Abstract

Solving a problem in geometric transformation that is prioritized is the ability to think visually, this is because visualization is the heart of mathematics to solve a problem, besides that visualization can also make it easier to understand abstract mathematics, and can be used as a strategy for solving mathematical problems to be very simple. This study aims to describe the visual thinking ability of mathematics education students on the material of geometric transformation. The type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this study were 5 students. Written tests related to geometric transformation questions, such as questions, reflections, translations, and dilations were used as data sources in this research. By describing each instrument that has been done by students in accordance with the indicators of visual thinking ability, data analysis techniques are used. The results of this study indicate that students' thinking skills only reach the stage of sorting, searching, and finding. It means only to the acquisition and reasoning. This can be seen from the responses of several students, namely students (1) four stages and three principles of visual thinking ability are achieved. Students can sort out the questions given and look for information to get answers, and can describe and visualize the answers that have been obtained. Student response (2) only did not reach the step of describing and the principle of individuation. This means that students cannot explain and describe answers in the form of pictures or graphs correctly. Student responses (3) only reached the stage of sorting and obtaining or in other words only understanding what was asked. Students in response (4) only did not reach the step of describing and the principle of visualizing/illustrating. So that it can be used as a reference related to visual research, especially on geometry material.

Abstract

The community service activity entitled “Maple Application Training for Mathematics Education Study Program” at St. Augustine Hippo Catholic University aims to improve students' abilities in mathematics education study programs using existing applications as sources of learning mathematics. The problems found at the Catholic University of St. Augustine Hippo in the mathematics education study program where students still do not know the application, students still use the manual way of counting, students are still not accustomed to using existing learning applications, and rarely use applications in learning. Community service activities that use a participatory approach and through this training method, the result that students at St. Augustine Hippo Catholic University realized that increasing competence is essential for the world of education, both in increasing knowledge and skills, through various applications of learning mathematics, in this case, the application of maple. Educators here can improve their competence to play a direct role in online and offline learning to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Learning mathematics which is still abstract makes it difficult for students to understand the material of a two-variable linear equation system. It is necessary to arrange modules with realistic content to make it easier for students to understand the material. The research aims to develop a Mathematics learning module based on the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach to the Material of a Two-Variable Linear Equation System. The research method developed is the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The instruments used in this study were validation sheets, observations, and learning outcomes tests. Validation sheet to obtain data about the results of the validation of experts regarding the module, observation sheet to see the implementation of the module. Test results to determine the average percentage of student test scores. Data analysis was carried out to obtain a suitable and qualified mathematics learning module that met the valid, practical, and effective criteria. The criteria for the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the module that are considered sufficient to continue at the next stage are at least . Based on the results of the limited trial, the results obtained were very good, students felt happy and excited during the delivery process. To the illustrations in the module that were distributed to students, their response was enthusiastic and enthusiastic in working on the practice questions during the learning process. It can be seen from the results of the evaluation carried out by the students that it produced a positive response, so that the percentage of the students' positive response was the lowest at 80.49. This means that the development of this module is very useful and beneficial for students.

Abstract

Berpikir kritis adalah sebuah aktivitas mental manusia dalam mengumpulkan, mengklasifikasi, menganalisis, dan mengevaluasi informasi untuk menarik kesimpulan guna memecahkan suatu masalah. Kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam penelitian ini diukur berdasarkan indikator Interpretasi, Analisis, Evaluasi, dan Inferensi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi integral tak tentu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa kelas XI AKL SMK Maniamas Ngabang. Terdapat dua sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu soal tes tertulis dan hasil wawancara (sebagai sumber data primer) dan dokumentasi (sebagai sumber data sekunder). Hasil Penelitian menunjukan bahwa 56,67% subjek tergolong dalam siswa yang kemampuan berpikir kritisnya tinggi, 23,33% subjek tergolong dalam siswa yang kemampuan berpikir kritisnya sedang, 20% subjek tergolong dalam siswa yang kemampuan berpikir kritisnya rendah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat kemampuan pemahaman konsep konsep pecahan siswa setelah menggunakan media puzzle, hal ini dilakukan karena berdasarkan kenyataan dilapangan ditemukan bahwa siswa kesulitan dalam pengoperasian penjumlahan dan pengurangan pada konsep pecahan. Siswa hanya bisa membedakan penyebut dan pembilang pada pecahan, tetapi ketika diminta untuk mengoperasikannya kedalam penjumlahan dan pengurangan siswa tidak paham, apalagi untuk pengoperasian perkalian dan pembagian pada pecahan. Sehingga dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan berdasarkan hasil penelitian setelah menggunakan media puzzel pecahan ditemukan bahwa siswa-siswa akhirnya bisa menyamakan Antara penyebut dan pembilang pada pecahan, siswa juga bisa menyelesaikan operasi penjumlahan pada pecahan.

