Abstract

Adolescents need structured health education because they are in a developmental phase that is vulnerable to risky behaviors, including addiction and limited understanding of reproductive health. Schools have a strategic role as preventive educational spaces that are closely connected to students' daily lives. This community service activity aimed to optimize the role of schools in educating students about addiction prevention and reproductive health at MTs Al-Hamidiyah NW Sidemen. The activity used a school-based health education method with a participatory approach through seminars, interactive lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, presentation media, and reproductive health posters. Program success was evaluated through student participation observation, records of responses during question-and-answer sessions, activity documentation, and implementation indicators. The results showed that schools can serve as effective facilitators of adolescent health education. Students showed attention, engagement, and positive responses during the activity. Visual media helped clarify sensitive topics and made them easier to understand. This activity confirms that integrated education on addiction prevention and reproductive health should be continued through school guidance programs, counseling services, and collaboration with parents.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to empower students through bouquet-making training in order to enhance creative skills, independence, and entrepreneurial interest from an early age. The program was implemented with 35 ninth-grade junior high school students and involved 3 accompanying teachers. The methods employed included demonstration, hands-on practice, intensive mentoring, and product evaluation. The outputs of the activity consisted of student-made bouquet products and a simple bouquet-making guide intended for further learning activities at school. The results showed that 90% of students were able to create bouquets independently with good quality, while several students demonstrated improved creativity through design variations and material combinations. Questionnaire responses indicated that 100% of participants were highly satisfied with the activity, and 80% expressed interest in continuing bouquet-making at home as a potential small-scale business opportunity. These findings suggest that creative, product-based skill training not only improves students’ technical competence and creativity but also effectively fosters entrepreneurial interest at an early stage.

Abstract

Enhancing students' cultural literacy is crucial amidst the currents of globalization that are causing shifts in local cultural values. Conventional teaching methods are considered inadequate for meaningfully integrating local culture into the learning process. Therefore, instructional innovation is needed to combine local wisdom with a deep learning approach specifically, through "ethno-deep learning." This study aims to determine the impact of ethno-deep learning on students' cultural literacy. A quasi-experimental method with a post-test-only control group design was employed. The study population consisted of all Grade X students at SMA Islam Al Azhar NW Kayangan, North Lombok Regency, during the 2025/2026 academic year. A saturated sampling technique was used, meaning the entire population served as the sample; this comprised two classes: a treatment group of 20 students and a comparison group of 20 students. Data collection instruments included a cultural literacy questionnaire and an observation sheet to monitor the implementation of instruction. The data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test to determine whether there was a significant difference in cultural literacy between the treatment and comparison groups. The analysis revealed significant differences between the groups across all dimensions of cultural literacy: understanding cultural complexity, knowledge of one's own culture, and cultural concern. This was evidenced by a Mann-Whitney U test significance value of 0.000 (Sig ≤ 0.1), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1). The study concludes that ethno-deep learning significantly influences students' cultural literacy. This approach proved effective in enhancing students' understanding, awareness, and concern regarding culture through a learning process that is contextual, meaningful, and student-centered.

Abstract

Tegal Maja Village is one of the villages in North Lombok Regency whose main commodity is cashew nuts. Cashew fruit consists of a true fruit in the form of a spindle or seed, while the pseudo-flesh is often known as a fruit that contains a lot of water. Cashew nuts are an important commodity while the fruit is considered to have no economic value because of its astringent taste, so it is often used as animal feed or even thrown away. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of the people of Tegal Maja Village, North Lombok Regency in processing cashew fruit into shredded fruit, as well as supporting village programs in processing local potential into UMKM products. The implementation of activities carried out for 3 weeks includes initial observations, preparation of activity programs, discussions on determining activity schedules, and implementation of core activities. The core activities include the opening, socialization, practice of making floss, and product delivery. The success of this activity was measured by the increased knowledge and skills of participants in processing cashew fruit flesh into floss. The partner's response to this activity was very good, marked by the enthusiasm of the participants, namely 100% attendance, arriving on time until the activity ended. This community service activity ended with the delivery of products to the Head of Tegal Maja Village, North Lombok Regency.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with relatively high rates of early marriage compared to others, which indirectly correlates with various issues, including reproductive health. Reproductive health is a crucial aspect of building the quality of future generations. Through community service programs in the form of reproductive health education activities, it is hoped to contribute to enhancing understanding of reproductive health and the age of marriage among adolescents, particularly in the region of Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara. The methods used include the stages of: 1) planning; 2) implementation; and 3) reflection. The education activities involve adolescent boys and girls from Parampuan Village, West Lombok Regency. The results of the community service activities show that participants can understand the importance of reproductive health early on and actively participate in educational activities, as evidenced by attendance rates of over 70%. Participants also responded positively to the educational activities. Thus, community service in the form of reproductive health education can: 1) improve adolescents' understanding of reproductive health; 2) raise awareness among adolescents regarding the ideal age of marriage; and 3) ensure effective implementation of educational activities.

Abstract

The utilization of non-timber forest products (NTFPs) is still not optimal, despite having great potential in supporting environmental sustainability and the local economy. The need for innovation in forest product management is becoming increasingly urgent, especially in the context of green economic development and natural resource conservation. This activity aims to provide understanding to forestry students of Mandalika University of Education regarding the importance of sustainable forest product innovation, fostering environmental awareness, and instilling character values such as ecological responsibility. This activity involved 30 participants and was carried out in four training sessions that included interactive lectures, group discussions, and individual reflections. The evaluation results showed an increase in participants' conceptual understanding by 42% based on the results of the pre-test and post-test. In addition, participants produced more than 6 creative ideas based on local potential, such as the development of herbal products, environmentally friendly products and natural dyes. Character values such as innovation, ecological responsibility, and environmental awareness were also successfully internalized in the learning process. This socialization makes an important contribution in shaping sustainability awareness and professional readiness of forestry students. It is recommended that this program be continued in the form of applied training that includes the development of NTFP product prototypes and integrated into the green entrepreneurship curriculum.
