in the 21st century. Objectives: This research aimed to develop a numeracy test based on Javanese culture using the Rasch model. Methods: The ADDIE model is used in the numeracy development model. The question grid is based on modified curriculum-13 and the Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) numeracy framework. Data was obtained from tests aimed at 300 SMP Negeri 5 Kediri City students, which were determined using simple probabilistic random sampling techniques. Quantitative descriptive analysis assisted by SPSS and Jamovi programs was used to analyze reliability, item suitability tests, and difficulty levels. Findings: The research results showed that 50 numeracy questions with Javanese cultural content had been developed, with 17 questions of medium validity and 33 questions of high validity. The reliability estimate is 0.833, which is very high. In the test of item suitability and item difficulty level, it was found that four items, namely items 1, 2, 6, and 9, were not suitable for use in numeracy test, while 46 other items matched the Rasch model and were suitable for use. Abstract

Kesehatan adalah unsur yang sangat penting bagi tumbuh kembang anak. Dengan tubuh yang sehat, anak akan lebih optimal dalam tumbung kembangnya. Upaya yang bisa dilakukan untuk menjaga kesehatan salah satunya adalah dengan melalukan aktivitas fisik berolah raga, seperti melakukan Senam Ceria. Senam selain dapat menjaga kesehatan fisik juga dapat melatih kemampuan motorik kasar, seperti meningkatkan kekuatan otot, perbaikan postur tubuh, keseimbangan dan stabilitas gerakan terkoordinasi. Peningkatan kemampuan motorik kasar dapat berpengaruh kepada peningkatan kondisi fisik siswa. Dengan kemampuan motorik kasar yang baik, siswa akan lebih sehat dan mudah dalam melakukan aktivitas fisik sehari-hari, sehingga menjadikannya lebih bahagia. Berdasarkan hal tersebut pentingnya dilakukan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) dengan sasaran siswa sekolah dasar di SDN Blimbing I, Kecamatan Mojo, Kabupaten Kediri. Tujuan kegiatan PkM ini adalah mengajak siswa untuk rutin melakukan aktivitas fisik melalui senam ceria sebagai upaya untuk menjaga kesehatan dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup serta rasa bahagia. Senam Ceria dilaksanakan selama tiga minggu dengan intensitas tiga kali seminggu dan durasi 20 menit/sesi. Berdasarkan hasil monitoring dan evaluasi pelaksanaan senam ceria, siswa terlihat sangat antusias dan bersemangat dalam menirukan setiap gerakan senam yang dicontohkan oleh instruktur. Hasil yang dirasakan oleh siswa setelah mengikuti senam ceria, diantaranya: (1) adanya peningkatan kemampuan fisik siswa, meliputi: kekuatan otot, keseimbangan dan stabilitas, dan gerakan terkoordinasi yang lebih baik, (2) badan lebih bugar, (2) tidak mudah sakit, (3) tidak mudah mengantuk dan merasa lelah, (4) tidur lebih nyenyak,  (5) mudah berkonsentrasi atau fokus Ketika mengikuti pembelajaran, dan (6) merasa lebih bahagia ketika bermain dan belajar.

Abstract

Background: The low level of public understanding about tuberculosis (21.9%) and the limited implementation of home ventilation as a preventive measure (31.3%) prompted the launch of the “SEHATI LESTARI” program, which focuses on strengthening health cadres to create a tuberculosis-free community. Objective: This activity aimed to increase community knowledge about TB prevention, promote the adoption of healthy behaviors, and empower health cadres as agents of change at the community level. Method: The program, conducted from 16 September to 15 October 2024 with 32 participants in Tunge Village, combined interactive lectures, simulations, and field audits to ensure a comprehensive understanding. Results: Post-activity evaluations demonstrated significant improvements: participants’ knowledge of TB increased from 21.9% to 71.9%, the adoption of home ventilation practices rose from 31.3% to 68.8%, and 32 trained health cadres were successfully established. Conclusion: This community-based empowerment program through health cadres proved effective in improving knowledge and behavior related to TB prevention. To ensure program sustainability, it is recommended to establish a monthly cadre forum facilitated by the community health center (Puskesmas), integrate the TB education module into routine Posyandu activities, and develop adaptable intervention designs for other agricultural areas with similar characteristics.
