Abstract

The objectives of this research are to: 1) determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on cognitive learning outcomes; and 2) to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on students' scientific literacy. This type of research is a quasi experiment. The research design of pre-test-post-test non equivalent control group design. The population in this study were all class VII students of SMPN 1 Tanjung North Lombok Regency in the academic year 2017/2018 which consisted of 6 classes. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, in order to obtain class VII 3 as the experimental class and class VII 1 as the control class. The instruments used to collect data were multiple choice questions totaling 20 items to measure student cognitive learning outcomes and essay questions to measure content and the scientific context. Meanwhile, worksheets are used to measure the scientific process. The data analysis technique used two-way ANOVA with a significance level of 0.05% using SPSS 16 for Windows. The results showed that: 1) there was an effect of the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on cognitive learning outcomes (p <0.05); and 2) there is an effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on students' scientific literacy (p <0.05).

Abstract

Bagasse is waste produced from the process of milking or extracting sugarcane stems. Baggase can be optimized in terms of use value and its function as an alternative technology, namely as an active carbon manufacturing material that can be used as a copper (Cu) adsorbent. This study discusses the functional baggase activated carbon group of phosphoric acid and nitric acid using Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) and its application as a copper metal adsorbent in silver craft waste in Ungga Village, Praya, Central Lombok. The production of activated bagasse carbon consists of three stages, namely first dehydration by burning bagasse until it turns into carbon, the second carbonation is heating at 500ºC, carbon results are 100-200 mesh and third, activation by soaking 50 grams of carbon in 500 mL of 20% phosphoric acid and 20% nitric acid for 12 hours. After that the carbon is dried at 110ºC and finally heated at 500ºC for 1 hour. The bagasse carbon that has been made is put into 25 mL of waste water sample with a mass of 2 grams of adsorbent. Samples were then stirred at 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150 minutes contact time variations at a speed of 180 rpm using a batch system. The optimum contact time that is used to calculate the efficiency of copper metal content reduction is by calculating the difference in the metal content of copper metal before it is adsorbed and after it is adsorbed using activated carbon baggase. Concentrations of all copper metals were analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Identification using FTIR spectrophotometer shows that carbon baggase in this study contains functional groups C = O, C = C, C-C, N = O, C = N, C-OH, CH2 and C-H. From the research it was found that the copper metal content in the sample was 14.5710 ppm. The optimum contact time on copper metal adsorption is at 120 minutes contact time which results in optimum adsorption efficiency on copper metal that is 84.88%. Activated carbon baggase is an effective adsorbent to reduce levels of copper metal in silver craft waste.

