Abstract

Scientific literacy is the answer to prepare students to face the challenges of the 21st century. The resulting e-booklet product with the theme of food security based on science literacy is an alternative solution to improve students scientific literacy skills. The food security e-booklet contains food sources, substances contained in food and food processing methods which are compiled based on the integration of aspects of scientific literacy and problem based learning models. The research method used is the 4D development model developed by S. Thiagarajan, et al. (1974). However, the research on the development of this e-booklet was modified according to needs, consisting of the define, design, and develop stages. The assessment was carried out using a validation questionnaire that was assessed by a team of experts with two science education lecturers and one science teacher. The results of this study obtained the average value of the feasibility of the e-booklet on the theme of food security based on scientific literacy as a whole with a percentage of 84% in the very feasible category. Therefore, this e-booklet with the theme of food security reflects students' scientific literacy as a whole and is suitable for use.  Keywords: e-booklet, scientific literacy, food security, problem based learning models

Abstract

Development of Student Worksheets (LKPD) Based on Science Process Skills (KPS) The theme of Air Pollution to Develop Critical Thinking Skills for Junior High School Students aims to present the results of the development and describe the feasibility level of the LKPD that has been made. The research method used is the innovative work of an item or Research and Development (RD) and the 4-D model created by Thiagarajan et al., (1974) in which there are four phases of research and development, but in this case it only concentrates on 3 stages. , especially the definition stage (Define), the planning stage (Design), and the development stage (Develop). The expert validation questionnaire instrument sheet was used to test the feasibility of a product and was evaluated by two expert lecturers and two science educators. Information dissected descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the development of LKPD Based on Science Process Skills with the Theme of Air Pollution to Develop Critical Thinking Skills for Junior High School Students, which were viewed from the expert's assessment, scored 80.25% and were included in the proper category. Thus, the LKPD based on science process skills developed is suitable for use at the junior high school level.Keywords: Student Worksheet, Science Process Skills, Air Pollution, Critical Thinking Ability, and Junior High School.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasari adanya permalasahan dimana selama pembelajaran dalam jaringan (daring), peserta didik kurang mendapatkan pengalaman keterampilan praktikum kemudian belum menyisipkan kemampuan abad 21 dalam pembelajaran secara optimal. Sehingga dikembangkan produk Electronic-Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (E-LKPD) dengan model Hands on Activity untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendapatkan hasil efisiensi E-LKPD model Hands on Activity tema Tekanan dalam Tubuh untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMP. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model 4D oleh Thiagarajan, dkk. (1974) terdiri atas Pendefinisian, Perancangan, Pengembangan (dibatasi hanya sampai tahapan uji coba kelompok kecil). Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen lembar angket validasi yang digunakan oleh ahli bahan ajar dan ahli praktisi IPA untuk mengukur tingkat kevalidan serta lembar angket respon peserta didik untuk mengukur tingkat efisiensi E-LKPD. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian, produk E-LKPD mendapatkan tingkat kevalidan sebesar 86.1% dengan kategori "Sangat Valid" oleh ahli bahan ajar, dan tingkat kevalidan sebesar 92.5% dengan kategori "Sangat Valid" oleh ahli praktisi. Hasil efisiensi menunjukkan produk E-LKPD mendapatkan nilai sebesar 96.8% dengan kategori "Sangat Efisien" untuk hasil angket respon peserta didik dan mendapat nilai sebesar 59.4% dengan kategori "Efisien" untuk hasil pembelajaran.

Abstract

The development of an e-book with the help of a professional flip pdf application with the theme of environmental preservation is motivated by the learning objectives of Natural Sciences (IPA), including to foster a positive attitude and students' awareness of the importance of protecting the environment. Achievement of research objectives in e-book development to empower students' environmental care attitudes through a series of activities contained in e-book systematics. This research was conducted in December 2022. The research method used was Research and Development RD, the research design used Borg and Gall and used 7 of 10 simplified research stages, adjusted based on research and development needs, namely up to the product revision stage. The instrument used was a validation sheet for the validity test which was carried out by 3 validators namely teaching material experts, material experts and science subject teachers. The development of the e-book is carried out using indicators of environmental care, namely Basic Competency (KD) which is used according to the theme of environmental preservation, presentation of pictures and videos about the dangers of environmental pollution around students' residences, about orders to implement greenery and dispose of waste in its place, as well as case studies on environmental pollution. The results of the development of the e-book were then validated by 3 validators with an average percentage of 92.9% with the criteria of "Very Good" which means that the e-book shows valid results and can be used for the trial stage.

