Abstract

This activity aims to increase students' insight into the importance of writing scientific papers, good scientific writing techniques, and how to use appropriate references. This event will be held online via the Zoom application on July 29 2023 with the theme "Increasing Ideas and Creativity in Compiling Scientific Work." The activity was attended by 44 participants from various scientific disciplines and institutions. The resource person provided insight into strategies for finding ideas, research gaps, and using the Mendeley application for reference management. Based on the questionnaire, more than 90% of participants expressed interest in taking further training on writing scientific papers. The result of this activity is an increase in participants' understanding of the scientific writing process as well as the establishment of collaboration between universities for future research.

Abstract

Scientific writing can be in the form of scientific articles, final reports, publication manuscripts, research reports such as theses, theses or dissertations. In writing scientific papers, modern reference management, such as Mendeley, Vos Viewer, and Connected Paper, has become a tool for scientific work writers to import, organize, search for references and research gaps quickly, it also makes it possible to organize and store all documents related to the project research in one place. Of the 35 participants who took part in the workshop, participants assessed that the material was delivered well by 3 resource persons, with evidence of an average rating for each resource of 4.5 on a scale of 1-5 (very bad to very good) and a standard deviation of 0.4 to 0.61. The distribution of results for the advanced themes that participants are interested in implementing in the future is optimization towards the industrial era 5.0 with an answer percentage of 54.29%; Publication of accredited scientific papers with a percentage of 25.71%; Industrial Sustainability was 11.43% and Industrial Innovation Technology was 8.57%.

Abstract

Elementary education plays an important role in shaping children's self-confidence and logical thinking skills, especially in the increasingly complex digital era. However, many children have difficulty in developing these aspects due to the lack of appropriate stimulation. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide socialization and assistance to 6th grade elementary school students in increasing their self-confidence and logical thinking skills. This activity is carried out through interactive methods, exploration-based, and persuasive approaches. This activity involves teachers, as well as educational facilitators in the form of training, educational games, and discussion sessions. The results of the community service show that this approach has a positive impact on children's cognitive and social development. Children who participate in this program experience increased courage in communicating and are better able to solve problems independently. This activity can be an effective model in supporting elementary education in the digital era.

Abstract

The nglowongi process is one part of the batik process, which is making patterns on mori. As technology develops, this process is replaced by machines that apply CNC technology, namely the CNC rotary bed. In its implementation, obstacles were found such as failure to form motifs that have perfect angles on the fabric. There are many possible factors that cause the failure, but the authors focus on the limiting factors on the speed and acceleration of the stepper motor movement and the design angle of the motif. The purpose of this research is to optimize the input setup (speed and acceleration) on GRBL during the process of making angular motifs on batik cloth. The method used is the Taguchi method and two way-ANOVA. The results of this study indicate that the optimal combination of motif design angle, speed and acceleration is 91°-180°, 833.33 mm/s or 500 mm/min respectively and the input acceleration is 4000 mm/s2

Abstract

The hydraulic press machine is one of the essential tools in the manufacturing industry, particularly in the automotive sector, to accelerate and simplify the process of forming and assembling metal components with high precision. However, operating the machine using buttons presents several challenges, such as unresponsiveness, operator fatigue, and the risk of workplace accidents. This study aims to improve the efficiency and safety of hydraulic press machine operations by replacing the button system with a pedal system. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach with literature review and experimental methods in the design process. The research stages include data collection through literature review, component Benchmarking to compile the Bill of Material (BOM), and machine design development using Assembly chart and Operation Process Chart (OPC). The results show that replacing buttons with pedals improves the machine's responsiveness and operator comfort. The ergonomic pedal design allows operators to control the machine more accurately and steadily, making the production process more efficient and consistent. Furthermore, the updated machine design with an enclosed structure enhances protection for internal components and extends the machine’s lifespan. In conclusion, the innovation of replacing the button system with a pedal system in hydraulic press machines successfully improves operator safety.

Abstract

This study aims to design an optimized 5-Axis Robotic Arm system for Quality Control (QC) applications utilizing infrared sensor technology. The research process involved a comprehensive literature review to explore the latest developments in robotic systems and automation technologies. Benchmarking similar products was conducted to identify strengths and weaknesses as a foundation for innovation. The preparation of the Bill of Material (BoM), Operation Process Chart (OPC), and Assembly Chart (AC) was essential for systematic production planning. The final design was developed using Inventor 2024 software to ensure precision and component compatibility. The results demonstrate that the selection of aluminum materials, servo motors with a lifting capacity of up to 10 kg, Arduino Uno R3, and Pixy Cam significantly enhanced the system’s flexibility, durability, and efficiency. Structural modifications improved the mechanical stability and operational lifespan of the robotic arm. This system is expected to serve as an effective solution to improve the accuracy and speed of Quality Control processes in modern industrial environments.