Abstract

Gunung Tunak Nature Tourism Park is a nature conservation area which is mainly used for tourism and nature recreation. Gunung Tunak Nature Tourism Park is one of 17 conservation areas managed by the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA), located in Mertak Village, Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency. Geographically located between 08º53'30.08º57'30 South Latitude, and 116º24'00” East Longitude. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of soil insects found in the Gunung Tunak Nature Park. This type of research is exploratory descriptive. The sampling method uses pitfall traps. Sampling locations include the park area in front of the butterfly breeding, and in front of the camping ground as posts 1 and 2. Sampling was carried out in the morning (07.00-09.30 WITA), and in the afternoon (16.00-17.30 WITA) with 3 repetitions. Soil insect samples obtained were identified at the level of the order and family at the Biology Laboratory, Mandalika University of Education. The results showed that 6 soil orders were found, namely: Orthoptera, Hymenoptera, Hemiptera, Diptera, Coleoptera, and Scorviones. The highest group of individuals found was the Hymenoptera Order with 93 individuals.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan asesmen kinerja dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas VII MTs Darul Hikmah Darek. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 20 siswa kelas VII MTs Darul Hikmah Darek. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan dua siklus. Data keterampilan proses sains dikumpulkan menggunakan instrument lembar observasi, sedangkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa dikumpulkan menggunakan instrument tes dengan 20 item soal. Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran juga diukur dalam penelitian ini menggunakan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan (RPP). Data penelitianian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) keterlaksanaan RPP pada siklus I mencapai 68% dengan kategori baik, sedangkan pada siklus II mencapai 100% dengan kategori sangat baik; (2) keterampilan proses sains pada siklus I mencapai 55% dengan kategori cukup tinggi, dan pada siklus II mencapai 75% dengan kategori tinggi; dan (3) skor rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada siklus I mencapai 66 dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 40%, sedangkan siklus II mencapai 77 dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 90%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan asesmen kinerja dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada kelas VII MTs Darul Hikmah Darek. The Implementation of Performance Assessment in Biology Practicum Activities to Improve Students' Science Process Skills and Cognitive Learning Outcomes Abstract The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of performance assessment in improving science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes of seventh grade students of MTs Darul Hikmah Darek. The subjects of this study were 20 grade VII students of MTs Darul Hikmah Darek. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) using two cycles. Science process skills data were collected using an observation sheet instrument, while students' cognitive learning outcomes were collected using a test instrument with 20 items of questions. The implementation of learning was also measured in this study using the implementation observation sheet (RPP). The researcch data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed (1) the implementation of the lesson plans in the first cycle reached 68% in the good category, while in the second cycle it reached 100% in the very good category; (2) science process skills in the first cycle reached 55% in the fairly high category, and in the second cycle it reached 75% in the high category; and (3) the average score of students' cognitive learning outcomes in the first cycle reached 66 with classical completeness of 40%, while the second cycle reached 77 with classical completeness of 90%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation of performance assessments can improve science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students in class VII MTs Darul Hikmah Darek.

Abstract

Fitoplankton banyak ditemukan di daerah aliran sungai. Sungai Jangkok merupakan daerah aliran sungai yang mengalir dari pegunungan di wilayah Kabupaten Lombok Barat melintasi Kota Mataram dan paling banyak berinteraksi dengan aktivitas manusia, karena di daerah aliran Sungai Jangkok terdapat 9 bendungan air yang digunakan untuk pengairan sawah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengidentifikasi jenis Fitoplankton di Sungai Jangkok Kota Mataram; dan 2) mengembangkan hasil penelitian tentang Identifikasi Jenis Fitoplankton di Sungai Jangkok Kota Mataram sebagai bahan penyusunan petunjuk praktikum ekologi. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif eksploratif dan penelitian pengembangan. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan teknik observasi, validasi, uji keterbacaan, dan dokumentasi, serta menggunakan plot berukuran 1 m x 1 m. Teknik analisis data menggunakan buku identifikasi dan teknik persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, terdapat 9 individu Fitoplankton yang terdiri dari 3 spesies yang telah ditemukan, meliputi: Protoperidinium cinctum, Bacilaria paradoxa, dan Chatocerros boreale. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata untuk uji validasi petunjuk praktikum sebesar 75% dalam kategori valid, dan uji keterbacaan mahasiswa sebesar 77% dalam kategori baik. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa, petunjuk praktikum yang telah disusun berada dalam kategori baik dan tidak perlu direvisi.

