Abstract

This research is a survey study that aims to understand the overview of students' critical thinking skills, achievement motivation, and physics learning outcomes, and then to analyze the direct and indirect effects of several variables. Sampling is done using a multiple-stage random sampling technique, assuming that all classes are relatively homogeneous, resulting in a sample size of 80 students from SMA Negeri 2 Gowa. The data is obtained through critical thinking skill test instruments, achievement motivation questionnaires, and physics learning outcome tests. The collected data will be processed using two types of analysis techniques, namely descriptive analysis, and inferential analysis, using path analysis. The descriptive analysis concludes that students' critical thinking skills, achievement motivation, and physics learning outcomes are all in the high category. Additionally, the inferential analysis concludes that: critical thinking skills have a direct and significant positive effect on physics learning outcomes of students, critical thinking skills have a direct and significant positive effect on achievement motivation of students, achievement motivation has a direct and significant positive effect on physics learning outcomes of students, and critical thinking skills have an indirect and significant positive effect on physics learning outcomes through achievement motivation of students

Abstract

Abstract

Learners who lack adequate metacognitive awareness and meaningful have the potential to work mechanically. The aims of this study is to uncover the characteristics and description of metacognitive awareness and meaningful of prospective mathematics teachers after learning absolute value inequalities and the involvement of intuitive and analytical thinking. This study uses a qualitative approach with an exploratory type. A total of 5 prospective mathematics teachers who were taking differential calculus courses were selected as subjects from 87 candidate subjects from two different universities in Indonesia. Data collection was carried out by administering tests and conducting semi-structured interviews. Data analysis in this study went through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of data analysis show that: 1) unaware and not meaningful, 2) aware but not meaningful, 3) unaware but meaningful, 4) aware and meaningful. In addition, a pattern of intuitive and analytical thinking was also found, whereby prospective mathematics teachers who were not conscious activated analytical thinking, while those who were conscious activated intuitive thinking.  These findings imply the importance of emphasizing mindful and meaningful during the learning process so that students can understand concepts holistically and deeply, enabling them to solve problems accurately.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to strengthen the implementation of ethnomathematics in mathematics instruction through the Subject Teacher Consultation Forum (MGMP) in Maros Regency. The primary challenges faced by the partner group included limited teacher understanding of ethnomathematics concepts and constraints in developing culturally based instructional materials. The program was conducted through workshops and mentoring activities involving mathematics teachers as participants. The implementation stages included observation, planning, execution, and evaluation. The findings indicate a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding and competencies, as evidenced by questionnaire results categorized as “very good” and increased pretest-posttest scores. Furthermore, teachers successfully produced ethnomathematics-based instructional products, such as student worksheets, mathematical literacy problems, and teaching modules contextualized to local culture. The program also enhanced teachers’ practical skills in designing innovative and meaningful learning experiences. Therefore, workshops conducted through the MGMP forum proved effective in improving teacher competencies and supporting the collaborative and sustainable implementation of ethnomathematics-based instruction

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to ascertain whether or not students' vocabulary is considerably enhanced by the Team Game Tournament (TGT) technique. The pre-experimental design with a single group pre-test and post-test was used by the researcher. Fifteen eleventh-grade students from SMK Putra Bangsa Bulukumba participated in this study. They were selected using cluster sampling techniques. A vocabulary exam served as the research tool. Using the significance test method, the pre-test and post-test results utilizing the Team Game Tournament (TGT) strategy to enhance students' vocabulary revealed that the t-test value was less than P (0.000 < 0.05). Consequently, the accepted one was the alternative hypothesis (H1), and the rejected one was the null hypothesis (H0). After analyzing the N-Gain value, the result indicated that using the TGT strategy was classified as good. In conclusion, using the TGT strategy effectively enhances students' vocabulary, particularly in understanding meaning, spelling, pronunciation, word classes, and word use. Keywords: Team Game Tournament Strategy, Vocabulary Learning.
