Abstract

This research discuss about The Effects of Implementing Workshop on Radio Broadcasting Class Towards Students Speaking Ability.The purposes are to know whether there is improvement in student speaking ability while conducting Workshop on Radio Broadcasting. The participants of this research are English Department students of State Polytechnic of Padang who attend Workshop on Broadcasting course in academic period 2015-2016 . The data are collected through class observation, assessment, and questionnaire. The observation data shows that the students’ articulation, intonation, and expression in delivering the radio program are become better because they trained to speak clearly and in various way. Meanwhile, the questionnaire data shows that there were 60% students agree that w|Workshop on Radio Broadcasting class is important to improve their speaking ability, 68% students agree that they can improve their grammar, 72% students agree that they can improve their vocabulary, 56% students agree that they can express their idea, and their articulation and speaking speed become better, 72% students agree that they can speak more fluent and their accuracy and 60% students agree that by practicing as a radio announcer, news reader and reporter, their self confident is improve. The average score for the students’ accent was 2,96, means that they have “Foreign accent” requires concentrated listening, and mispronunciations lead to occasional misunderstanding  and apparent errors in grammar or vocabulary. The average score for grammar was 3,08, means that students have frequent errors showing some major pattern uncontrolled and causing occasional irritation and misunderstanding. For vocabulary, the average score was 3,04, means that their choice  of words sometimes in accurate, limitations of vocabulary prevent discussion of some common professional and social topics. For Fluency, the average score was 3,00, means that the speech is frequently hesitant and jerky; sentences may be left uncompleted. Finally, for comprehension, the average score was 3,16, means that they understand careful, somewhat simplified speech when engaged in dialogue, but may require considerable repetition and rephrasing. Even though the improvement on students speaking ability were not significant, it can be concluded that Workshop on Radio Broadcasting class give positive effect in increasing students speaking ability

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui efektivitas dari sebuah mata pelajaran yang diberikan kepada siswa TKIT Aljabar guna memperbaiki sistem agar mata pelajaran bisa jadi lebih menarik dan lebih menyenangkan yang akan diterapkan kepada siswa siswa agar mata pelajaran tersebut bisa di mengerti oleh siswa siswa. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian kali ini adalah dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif menggunakan program penelitian tindakan kelas survei yang dilakukan kepada orang tua murid siswa TKIT Aljabar. Masalah yang diangkat pada penelitian kali ini adalah bagaimana mengetahui efektivitas dari setiap mata pelajaran yang ada pada TKIT aljabar sehingga bisa memberikan hasil yang baik kepada siswa tersebut oleh karena itu dengan adanya masalah tersebut maka diberikan survei kepada orang tua murid yang bisa melihat langsung hasil dari belajar mata pelajaran yang ada pada TKIT Aljabar dengan menggunakan teori Kemmis & McTaggart. Pada penelitian kali ini menghasilkan sebuah data yang diambil berdasarkan survei kepada orang tua siswa terkait aljabar, dengan data tersebut maka dapat diketahui bahwa efektivitas dari mata kuliah matematika dasar jika menggunakan permainan dadu pada anak usia 5 sampai 6 tahun adalah sangat efektif, karena bisa melihat hasil nilai yang ada pada anak mereka sehingga mata pelajaran matematika merupakan pelajaran yang efektif jika diterapkan dengan permainan dadu

Abstract

Abstrak: Pandemi Covid-19 telah membawa dampak cukup besar terhadap proses belajar mengajar di Indonesia. Kondisi pandemi mengharuskan sistem pembelajaran beralih dari metode tatap muka menjadi metode online. Berdasarkan kondisi di atas, artikel berikut membahas tentang salah satu teknik pengajaran yang digunakan dalam kelas daring speaking di Politeknik Negeri Padang (PNP), yaitu dengan menggunakan media poster digital. Artikel ini mendeskripsikan pengaruh penerapan media poster digital tersebut dalam pembelajaran daring terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa di PNP. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa PNP yang mengambil mata kuliah Speaking practice. Penelitian berbentuk deskriptif kuantitatif dan dilakukan dalam 4 tahap yaitu; perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan evaluasi. Dalam perencanaan, bahan ajar dirancang berdasarkan metode poster comment. Rubrik penilaian yang digunakan terdiri dari kelancaran (fluency), akurasi (accuracy), kejelasan (clarity), intonasi (intonation), volume, dan konten (content). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa mengalami peningkatan yang baik untuk semua aspek penilaian. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengaruh dari penerapan media poster dalam proses pembelajaran memberikan dampak positif terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa dan juga menciptakan atmosfir belajar yang lebih interaktif selama masa pembelajaran daring.Abstract: Covid-19 Pandemic has created a big impact toward educational learning process in Indonesia. Due to that fact, this article discusses about one of the teaching techniques which is used in an online speaking class at Politeknik Negeri Padang (PNP).  This article describes the implementation effect of digital poster media toward the student’s speaking skill at PNP.  The participants of this research are PNP students who take speaking practice subject. The research is a descriptive quantitative study and its done through 4 steps; planning, implementing, observing and evaluating. In planning, the teaching materials are designed based on the poster comment method. The scoring rubric for the speaking assessment consists of fluency, accuracy, clarity, intonation, volume, and content. The results shows that students skill are well raised in all aspects. Thus, it can be concluded that implementation of poster as teaching media gives positive impact to the students’ speaking ability and it creates more interactive learning atmosphere during the online learning hours.