Abstract

Jamur tiram merupakan salah satu komoditas pangan yang diminati oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Permintaan jamur tiram terus meningkat setiap tahunnya, sehingga kebutuhannya belum terpenuhi secara maksimal. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat ialah kurangnya pemahaman tentang budi daya jamur tiram. Selain itu, masih ada masyarakat yang ingin menambah penghasilan dalam rumah tangga. Solusi yang dapat ditawarkan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut ialah memberikan pengetahuan tentang budidaya jamur tiram, dan mengarahkan masyarakat untuk menambah penghasilan keluarga dengan budidaya jamur tiram skala rumah tangga. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan melalui empat tahapan, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, monitoring, dan evaluasi. Materi yang disampaikan dalam pelatihan adalah pengenalan jamur tiram, manfaat, syarat tumbuh, dan cara budidaya jamur tiram. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan dengan langkah sebagai berikut: Penakaran dan pencampuran media tumbuh; Pemeraman media; Pengisian media ke dalam baglog; Sterilisasi baglog; Pendinginan baglog; Inokulasi bibit jamur F3; Inkubasi dan pemindahan baglog ke dalam kumbung; Pemeliharaan; dan Pemanenan. Kegiatan pendampingan sampai dengan panen perdana dilakukan selama 13 minggu dengan rincian dua minggu pembuatan baglog, sterilisasi dan inokulasi bibit ke dalam baglog, delapan minggu inkubasi baglog sampai dengan siap dibuahkan, dua minggu proses pemindahan baglog ke dalam kumbung budi daya sampai siap dipanen, panen perdana jamur tiram hasil budidaya mitra sebanyak 5 kg. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa peserta pelatihan budidaya jamur tiram berhasil melakukan cara budidaya jamur tiram dari proses pembuatan media baglog, inokulasi bibit, pemeliharaan bibit selama diruang inkubasi dan kumbung, serta pemanenan. Dengan keberhasilan pengabdian ini, masyarakat sangat antusias untuk budidaya jamur tiram. Oyster Mushroom Cultivation Training in Rempek Village, Gangga District, North Lombok Regency Oyster mushrooms are one of the food commodities that are in demand by Indonesian people. Demand for oyster mushrooms continues to increase every year, so their needs have not been met optimally. The problem faced by the community is a lack of understanding about oyster mushroom cultivation. Apart from that, there are still community who want to increase their household income. The solution that can be offered to solve this problem is to provide knowledge about oyster mushroom cultivation, and direct people to increase their family income by cultivating oyster mushrooms on a household scale. The service activities had been carried out through four stages, namely preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The material presented in the training is an introduction to oyster mushrooms, benefits, growing conditions, and how to cultivate oyster mushrooms. Training activities are carried out with the following steps: Dosing and mixing the growing media; Media screening; Filling media into baglog; Baglog sterilization; Baglog cooling; Inoculation of F3 fungal seeds; Incubation and transfer of baglog into kumbung; Maintenance; and Harvesting. Assistance activities up to the first harvest are carried out for 13 weeks, with details of two weeks of baglog making, sterilization and inoculation of seeds into baglog, eight weeks of incubation of baglog until it is ready to be fruit, two weeks of the process of transferring baglog into cultivation kumbung until it is ready to be harvested, first harvest 5 kg of partner-cultivated oyster mushrooms. The results of community service show that participants in the oyster mushroom cultivation training were successful in cultivating oyster mushrooms from the process of making baglog media, inoculating seeds, maintaining seeds during incubation and kumbung rooms, as well as harvesting. With the success of this service, the community is very enthusiastic about cultivating oyster mushrooms.

Abstract

This service activity aims to provide alternative post-harvest handling of mushrooms, especially Oyster Mushrooms that are able to produce products that are acceptable to consumers; provide an alternative to consumers of products made from oyster mushrooms, and have a long shelf life and open up opportunities for the development of agribusiness-based home industries. The activity method is carried out by lecturing and discussing the characteristics of Oyster Mushrooms and their post-harvest handling; production of products as well as testing of product acceptance by the community; and the development of home industries with pricing and packaging and licensing of small industries. The targets of this community service activity are teachers and students / students at the Al-Azhar NW Kayangan Islamic High School, Sandik Village, Batu Layar District, West Lombok Regency. The results of this community service activity show that the teachers and students are very enthusiastic and feel the enormous benefits of this activity. It is hoped that this activity can be increased again by still paying attention to the needs of teachers and students for sustainable entrepreneurship so that it can help the school economy to innovate in creating various sources of school income. The activity was greeted with high enthusiasm, because almost all partner schools had no object to increase the economic productivity of their schools. The teachers really hope that the next activity can be continued with other food processing materials with a longer duration.