Abstract

This research aims to optimize the design of a 6-axis robotic Arm for spray painting processes in the automotive industry. The main problem identified is the complexity of the structure and the presence of non-functional components, which complicate the manufacturing process. Through benchmarking methods, analysis of the Bill of Materials (BoM), creation of an Operation Process Chart (OPC), and Assembly Chart (AC), the design was simplified without reducing its core functionality. Design development was carried out using Autodesk Inventor software to create a more efficient 3D model. An evaluation was conducted on the new design, including a Cost of Goods Manufactured (HPP) analysis to ensure cost efficiency. The research results show that eliminating non-functional parts improves production speed, reduces costs, and maintains the robotic Arm's balance and safety. Thus, the developed robotic Arm is simpler, more effective, and more economical to support increased industrial productivity.

Abstract

The industrial revolution 4.0 has encouraged the development of automation systems, including the 6 DOF robotic arm to enhance industrial production efficiency and effectiveness. This study aims to redesign a 6 DOF robotic arm based on benchmarking with Fanuc M-20iA and ABB IRB 2600 models using AutoDesk Inventor 2024. The method employed is benchmarking by comparing designs and specifications, followed by redesigning the Bill of Materials (BoM), Operation Process Chart (OPC), and assembly chart. The results show modifications such as redesigning the base into a square shape, adding rubber strips to the gripper, creating a separate panel for the motor driver and controller, and replacing the electromagnetic gripper with a mechanical one. The final design produces a simpler robotic arm with a production cost (HPP) of Rp105,554,924.00, which is more economical compared to similar products. The newly designed gripper is recommended for vertical object handling and positioning. Thus, the design successfully reduces maintenance costs, enhances precision, and maintains optimal performance for industrial applications.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan pesat konsumsi LPG 3 kg di Indonesia menimbulkan tantangan besar pada keandalan sistem distribusi akibat kendala jendela waktu yang ketat, heterogenitas armada, dan kebutuhan multi-trip. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan pipeline optimasi terintegrasi untuk menyelesaikan Green Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows (G-VRPTW) di bawah permintaan dinamis. Metodologi yang digunakan berbasis kerangka kerja empat tahap yaitu, peramalan permintaan menggunakan Gradient Boosting Machine (GBM) dengan data hasil augmentasi empiris, Sweep Clustering untuk partisi spasial, Nearest Neighbor untuk pembentukan rute awal, dan Memetic Algorithm (MA) untuk penyempurnaan rute multi-trip. Uji Kolmogorov-Smirnov memvalidasi bahwa data augmentasi secara statistik representatif terhadap distribusi referensi ( ). Model GBM menghasilkan akurasi prediksi tinggi dengan rata-rata MAPE sebesar 8,53%. Lebih lanjut, metode HGB-SNN-MA yang diusulkan berhasil menjamin capaian service rate mutlak 100% pada periode 12 bulan. Dibandingkan dengan kondisi awal manual, pendekatan ini mampu mereduksi total jarak tempuh sebesar 21,9% (924,46 km), meminimalkan emisi karbon hingga 21,9% (352,73kg CO2), dan menekan biaya operasional sebesar 29,6% (Rp8.258.988). Hasil ini menegaskan bahwa optimasi evolusioner berbasis data menyajikan solusi tangguh bagi logistik energi yang berkelanjutan dan efisien.

Abstract

World Cleanup Day gives positive impact to environmental care activities in Indonesia. Environmental Services of Batam participated into World Cleanup Day action by sorting waste from public residence in 2021. In the year of 2024, Batam still involved in World Cleanup Day action. One of the location was Tanjung Bemban, Nongsa. The purpose of this social service is to partipate in world clean up day by cleaning up the waste in Tanjung Bemban beach. The method is application of participatory approach. There are two steps in this action. The first step is introduction and preparation that conducted by committee of World Cleanup Day. Whereas, the second step is clean up the waste in the specified locations. The waste classified into four categories. Participants collected and weighted the waste to the committee. Beach Cleanup Day 2024 in Tanjung Bemban can collected waste around 235.3 kilograms, consist of 97.3 kilograms organic waste, 88.4 kilograms plastic waste and 49.6 kilograms other type of waste. This action also involved many participants from various parties, such as government, military, NGOs, universities and schools. Beach clean up action expected to increase practice in waste management.