Abstract

Adong 1 is one of the remote villages in West Kalimantan. Children's interest in reading in Adong 1 is still relatively low due to the lack of facilities for reading. Apart from that, people's mindset towards reading is also one of the factors causing children's low reading interest. People still think that reading is not important. Parents usually focus more on their children working in the fields. Therefore, this service focuses on building reading houses and providing reading books so that children interest in reading will improve. Activities are carried out in several ways, namely 1) preparation; 2) building reading houses;3)providing books;4) and forming the commitee. The results of the activity show that building a reading house and providing reading books can increase children's interest from an early age in Adong 1.

Abstract

Studi literatur ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tren penelitian dengan menggunakan analisis bibliometrik yang terkait dengan Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) dalam pengajaran matematika. Pentingnya AI dalam pengajaran matematika tidak sesuai dengan banyaknya penelitian tentang hal tersebut. Sehingga penelitian ini disusun dengan tujuan untuk mengidentifikasi penelitian berkaitan dengan integrasi AI dalam pengajaran matematika selama 10 tahun terakhir.  Kata kunci yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan artikel adalah “artificial intelligence” dan “mathematics teaching” dan diperoleh 460 dokumen di database scopus. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan membatasi jumlah dokumen tergantung pada tahun, bahasa, dan jenis artikel. Batas tahun pada tahun 2014 hingga 2024, bahasa dibatasi hanya bahasa Inggris, dan dokumen dibatasi hanya pada jenis artikel. Jumlah dokumen dalam dekade terakhir meningkat dari 6 dokumen menjadi 26 dokumen. Zhongda Sun, yang berkecimpung dalam kecerdasan komputer, adalah penulis yang paling banyak dikutip. Negara paling produktif adalah Tiongkok yang menyalip jumlah publikasi Australia pada tahun 2021. Kecerdasan buatan dalam pengajaran matematika populer dalam ilmu sosial dan ilmu komputer dengan topik yang paling populer adalah siswa, kecerdasan buatan, dan guru. This literature study aims to analyze research trends by using bibliometrics analysis that related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in mathematics teaching. The impact of AI in mathematics teaching did not match to the number of mathematics teaching research. So, this bibliometric study conducted in order to identify AI integration in mathematics teaching in last decade. Article gathered by two keywords, which are “artificial intelligence” and “mathematics teaching”and found 460 documents in scopus database. This study conducted by limiting the number of documents depend on years, language, and article type. The years limit in 2014 to 2024, languages limit to english only, and the documents limit to article type only. The number of documents in the last decade is increasing from 6 documents into 26 documents. Zhongda Sun, that concern in computer intelligence, is the most cited author. The most productive country was China that overtake Australia’s number of publications in 2021. Artificial intelligence in mathematics teaching was popular in social science and computer science and the most popular topics are students, artificial intelligence, and teacher.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memberikan penguatan kemampuan refresentasi visual dalam pembelajaran analogi matematika pada materi peluang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif yaitu penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan refresentasi visual dalam pembelajaran analogi matematika . Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah studi kasus. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kasus karena fokus penelitian ini menjawab bagaimana penguatan refresentasi visual dalam pembelajaran analogi matematik . Pengembangan dikonstruksi melalui tinjauan teoritik, sintesa dari penelitian terdahulu, dan contoh-contoh penguatan kemampuan refresentasi visual. sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 25 peserta didik kelas XII di SMA Maniamas Ngabang tahun pelajaran 2023/2024 untuk memperoleh data hasil penelitian dan hasil wawancara. Alur instrumen data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui soal essay sebanyak 5 soal untuk mengukur kemampuan refresentasi visual dalam pembelajaran analogi matematika dan wawancara langsung dengan 6 peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan refresentasi visual peserta didik mengalami peningkatan dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 77,96 dan analogi matematika peserta didik juga sudah memenuhi 4 kriteria yang ditetapkan dimana terlihat dari kemampuan dalam menemukan kesamaan terkait pengetahuan yang ada dengan target soal yang diberikan. Kemudian dari hasil wawancara langsung peserta didik mengalami peningkatan kemampuan dalam memodelkan secara matematika, mengkomunikasikan ke peserta didik lainnya, dan sudah dapat menentukan kesamaan terkait soal yang diberikan.

