Abstract

The government has been started the School Literacy Movement (GLS) program since 2015, which is regulated in Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 23 of 2015 concerning the growth of Character. Literacy and numeracy are fundamental competencies which have an important role in determining the quality of a nation. Kampus Mengajar is one of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programs, has come to provide a solution. The activities carried out in the Kampus Mengajar program are assisting with teaching, assisting with technology adaptation, and assisting school administration. Kampus Mengajar students focus on improving the quality of learning and numeracy and literacy skills on elementary school (SD), junior high school (SMP) and vocational high school (SMK) students. One of them is at SD Negeri 03 Sepauk, Sintang Regency. This activity provides experience results that students may not necessarily get through lectures. Implementation of Kampus Mengajar activities can provide knowledge for students to become individuals who have high loyalty and dedication to the country through education, students can also gain insight and experience outside of college.

Abstract

This research aims to develop interactive video learning media based on local culture to improve the fourth grade of students learning outcomes, especially energy in everyday life thema. This is a research and development using the ADDIE method which is analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects involved 110 students from several elementary schools in Sintang. The data collected through expert validation, user responses, as well as various statistical tests such as validity, reliability and hypothesis testing. The research results showed that the media developed was considered very feasible by media experts (85.93%) and appropriate by material experts (75%). Student and teacher responses to this media were also good, with scores of 80.36% and 77% respectively in the wide-scale test. The increase in student learning outcomes can be seen from the pretest score of 28.81% and posttest 78.36%, so this media has proven to be effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of teachers in implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in Grade III elementary school. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with teachers and Grade III students at SD Negeri 13 Laung, Kecamatan Seberuang, Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu as the subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. Data validity was ensured through triangulation techniques. The results indicate that (1) the implementation of PBL not only successfully achieved the learning objectives on rights and obligations but also enhanced students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills; (2) students’ responses to PBL were very positive, showing active engagement, improved problem-solving and social skills, increased independence and learning motivation, and long-term benefits in developing critical thinking abilities. This study demonstrates that PBL effectively supports both cognitive and social-emotional development in elementary school students.

Abstract

In line with the vision and mission of cultural preservation of the Ministry of National Education and Culture, cultural development is prioritized on Increasing Awareness and Understanding of National Identity and Character; Increasing Public Appreciation of Diversity, as well as Creativity of Cultural Values, traditions, beliefs, history, Art, and Film; Improving the Quality of Management, Protection, Development, and Utilization of Cultural Heritage; Increasing Internalization and Cultural Diplomacy; Development of Cultural Resources; Improving Cultural Facilities and Infrastructure. In fact, in the current global era, the transformation is progressing very rapidly which then leads Indonesian society to a knowledge-based society without losing the national identity. Seeing the current phenomenon in the implementation of the independent curriculum in schools, especially at the elementary school level. Where literacy skills are one of the priorities of educational implementation in schools. However, a constraint is the lack of student interest in reading. One of the causes of student low interest in reading is due to the lack of interesting reading materials for students. This is one of the reasons for the urgency of developing this Pocket Book. The Pocket Book that will be developed with special characteristics based on local culture, namely folklore of the Suku Dayak Desa in Sintang Regency. The method in this research is the Development Method, namely creating and developing a Pocket Book of Folk Stories of the Suku Dayak Desa.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research aims to improve narrative writing skills using a series of pictures as media among fourth-grade students in the Indonesian language subject at the elementary school level. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, involving 11 fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 02 Nobal in the 2023/2024 academic year as research subjects. Data collection techniques included teacher and student observation, tests, and interviews. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study are as follows: (a) The use of picture series media in the learning process was effective, as evidenced by student learning activities in Cycle I with an average of 55.76% (categorized as fair). In Cycle II, the average student activity increased to 84.54% (categorized as good), indicating an improvement of 28.78%. (b) Students’ learning outcomes from the narrative writing test in Cycle I showed an average score of 61.82 with a classical completeness of 63.63% (fair category), while in Cycle II, the average score rose to 83.62 with a classical completeness of 90.9% (very good category). (c) Students responded very positively to the use of picture series media, as evidenced by their enjoyment of learning Indonesian using this medium.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the song Satu Nusa Satu Bangsa on the learning motivation of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 29 Nenak Tembulan, Sintang, West Kalimantan. The study employed a qualitative research design using a taxonomic analysis approach. The research subjects included teachers, school administrators, students of SD Negeri 29 Nenak Tembulan, and experts in education and music learning. Data collection was carried out through perception-based observations and music listening activities. Data were analyzed through field observations and by examining the students' conditions in the classroom while listening to the song Satu Nusa Satu Bangsa. The results indicated that, based on observations, students showed seriousness and spontaneously sang Satu Nusa Satu Bangsa. After listening to the song, students' learning motivation increased, as evidenced by their enthusiasm in singing and internalizing the message of the song. Following the singing activity, students appeared more refreshed, more enthusiastic about receiving lessons, and more prepared for learning activities. This study offers insights for classroom teachers, suggesting that listening to or singing a national song before beginning a lesson can positively impact students' learning motivation.
