Abstract

E-learning merupakan ide baru yang lahir dari kemajuan teknologi di bidang pendidikan. Penemuan e-learning sejalan dengan sikap aliran progresivisme yang meyakini bahwa pendidikan harus selalu menyesuaikan dengan perkembangan zaman. Masalahnya, aliran progresivisme dan e-learning selain menawarkan perubahan yang tidak hanya merugikan dunia pendidikan, tetapi juga membawa sejumlah kemudahan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji e-learning dari sudut pandang progresivisme sehingga dapat dilihat dengan jelas seberapa cocok kedua konsep tersebut dengan pendidikan Indonesia saat ini. Kajian pustaka terhadap berbagai tulisan yang berkaitan dengan e-learning dengan menggunakan teori aliran progresivisme digunakan sebagai bagian dari metode penelitian. Kesimpulannya, ada kesamaan antara filosofi progresivisme dan e-learning, yaitu dari segi arah inovasi dan perubahan pendidikan. E-learning berfokus terutama pada pengembangan teknik pembelajaran, sedangkan progresivisme mencakup pertumbuhan semua aspek pendidikan, termasuk teknik, materi, kurikulum, dan tujuan, agar tetap mengikuti perkembangan zaman. Aliran progresivisme memandang pendidikan sebagai sesuatu yang dinamis dalam bergerak menuju kemajuan zaman, dan e-learning merupakan respon dari dunia pendidikan terhadap perubahan tersebut. Akibatnya, e-learning adalah produk progresivisme.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the discovery learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Marancar, Algebra Operations Material. This type of research is quasi-experimental research. The research population was all students of class VIII odd semester of SMP Negeri 1 Marancar TP. 2023/2024 which consists of 2 classrooms totaling 42 class VIII students. The control class is class VIII-1 and the experimental class is class VIII-2. The normality test value for the control class is 0.038˃0.05, meaning it is normally distributed. Then for the experimental (treatment) class, the calculated L value was 0.392 ˃ 0.05, meaning it was normally distributed. So it can be concluded that the data distribution in this study is normally distributed. Meanwhile, the homogeneity result is a significance value of 0.209˃0.05. This means that it can be concluded that the data distribution for the control class and experimental class has homogeneous data conditions. Furthermore, the tests carried out showed that there was an influence of the discovery learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Marancar. Based on this table, the Sig value can be seen. (2-Tailed) is 0.894˃ of 0.05. So Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there is an influence of the discovery learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Marancar. Abstract

Program PKM ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam pengelolaan kelas konstruktivis melalui program pendampingan yang meliputi workshop dan pelatihan. Fokus dari program ini adalah pada penerapan prinsip-prinsip konstruktivisme dalam pengajaran, penggunaan teknologi, dan pemberian umpan balik konstruktif. Program ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan dan melibatkan guru dari berbagai jenjang pendidikan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar guru merasa materi workshop relevan (92%) dan mengalami peningkatan pemahaman tentang konstruktivisme (88%) serta keterampilan pengajaran (85%). Peningkatan motivasi untuk menerapkan konstruktivisme tercatat sebesar 90%, sementara kesiapan menggunakan teknologi mencapai 87%. Penggunaan teknik konstruktivis di kelas juga meningkat secara signifikan, dengan penggunaan teknik eksplorasi naik dari 30% menjadi 75%, penggunaan proyek berbasis masalah dari 25% menjadi 70%, penggunaan teknologi dari 35% menjadi 80%, dan pemberian umpan balik konstruktif dari 40% menjadi 85%. Umpan balik dari guru menunjukkan manfaat signifikan dari program pendampingan, dengan saran untuk perbaikan mencakup penyediaan lebih banyak sumber daya dan dukungan tambahan. Program ini berhasil memberikan dampak positif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan pengajaran dan motivasi guru dalam menerapkan pendekatan konstruktivis.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dan keterampilan para guru dalam merancang bahan ajar digital, khususnya dalam pembuatan E-LKPD (Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik Elektronik) dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi Canva. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 15 guru yang mengajar di SD Negeri 200401 Padangsidimpuan. Metode yang diterapkan mencakup ceramah, praktik, demonstrasi, dan diskusi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket yang diberikan kepada peserta setelah workshop, dengan tujuan untuk mengevaluasi respons guru terhadap penggunaan aplikasi Canva, yang mencakup aspek materi, penyampaian materi, dan kegiatan praktik. Data dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode persentase. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman dan kompetensi peserta terhadap materi mencapai 91,25% (kategori sangat baik), penyampaian materi sebesar 91,03% (kategori sangat baik), dan kegiatan praktik mencapai 90,875% (kategori sangat baik). Para peserta memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap pelaksanaan workshop tentang penyusunan bahan ajar digital lainnya dengan bantuan aplikasi Canva, dan mereka berharap kegiatan serupa dengan tema yang berbeda dapat diadakan kembali di SD Negeri 200401 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

For a variety of urgent reasons, opportunities to cheat in order to conduct scientific work continue to be developed. As a result, academics, particularly undergraduates, are prone to plagiarism. It is possible to teach pupils how to utilize the Zotero application. The goal is to improve pupils' writing skills by using the Zotero application. The service implementation team's strategy includes socializing and training based on their area of competence. For one day in a row, intriguing activities are carried out. The training method is implemented in stages, beginning with planning and concluding with evaluation.More instructions are offered, beginning with the generation of material and progressing to practical tasks. The course outcomes reveal that students who participated in the training increased their skills using the Zotero program. This is evidenced by the evaluation findings, which revealed that 85% of the students enrolled in the program were becoming more proficient in handling references and selecting the appropriate references to include in scientific articles.