Abstract

Abstract

This study explores the development of a promotional video for Geosite Gua Kelelawar Padayo Indarung, utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) methodology based on the Plomp model. The primary objective is to create an engaging audiovisual tool that highlights the unique features of the geosite and enhances visitor awareness. The research follows three key phases of an R&D method: the preliminary phase, which involves need analysis and planning; the prototyping phase, encompassing production and post-production activities; and the assessment phase, where experts in language and multimedia validate the video. Findings indicate that the promotional video effectively communicates the geosite’s attractions, utilizing descriptive narration and high-quality visuals. Expert feedback suggests areas for improvement, including cave characteristic, several activities done in the spot and clearer navigation information. The study concludes that a well-structured promotional video can significantly enhance public interest and engagement with Gua Kelelawar, serving as a model for similar projects in tourism promotion.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media stick angka terhadap kemampuan berhitung murid kelas I di UPT SDN 54 Barru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian adalah murid kelas I yang mengalami kesulitan dalam berhitung. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media stick angka memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berhitung murid. Murid menjadi lebih aktif, antusias, dan mampu menyelesaikan soal-soal berhitung dengan lebih baik. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar guru menggunakan media stick angka sebagai salah satu alternatif media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung murid.

Abstract

The community service which partner with Padang Basi district is aimed to support the promotion of the new historical tourism destination namely Lobang Jepang Padang Basi. By the cooperation between Padang Education and Culture official and Mapastra FIB Unand, this tourism place has been sucessfully reopenned for public. Beside having historical value, there is also a tunnel and five square bunkers in box shaped embedded under the ground. Looking at the potential of this tourism place, the community service team creates video of Lobang Jepang Padang Basi which can be beneficiary as an information and promotion media. Furthermore, the content of the video can be used as society education media that presents the historical struggle of Minangkabau people in fighting against Japanese colonialism. The activities of community service consist of three steps which are planinng, implementation, and evaluation. While, the video making consists of pre-production, production, and post-production. It is hoped that the customer service activities can give a positive contribution for Padang Basi district and can be usefull for many people.

Abstract

Preparing students for professional communication in English for Journalism requires more than linguistic accuracy; it demands authentic, workplace-oriented learning environments that replicate editorial processes. Despite the increasing use of project-based learning (PBL) in English for Specific Purposes (ESP), few studies have examined digital newsroom simulations aligned with vocational “teaching factory” models. This study evaluates the effectiveness of Crewpers, a student-developed digital journalism platform designed as an authentic newsroom simulation, in enhancing vocational English for Journalism instruction. A quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed with 16 students enrolled in the D4 English for Business and Professional Communication program at a public polytechnic in Indonesia. Using a validated 16-item questionnaire, student perceptions were measured across four dimensions: critical thinking, collaboration, journalistic production, and communication. Paired-sample t-test results revealed statistically significant improvements in all dimensions (p < .001), with the largest gains observed in journalistic production, where students reported greater confidence in producing publishable news content. Students also highlighted features such as real-time editorial feedback, role distribution, and public publishing as central to their learning gains. These findings suggest that Crewpers effectively bridges ESP instruction with professional performance tasks, offering a replicable model of simulation-based pedagogy for vocational contexts. While limited by sample size and reliance on self-reported data, this study underscores the pedagogical value of integrating digital newsroom platforms into ESP and recommends future research using mixed-method designs to assess long-term impacts on writing quality and professional readiness.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of class 2A students through the implementation of the problem based learning model assisted by number puzzle media at UPT SPF SD Inpres Pa'baeng-baeng 1. The type of research used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consisted of 2 cycles. Where each cycle consists of 4 meetings carrying out the learning process with research stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were 29 class 2A students. Data collection from the research results was in the form of observation formats, evaluation tests and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were quantitative and qualitative. The results showed that there was an increase in mathematics learning both in teacher teaching activities and student learning activities. Furthermore, the conclusion of this study is that in learning activities students are more active in following a learning when compared between cycle I to Cycle II and attract more student attention by implementing the PBL model assisted by number puzzle media. This is proven based on the results of the evaluation test, there was an increase from cycle I, where a score of 69% was obtained in the sufficient category, which increased in cycle II, where a score of 92% was obtained in the very good category and the implementation of the problem-based learning model assisted by number puzzle media can improve the Mathematics learning outcomes of class 2A students.
