Abstract

[The Relationship Between Duration of Gadget Use and Social Development in Preschool Children at Tunas Mekar Sari Kindergarten, Denpasar] The term "children's social development" describes how children change their behaviors as they grow to conform to the norms of their society. The social development of preschool children becomes complicated due to the effects of gadget use. In general, technology has the potential to enhance children's communication, social circles, and educational opportunities. However, children's social development may be negatively impacted by excessive gadget use. The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between the duration of gadget use and the social development of preschool children. This research employs an analytical correlation with a cross-sectional approach, involving 82 parent respondents selected through consecutive sampling. Information was gathered by asking parents to complete a survey about their children's social development and the duration of their gadget use. The relationship between the length of gadget use and the social development of the children was analyzed using the chi-square test (p < 0.05). The majority of children were 6 years old (57.3%), and most parents held a bachelor's degree (33.8%) and worked in the private sector (53.7%). Most children's social development was categorized as poor (65.9%), and they used gadgets for a long time (64.6%). The results of this study also indicate a statistically significant relationship between the length of gadget use and the social development of preschool children at Tunas Mekar Sari Kindergarten in Denpasar (p < 0.001). The longer the children used gadgets, the poorer their social development.

Abstract

The maternal mortality rate in Indonesia is one of the highest in the world. According to WHO, in 2017, 830 mothers in the world died due to complications that occurred during pregnancy and childbirth. One of the main factors causing maternal death according to WHO are prolonged labor. This research determine the differences in anxiety levels of mothers in the first stage of latent phase labor at the Mangusada Hospital after administering classical music distraction. Through this research, we can also determine the level of anxiety among mothers giving birth at the Mangusada Hospital using the PRAQ-R2 instrument which is valid and reliable. This research design uses quantitative research methods with an experimental and one group pretest posttest design. The sample in this study was all women giving birth in the first stage of the latent phase at the Mangusada Hospital from July to September with a total of 40 people. Univariate analysis showed that the majority of mothers were 25 years old, primiparous, with a gestational age of 38 weeks. Then the difference anxiety level measured using a non-parametric test, namely Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test. Wilcoxon showed a significant reduction in anxiety levels in mothers in the first stage of labor after being given treatment. This is proven by the value p < 0.001. Based on the results of the analysis, there were differences in the anxiety levels of mothers in the first stage of latent phase labor at the Mangusada Hospital after giving classical music distraction techniques.

Abstract

Perkembangan bahasa anak merupakan aspek penting dalam tumbuh kembang yang dapat dipengaruhi oleh pola asuh dan paparan teknologi. Penggunaan gawai pada usia dini cenderung meningkat dan diduga berperan terhadap terjadinya speech delay. Namun, bukti ilmiah yang membahas hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan gawai dan keterlambatan bicara masih terbatas. Penelitian ini merupakan studi observasional analitik dengan desain case–control yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan intensitas penggunaan gawai dengan kejadian speech delay pada anak usia 2–5 tahun di RSUD Sanjiwani Gianyar. Sampel terdiri dari 98 responden (49 anak speech delay dan 49 anak tanpa speech delay) yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data primer diperoleh melalui kuesioner mengenai karakteristik anak dan kebiasaan penggunaan gawai, sedangkan data sekunder berasal dari rekam medis. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji Chi-square dengan nilai signifikansi p < 0,05 serta perhitungan odds ratio (OR) dan interval kepercayaan 95%. Sebanyak 50% responden mengalami speech delay. Berdasarkan intensitas penggunaan gawai, 12,2% memiliki intensitas ringan, 49% sedang, dan 38,8% berat. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa intensitas penggunaan gawai berat berhubungan signifikan dengan peningkatan risiko speech delay (OR = 4,24; 95% CI: 1,77–10,18; p = 0,01). Terdapat hubungan bermakna antara intensitas penggunaan gawai dan kejadian speech delay pada anak usia 2–5 tahun. Penggunaan gawai dengan durasi dan frekuensi tinggi meningkatkan risiko keterlambatan bicara, sehingga pengawasan dan pembatasan waktu penggunaan gawai oleh orang tua sangat dianjurkan.
