Abstract

Anxiety during pregnancy can be triggered by limited knowledge, which gives rise to fear of childbirth, feelings of anxiety, sadness, stress, and even depression, thus increasing the psychological burden on pregnant women. Counseling should be an important part of antenatal care. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of counseling regarding the childbirth process on the level of anxiety before childbirth in the third trimester of pregnant women in the Bendo Community Health Center, Kediri Regency. This study used a pre-experimental design with a population of all third trimester pregnant women in the Bendo Community Health Center, Kediri Regency (n=37). A sample of 16 respondents was selected using a purposive sampling method. HARS and ZSAS-based questionnaires were used to collect data, and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test was used for analysis. The results showed that before the counseling, most respondents (81.25%) were at a moderate level of anxiety, while after the counseling, the majority of respondents (81.25%) experienced mild anxiety. The Wilcoxon test showed a p-value <α (0.001 <0.05). The analysis shows that counseling on the childbirth process has an impact on the level of anxiety before delivery among pregnant women in their third trimester in the Bendo Community Health Center, Kediri Regency. It is hoped that research sites will use these results as an overview and input for improving midwifery services.

Abstract

Background: Patient safety incidents remain common in hospitals and directly affect the quality of healthcare services. Incident reporting is a key strategy for improving service quality and promoting a safety culture. An effective reporting culture requires the reduction of barriers and the strengthening of enabling factors so that healthcare workers feel safe to report incidents. Purpose: This systematic review aimed to identify barriers and supportive factors affecting the establishment of a patient safety incident reporting culture among healthcare personnel within hospital environments. Methods: A systematic review was undertaken through a comprehensive search of four databases, including ScienceDirect, ProQuest, PubMed, and. Google Scholar. The search terms were: ("patient safety" OR "adverse event") AND ("incident reporting" OR "error reporting") AND ("barriers" OR "enablers") AND ("healthcare workers") AND ("hospital" OR "healthcare"). Inclusion criteria were articles published from 2021 to 2026 and written in English, available as free full text and were selected tobe analyzed and assessed using JBI. A total of 619 records were initially identified. Following the removal of duplicates, screening of titles and abstracts, and full-text assessment according to the eligibility criteria, 15 studies were ultimately included in the review. The selection process followed PRISMA guidelines. Results: Common barriers to concerns about blame or punitive consequences, insufficient feedback, and complex reporting mechanisms. Enabling factors included leadership support, implementation of a non-punitive (just) culture, simple and anonymous reporting systems, regular training, and transparent feedback mechanisms. Conclusion: Patient safety incident reporting culture is influenced by individual, organizational, and system-related factors. Sustainable improvement requires strong leadership, non-punitive policies, simplified reporting processes, continuous training, and structured feedback systems.

Abstract

Background: The low coverage of VIA screening indicates that awareness among women of reproductive age regarding the importance of early detection of cervical cancer still needs to be improved. This condition highlights the need for more effective and acceptable health promotion strategies, particularly through the use of educational media that are appropriate to the characteristics of the target population. Objective: This community service activity aimed to improve VIA screening behavior among women of reproductive age through health promotion using leaflet and audiovisual media, as well as to compare the outcomes of both media. Methods: The activity was conducted in the form of health promotion for women of reproductive age who were divided into two groups, namely a leaflet group and an audiovisual group. A total of 100 women of reproductive age who met the target criteria participated in this activity. Behavioral evaluation was carried out through observation of participants’ participation in undergoing VIA screening at health service facilities. An evaluative analysis was performed to assess differences in the outcomes of health promotion between the two groups. Results: The evaluation results showed that in the group receiving health promotion using leaflet media, 28% of participants underwent VIA screening, while 72% did not. In contrast, in the group receiving health promotion using audiovisual media, 64% of participants underwent VIA screening and 36% did not. Comparative analysis indicated a meaningful difference between the use of leaflet and audiovisual media in encouraging VIA screening behavior. Conclusion: Health promotion using audiovisual and leaflet media demonstrated differences in effectiveness in encouraging VIA screening behavior among women of reproductive age. Audiovisual media provided a more interactive learning experience, while leaflets helped strengthen understanding through repeated reading

Abstract

Aims: This study aims to qualitatively explore the positive experiences of caregivers for people with dementia (PwD. Methods: A descriptive phenomenological design was employed with purposive sampling. This study was conducted in Indonesia by the Alzheimer’s Indonesia organization. Participants were selected using purposive sampling methods. The study involved 11 caregivers, including paid caregivers and family members, including children, grandchildren, spouses, siblings, and other close relatives, who had provided care for at least one year. Data were collected through in-depth interviews conducted face-to-face or via Zoom in 2022. Colaizzi’s method guided the data analysis to extract significant statements, formulate their meanings, and identify emerging themes. Rigor was ensured through data triangulation, peer checking, and participant validation. Results: The study identified four main themes reflecting the positive experiences of caregivers of persons with dementia: (1) Personal Growth and Development, including increased patience, empathy, and caregiving competence; (2) improved relationships and connections, characterized by stronger emotional bonds and supportive family dynamics; (3) Search for Meaning and Role Satisfaction, where caregiving was seen as a purposeful, spiritually meaningful role; and (4) Positive Psychological Outcomes, such as reduced stress, greater emotional resilience, and enhanced well-being. Conclusion: Despite the challenges, caregiving for individuals with dementia can lead to personal growth, stronger relationships, a sense of meaning, and emotional resilience. These positive experiences highlight the importance of supporting caregivers and recognizing their strengths.

Abstract

Background: HIV/AIDS has garnered public attention due to the challenges in its effective control, with its prevalence continuing to rise until 2019. Despite its global impact, public awareness of this disease remains limited. The perspective of the community on People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in the Aceh region offers unique insights, indicating existing issues in the community environment. However, a comprehensive understanding of these issues is still lacking. This study aims to explore the challenges related to the Acehnese people's perspective towards PLWHA.Method: A qualitative ethnographic design was employed, focusing on the subjective approach to understanding the perspectives of the Acehnese Community. In-depth interviews were conducted with 8 participants. The researcher served as a human instrument, directly involved in collecting and interpreting the data. Data were analyzed descriptively using iterative coding and thematic categorization.Result: The study identified three themes related to the perspective of the community on People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA): (1) Community Knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS and PLWHA, (2) Experiences of the Acehnese Community with HIV/AIDS and PLWHA and (3) Community Values towards HIV/AIDS and PLWHA. Individuals with knowledge about HIV/AIDS can provide proper care for PLWHA patients, fostering an understanding of transmission dynamics. Society exhibits positive attitudes towards PLWHA when exposed to sufficient information. Conversely, negative perceptions arise when society attributes the disease to certain behaviors or considers it as a curse, leading to non-acceptance and ostracism. The perspectives imposed on PLWHA significantly influence their perception of the surrounding community. Community knowledge is crucial in shaping these perspectives, particularly from individuals with experience caring for PLWHA. Society holds both positive and negative values concerning HIV/AIDS and PLWHA.