Abstract

The implementation of Natural Sciences learning is not only limited to the ability of students to remember and passively pay attention to the teacher's presentation, but in learning natural sciences, students must participate and play an active role in finding out the concepts that will be and are being studied so that in practice it requires a method for solving problems about nature systematically. To overcome these problems, the thing that can be done is to apply Problem-Based Learning to foster students' problem-solving abilities. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of validity and readability of the E-Module based on Problem-Based Learning with the Theme of Substance Pressure to Grow the Problem-Solving Ability of Grade VIII Middle School Students. This development research uses the Thiagarajan development model, which consists of 3 stages: define, design, and develop. The subjects in this study were 2 expert lecturers, 2 materials and teaching materials experts, 3 expert practitioners, namely natural science teachers, and 30 class VIII students. Data from the study were collected using interview sheets, validation sheets, and readability questionnaire sheets. The results of the validity of the E-Module were obtained with an average percentage of 87.25% with a very valid category. After being revised, a readability test was carried out on students, and the result was 90.65% with a very good category so that the E-Module created contains material and language that is easy to understand, as well as the writing of letters and pictures according to the material.

Abstract

Development of Student Worksheets (LKS) based on guided inquiry models on the theme of the dangers of polluted water to foster students' creative thinking begins with a problem during interview with a science teacher that textbooks alone are not capable of helping students grow creative thinking, students still lack a role in learning process. This development is a worksheet which contains the steps of the learning quided inquiry model contained in the content section of the worksheet which contains problem formulation, making hypotheses, designing experiments with work steps, conducting experiments to obtain data and making conclusions so that it can help foster students' creative thinking abilities. This research is a research and development (Research & Development) using four-D (4-D) research model and a modified Thiagarajan research design because the dissiminate stage was not carried out. The results showed that the development of guided inquiry-based student worksheets on the theme of the dangers of polluted water to foster students' creative thinking was carried out through 3 stages, namely the defining stage (Define), the design stage (Design), and the development stage (Develop). The level of validity successively scores 80% with valid criteria based on the validation of material and media experts and 85% with very valid criteria and teacher's assessment gets a score of 92% with very valid criteria. Based on the results of the overall validity test, an average value of 85.6% is obtained with very valid criteria.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the availability of the Science Process Skills (SPS) component in a seventh grade science textbook for junior high school students with a global warming topic. The aspects of SPS analyzed are observing, classifying, interpreting, asking questions, using tools and materials, applying concepts and communicating.  This is a descriptive study that makes use of the documentation analysis method  to describe the emergence of SPS indicators for each sub-material which is summarized in the theme of global warming in science textbooks.  The objects of this research are science textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture and science textbooks published by Erlangga.  In this study, documentation approaches were used to obtain data.  The instrument used in this study was asheet instrument checklist.  Descriptive statistics are used to analyze research data by computing the number of components of the analysis according to the SPS aspect. The findings of the study of the formation of the SPS component in science textbooks, the emergence of the SPS aspect that dominates is in Book 1 of the Kemendikbud publisher with a percentage level of 75% in the Appropriate category.  Meanwhile, Book 2 was published by Erlangga, with a percentage rate of 54% appearing in the SPS aspect with a fairly appropriate category.  Based on this, Book 1 publisher of the Ministry of Education and Culture is more supportive in developing students' Science Process Skills (SPS). Keywords: Science Process Skills (SPS), Class VII Junior High School Science Textbook, Global Warming   ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan gambaran ketersediaan aspek Keterampilan Proses Sains (KPS) dalam buku teks pelajaran IPA SMP kelas VII tema pemanasan global.  Aspek KPS yang dianalisis adalah aspek mengamati, mengelompokkan, menafsirkan, mengajukan pertanyaan, menggunakan alat dan bahan, menerapkan konsep dan berkomunikasi.  Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan analisis dokumentasi untuk menggambarkan kemunculan indikator KPS setiap sub materi yang terangkum dalam tema pemanasan global dalam buku teks IPA.  Objek penelitian ini adalah buku teks IPA terbitan Kemendikbud dan buku teks IPA terbitan Erlangga.  Dalam penelitian ini, pendekatan dokumentasi digunakan untuk memperoleh data. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah instrumen lembar checklist. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan statistik deskriptif dengan menghitung jumlah komponen analisis sesuai dengan aspek KPS.  Hasil analisis kemunculan aspek KPS pada buku teks IPA yang dianalisis, kemunculan aspek KPS yang mendominasi yaitu pada Buku 1 penerbit Kemendikbud dengan tingkat persentase sebesar 75% dengan kategori Sesuai.  Sedangkan Buku 2 penerbit Erlangga dengan tingkat persentase kemunculan aspek KPS sebesar 54% dengan kategori cukup sesuai.  Berdasarkan hal tersebut, Buku 1 penerbit Kemendikbud lebih menunjang dalam mengembangkan Keterampilan Proses Sains (KPS) siswa. Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of validity of Macromedia Flash 8 to foster students' creative thinking. Macromedia flash 8 is to make it easier for students to learn science on the theme of green growth. This research is a type of development research with reference to the opinion of Borg & Gall. The product developed based on the research is macromedia flash 8 for class VII students which contains material about green growth. The research was conducted in a limited way with the subjects for conducting trials in the research being media material experts and science teachers from 2 different schools as practitioners in schools. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire, the questionnaire was used to assess the developed Macromedia Flash 8. The questionnaire contains a number of indicators both in terms of material content and product appearance. The resulting data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the validity of this study reached 87.50% with very valid criteria.

