Abstract

This study aims to find out the improvement of students critical thinking skills with the application of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model on the subject matter of two linear equations system to mathematics learning in class VIII at SMP Negeri 10 Padangsidimpuan.This study is a quasi experimental research using two class, one as experimental class and one as control class. The technique used in research sampling is cluster random sampling, that is experimental class using contextual teaching and learning model and control class using conventional learning model.The result of research indicate that critical thinking thinking of student mathematics has been done with Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) with an average of 78.48%, while with direct learning model with an average of 70.92%. In addition, hypothesis testing using t test with a significant level of 0.05 obtained the value of test Fa> Ftable = 2.269 with the value Ftable = 2.028. Because Fcount> Ftable, the decision of rejection test H0 so that it can be concluded that better critical thinking ability of student mathematics by using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model compared with direct learning model. Keyword: Contextual Teaching and Learning, The Ability of Critical Thinking

Abstract

The teaching and learning activity is a very important role in education because it involves the process of transferring knowledge, both at the basic and higher education levels. Efforts to instill understanding for students can be done by using modules, various learning models, and learning media. In the current digital era, there are various visual applications that can be utilized as learning media, one of which is Canva. Canva-based learning media was developed in this research for the Engineering Physics course. This research is R & D type with 4D model. This research was held on first semester students of the Computer Science study program in Graha Nusantara University Padangsidimpuan in year 2023/2024.  Validation sheet instrument was used to collect data. The collected assessment results are converted to a Likert scale. The results from the validator show 84% for material validation and 81% for media validation, both of which are included in the valid criteria. Thus, Canva-based learning media is feasible to using in Engineering Physics courses in force and motion subject.

Abstract

Penggunaan teknologi dalam pendidikan modern secara signifikan mempermudah akses informasi dan fleksibilitas belajar, memungkinkan mahasiswa dapat belajar kapanpun dan dimana saaja. Teknologi mempermudah interaksi dan meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan, tetapi di Universitas Graha Nusantara (UGN), khususnya Program Studi Ilmu Komputer, proses manual dalam pengisian Kartu Rencana Studi (KRS) masih menimbulkan tantangan bagi mahasiswa dan staf administrasi dalam urusan kurikulum dan jadwal perkuliahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang sistem informasi Kartu Rencana Studi (KRS) Program Studi Ilmu Komputer Universitas Graha Nusantara (UGN) guna meningkatkan efisiensi administrasi, akses informasi, akurasi data, pengalaman akademik mahasiswa, dan kualitas layanan pendidikan. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D). Menggunakan metode V-shaped sebagai metode pengembangan sistem dan Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) sebagai metode pendekatan system. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sistem informasi Kartu Rencana Studi (Sikardi) yang memfasilitasi perencanaan studi semester, menampilkan mata kuliah beserta ruangan dan dosen pengampunya. Mahasiswa dapat mengisi dan mendapatkan KRS setelah persetujuan dari Dosen Akademik dan mengunggah bukti pembayaran kuliah untuk diverifikasi oleh Staf Program Studi. Sistem ini meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas perencanaan studi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the planning, process and evaluation of learning using e-learning based learning media on the use of smartphones in mathematics at SMP Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research with research subjects consisting of class VII mathematics teachers, amounting to 2 teachers and class VII students totaling 24 people with the researcher as the key instrument. The data collection procedures for this research are observation techniques, interviews, and documentation using smartphone media.The results show that, firstly in terms of planning, teachers have prepared themselves to face students properly using technology on smartphones. This can be seen from the readiness of planning archives and their compatibility with PermenDikbud No. 22 of 2019. Second, the teaching and learning process that is carried out encourages students think more critically, actively and independently in accepting the material presented. Third, the evaluation which is held every two to three times a week is going well.