Abstract

Abstrak Kemampuan visualisasi merupakan aspek krusial dalam memahami materi dimensi tiga. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menggambarkan kemampuan visualisasi siswa sekolah menengah atas dalam pembelajaran materi dimensi tiga berdasarkan gaya belajar. Subjek penelitian kualitatif ini dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes essay berdasarkan indikator ketrampilan visualisasi. Teknik analisis data meliputi pengumpulan data, kategorisasi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan visualisasi siswa berbeda berdasarkan gaya belajar. Siswa dengan gaya belajar visual menunjukkan kemampuan visualisasi yang sangat baik yaitu menyelesaian masalah, pencarian pola, pengonsepan, pengimajinasian, dan memvisualkan. Siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori menyelesaikan masalah, pencarian pola, dan memvisualkan, namun belum optimal dalam pengimajinasian dan pengonsepan. Siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik menyelesaian masalah dan pencarian pola, sedangkan mengimajinasikan hanya tercapai sebagian, dan pengonsepan serta memvisualkan belum terpenuhi secara memadai. Temuan ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan erat antara gaya belajar dan pencapaian kemampuan visualisasi dalam memahami materi dimensi tiga. Abstract Visualization ability is a crucial aspect in understanding three-dimensional material. The purpose of this study is to describe the visualization ability of high school students in learning three-dimensional material based on learning styles. The subjects of this qualitative study were selected using the purposive sampling method. The data collection technique used an essay test based on visualization skill indicators. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data categorization, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that students' visualization abilities differed based on learning styles. Students with a visual learning style showed very good visualization abilities, namely solving problems, finding patterns, conceptualizing, imagining, and visualizing. Students with an auditory learning style solved problems, finding patterns, and visualizing, but were not optimal in imagining and conceptualizing. Students with a kinesthetic learning style solved problems and searching for patterns, while imagining was only partially achieved, and conceptualizing and visualizing had not been adequately fulfilled. These findings indicate a close relationship between learning styles and the achievement of visualization abilities in understanding three-dimensional material.

Abstract

Interviews with mathematics teachers and a number of 11th grade students at SMA Pelita Ngabang showed that low student independence in learning had a direct effect on their mathematics learning outcomes. It was not uncommon for some 11th grade students to experience difficulties in solving composition function problems. This was due to a lack of independent learning strategies, a lack of student motivation to learn, and a lack of discipline in managing study time. In addition, students' dependence on explanations provided by teachers also contributes to suboptimal learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the influence of independent learning on the mathematics learning outcomes of 11th grade students on the topic of composite functions at SMA Pelita Ngabang. The research approach applied uses a quantitative method with a correlational research design. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling, while data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires and exam questions. Data processing techniques in this study included validity testing, reliability testing, descriptive statistical analysis, normality testing, linearity testing, homogeneity testing, and simple linear regression testing. The results of statistical analysis using SPSS version 25 software show that the hypothesis test with the F test produced a significance value of 0.003, which is less than 0.05. In addition, the R Square coefficient of determination showed a value of 0.331, indicating that independent learning has a significant effect on mathematics learning outcomes of 33.1%, which is classified as moderate.
