Abstract

Legal counseling and socialization activities for APIPSU Medan High School students are gratification from a legal perspective. This exercise aims to educate pupils about the law and inspire them to take part in forming moral character and abstaining from immoral behaviour. To achieve this goal, in addition, it called on the Indonesian government to take firmer measures to reduce the level of corruption. To accomplish this task, the resulting material on corruption crimes is presented. Next, students talk and ask questions to the speaker. In general, the purpose of this extension is to identify two things intended to determine the level of understanding and sensitivity of students to law enforcement in handling gratuities that occur in their surrounding environment and point out other options that researchers use to increase students' awareness and understanding of law enforcement in handling gratuities around them. This activity goes well, anti-corruption learning can help students develop good and honest character. Although the country's economy is not directly affected by anti-corruption education, a sustainable one can lower the level of corruption in the Indonesian government and society.

Abstract

In 2015 to 2016 when the Rohingya were stranded in Kuala Langsa Harbor, Aceh. The research was conducted when the Rohingya survivors had been living in Aceh for six months. For most people, entering puberty is not easy. Adolescence is a stormy and stressful time because it is a time of emotional turmoil and imbalance. For Rohingya adolescents who experienced this runaway tragedy, of course, the adolescent phase they went through adds color, uniqueness, difficulties, and pressures that are different from ordinary adolescents who did not go through a tragedy in their lives. These conditions make Rohingya adolescents have to survive and find their ways to get through this tragedy. This research aims to discover the sources of resilience owned by adolescent girls who are Rohingya survivors. It is known from previous research that adolescent girls are not as resilient as adolescent boys and tend to be more sensitive and stressed when facing complex and stressful situations. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The subject was taken by purposive sampling and amounted to only one person who was 16 years old. Resilient sources obtained by Rohingya adolescent survivors stranded in Aceh are obtained from internal sources, namely, I Am and I Can. External sources, namely, I have external support and sources in increasing resilience that are received from social support and trades.

Abstract

Ayah memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam pengasuhan. Sejumlah hasil penelitian menunjukkan peran Ayah dalam pengasuhan berpengaruh terhadap aspek sosial, emosi, kecerdasan, dan perilaku anak. Namun penelitian keterlibatan Ayah dalam pengasuhan terhadap internal locus of control masih sangat minim. Internal locus of control diketahui berpengaruh terhadap perilaku kenakalan remaja. Remaja sebagai individu memiliki pusat kendalinya sendiri (internal locus of control) terhadap peristiwa dan hal-hal yang dialami serta terjadi di dalam individu tersebut. Remaja yang memiliki internal locus of control biasanya terhindar dari perilaku kenakalan remaja. Salah satu suku di Indonesia dimana pengasuhan ibu lebih dominan adalah suku Batak Toba. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh keterlibatan Ayah dalam pengasuhan terhadap internal locus of control pada remaja suku Batak Toba. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik availability sampling dan total subjek yang terlibat sebanyak 161 remaja suku Batak Toba berusia 15 – 18 tahun.  Hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan Ayah dalam pengasuhan memiliki pengaruh terhadap internal locus of control remaja suku Batak Toba, sebesar 24%. Hasil tersebut menunjukan bahwa keterlibatan Ayah dalam pengasuhan sangat diperlukan karena berpengaruh dalam mencegah perilaku kenakalan di usia remaja.