Abstract

Language acquisition is a complex process deeply influenced by cultural context, which shapes learners' cognitive frameworks, motivation, and communicative competence. This study investigates the critical role of culture in language learning and proposes pedagogical strategies to enhance language instruction in higher education. By integrating cultural elements into curricula, educators can foster deeper linguistic proficiency and intercultural awareness, preparing students for global communication. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining an extensive literature review, classroom observations, and surveys involving university-level language instructors (N=50) and students (N=100). Findings reveal that culturally responsive teaching methods—such as the use of authentic materials, intercultural exchange programs, and learner-centered approaches that leverage students' cultural backgrounds—significantly improve language acquisition outcomes. The study concludes with practical recommendations for educators to design more inclusive and effective language programs that align with contemporary educational demands.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of Realistic Mathematics Education (PMR) approach on the creative thinking ability of VIII grade students at SMPN 3 Muara Batang Gadis. The research used quasi-experiment method with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class that received treatment with the PMR approach and the control class that received conventional learning. Data were collected through a mathematical creative thinking test that included four indicators: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the average posttest scores of the experimental (80.2) and control (70.4) groups, with a t-test result of 6.33 and a p-value of 0.000. In addition, the scores on each creative thinking indicator were higher in the PMR group than the control group. This shows that the PMR approach is able to improve students' creative thinking skills as a whole. PMR-based learning encourages students to think more flexibly, creatively, and be able to connect math concepts with real life. Thus, PMR can be an effective alternative learning model in improving the quality of mathematics learning in secondary schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of initial mathematics ability on the critical thinking ability of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan in solving mathematics problems. Using a qualitative descriptive method, this study involved six students from class VII-D who were selected based on the initial ability test, which was categorized into high, medium, and low. The analysis focuses on four aspects of critical thinking: interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. Based on the data obtained through critical thinking tests and interviews, the results showed significant variations in critical thinking ability according to students' initial ability levels. Students with high initial ability showed full mastery of all four critical thinking indicators, while students with moderate ability achieved two indicators, and students with low initial ability did not fulfil the critical thinking indicators. These results indicate that initial math ability significantly affects student's critical thinking skills in the context of mathematical problem-solving. The implications of this study provide important insights for developing educational strategies that target improving critical thinking skills, taking into account students' initial mathematical abilities.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the great improvement of students' creative thinking skills through the Recitation Plus Snowball Throwing learning model of material mathematics Learning Form and Operation of Fractional Numbers in grades VII-2 MTs YPKS Padangsidimpuan Year 2020/2021. This type of research is Class Action Research (PTK) consisting of 2 Cycles. The subject of the study was class VII-2 of 20 people. Women as many as 10 men and 10 men. The object taken in this study is the use of the Recitation Plus Snowball Throwing learning model in an effort to improve students' creative mathematical thinking skills on the subject of Fractional Number Form and Operation. The results showed that the results of the student's creative thinking skills test by applying the Recitation Plus Snowball Throwing learning model with a minimum assessment criteria of "Sufficient" in cycle I obtained a percentage of 70% and in cycle II there was an increase to 85%. Based on the observation results of student activity in cycle I, student activity was obtained by 62.63% with category "Less" and in cycle II there was an increase in student activity to 83.13% with the category "Good". As for the observation of teacher ability in cycle I obtained an average score of 2.8 with the category "Good Enough" and in cycle II increased to get an average score of 3.4 with the category "Good".

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan model Hands on minds on activity dengan pendekatan kontekstual dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika secara efektif pada siswa SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus dalam setiap siklus terdiri dari 2 kali pertemuan. Pada setiap siklus, siswa diberi tes akhir untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa pada materi aturan pencacahan. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah tes. Hasil penelitian dari 30 orang siswa pada tes awal terdapat 11 orang siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar yaitu 36,7% dengan nilai rata- rata 53,8 ternyata pada tes awal belum tercapai maka harus dilanjutkan ke siklus I ternyata tingkat ketuntasan belajar siswa sedikit meningkat yaitu terdapat 16 orang siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar yaitu 53,3% dengan nilai rata-rata 60,8, ternyata pada siklus I belum tercapai maka harus dilanjutkan ke siklus II ternyata tingkat ketuntasan belajar siswa semakin meningkat yaitu terdapat 26 orang siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar 86,7% dengan rata- rata 73,9. Berdasarkan pembahasan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa adanya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa pada pokok bahasan aturan pencacahan di kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023 melalui penerapan model Hands on mind on activity dengan pendekatan kontekstual.