Abstract

Abstract Decreasing the characters such as effort on work hard could be improve in learning process, especially to apply concepts understanding in daily life. Developing characters on education could be realized by develop learning sets equipment with characters aspect included. Based on the description, the purpose of this research is to develop sets instructional equipment of Science included characters aspect using Problem Based Learning (PBL) in General Biology learning. Development procedure is adapted from 4D model development proposed by Thiagarajan. Instruments of this research are validation sheet, test (pre-test, post-test), and the observation sheet using authentic asesmen in character developing and critical thinking. Data was anlyzed by expert validation result, asesmen results by 3rd semester studenst based on practical guide, and 1 st semester students test (pre-test and post-test) result. The results were analyzed on percentage and decision making on learning sets equipment revisions. Based on percentage result, overall learning sets equipment showed in very good qualification or good qualification category and not revised. Improvement of learning sets equipment could be sustain based on experts or students suggestions. Observation result showed many of students have argumentation ability, deduction, induction, and evaluation skills. Keywords: Sets Instructional Equipment, Character, Authentic Asesmen,  Abstrak Menurunnya salah satu karakter, seperti kemauan berkerja keras dapat diupayakan dengan proses pembelajaran yang tidak hanya berorientasi pada pemahaman konsep, melainkan penerapannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Peran pendidikan dalam pengembangan karakter salah satunya dapat diwujudkan dalam penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran bermuatan karakter. Berdasarkan uraian tersebut maka tujuan penelitian pengembangan ini ialah mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran IPA bermuatan karakter, khususnya dalam Mata Kuliah Biologi Umum dengan menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Berdasarkan Masalah (PBM). Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran mengikuti serangkaian model pengembangan 4D dari Thiagarajan. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar validasi, soal tes (pre-test, post-test), dan lembar observasi dengan menggunakan asesmen autentik dalam pengembangan karakter maupun kemampuan berpikir kritis. Data yang dianalisis terdiri dari data hasil validasi ahli, hasil penilaian panduan praktikum oleh mahasiswa semester 3, dan hasil pengerjaan soal pre-test maupun post-test pada mahasiswa semester 1. Skor penilaian dari ahli maupun mahasiswa dianalisis dalam bentuk persentase dan dilakukan pengambilan keputusan revisi perangkat pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil penghitungan persentase, keseluruhan perangkat pembelajaran menunjukkan kualifikasi sangat layak maupun telah layak dan tidak perlu direvisi. Perbaikan berkelanjutan untuk keseluruhan perangkat pembelajaran tetap dilakukan berdasarkan saran ahli maupun mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, beberapa mahasiswa menunjukkan kemampuannya dalam memberikan argumen, melakukan deduksi, induksi, dan evaluasi. Kata Kunci: Perangkat Pembelajaran, Karakter, Asesmen Autentik

Abstract

The aim of this study is examining the learning of Integrated Sciences through PCK based guided inquiry on prospective science teacher students. This research method was descriptive qualitative involving 33 science teacher students who taking Integrated Science 1 Subject in academic year 2016/2017. The research instrument used was the observation sheet to know the implementation PCK based guided inquiry. The results showed that the implementation of the activities of lecturer and science teacher students during the learning process using PCK based guided inquiry was very good conducted.