Abstract

Sejak dulu hingga sekarang, tidak sedikit orang tua yang merasa kebingungan dan kesulitan dalam membentuk perilaku positif pada anak. Orang tua juga sering merasa tidak mampu untuk memahami perilaku anak-anaknya yang selalu menguji kesabaran, sehingga tidak jarang orang tua menjadi marah dan menerapkan hukuman pada anak. Hal tersebut berdampak pada terbentuknya persepsi anak yang menjadi negatif terhadap figur kedua orang tua. Anak akan merasa bahwa ia tidak dipahami sehingga membuatnya berperilaku negatif seperti suka berbohong, tidak mengerjakan tanggung jawabnya di rumah, dan lain-lain. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan perilaku positif anak adalah dengan orang tua menerapkan komunikasi efektif terhadap anak dalam berinteraksi. Dengan dilakukannya Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini diharapakan dapat memberikan pemahaman, pengetahuan dan keterampilan baru bagi orang tua dalam menerapkan komunikasi efektif dengan anak. Oleh karenanya dapat terjalin hubungan yang hangat antara orang tua dengan anak, sehingga diikuti dengan perilaku positif pada anak yang akan meningkat pula. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan yaitu psikoedukasi dengan memberikan pemahaman dan pengetahuan terkait komunikasi efektif sehingga menjadi keterampilan baru yang akan dipelajari orang tua dalam menerapkan komunikasi saat berinteraksi dengan anak. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa para orang tua memperoleh pemahaman, pengetahuan dan keterampilan baru terkait menerapkan komunikasi efektif saat berinteraksi dengan anak. Selain itu, orang tua menyadari bahwa komunikasi yang diterapkan selama ini dengan anak tidak tepat, sehingga menyebabkan sering terjadi konflik dan berdampak pada perilaku negatif anak.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the stimulation of children's abilities towards the concept of numbers through number pocket media at Zulhijjah Kindergarten Medan and the development of children's abilities towards the concept of numbers at Zulhijjah Kindergarten Medan. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique in this study was carried out by collecting data, summarizing data, presenting data and concluding. The results of the study indicate that Based on the results of research that has been conducted at Zulhijjah Kindergarten Medan regarding the stimulation of children's abilities towards the concept of numbers through number pocket media, it can be concluded that: 1) Stimulation of children's abilities in the concept of numbers is carried out with a well-structured learning plan design through learning planning and teaching modules that are adjusted to the theme and learning steps through interesting activities, namely playing while learning. 2) The development of children's abilities regarding the concept of numbers 1-30 through number pockets has developed as expected, such as children can name numbers 1-30, children can order numbers 1-30, children can pair numbers 1-30, children can connect numbers 1-30, children can write numbers 1-30.

Abstract

“There is no health without mental health”. Ungkapan tersebut kini telah disepakati oleh banyak pakar dan praktisi di bidang Kesehatan Mental, bahwa Kesehatan Mental sama pentingnya dengan Kesehatan Fisik. Berbagai data dan penelitian mengungkapkan angka permasalahan dan gangguan Kesehatan Mental pada individu dengan rentang usia transisi remaja menuju ke dewasa (16-24) tahun semakin meresahkan. Tujuan dilakukannya kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran mahasiswa terkait Kesehatan Mental. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini, diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi untuk masyarakat khususnya kalangan mahasiwa mengenai pentingnya Kesehatan Mental dan mengurangi angka permasalahan serta gangguan Kesehatan Mental yang dialami Masyarakat Indonesia khususnya Kota Medan. Selain itu, dengan dilakukannya kegiatan ini diharapakan Mahasiswa Psikologi sebagai calon stakeholder dan praktisi Kesehatan Mental jika telah lulus nanti, serta agen perubahan-dapat menginspirasi (role model) mahasiswa di fakultas lainnya maupun remaja yang masih sekolah, untuk lebih sadar dan memahami pentingnya menjaga Kesehatan Mental. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini dilakukan terhadap 40 Mahasiswa Psikologi Universitas Tjut Nyak Dhien dengan bentuk penyuluhan, yaitu Psikoedukasi dengan Metode Eksperiensial. Dari kegiatan ini para mahasiswa memperoleh pengetahuan dan informasi tentang Kesehatan Mental, serta mengubah stigma negatif menjadi perilaku yang lebih sehat baik bagi dirinya maupun orang lain. Kekurangan dalam kegiatan ini adalah terbatas pada Mahasiswa Psikologi saja, oleh karenanya untuk ke depan kegiatan yang sama juga masih harus dilakukan di jurusan-jurusan lain, serta di berbagai Universitas yang ada di Kota Medan.

Abstract

The absence of a father figure, often termed fatherlessness, has profound implications for adolescent psychological development, particularly in the regulation and expression of emotion. This qualitative study aims to explore how fatherless adolescent boys regulate their emotions and derive meaning from their experiences of paternal absence. Three male participants aged 18–22 who had experienced fatherlessness due to death or parental separation were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews and analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis as proposed by Braun and Clarke. The analysis identified four core themes: (1) Negative Emotions Due to Father Absence, including sadness, social comparison, and emotional instability; (2) Emotion Regulation through Avoidance and Distraction, such as engaging in sports, digital entertainment, and isolation; (3) Emotional Expression and Maladaptive Coping, including substance use, aggression, and spiritual reflection; and (4) Meaning-Making and Identity Reconstruction, in which participants described increased independence, self-reliance, and the aspiration to be a source of pride for their remaining parent, typically the mother. The findings reveal that while fatherless adolescents exhibit emotional vulnerability, they also show potential for resilience and post-traumatic growth when supported by meaningful relationships and personal coping mechanisms. It is recommended that psychological interventions for fatherless youth include emotion-focused therapy, cognitive restructuring, and mentorship programs to foster positive male identity development and emotional well-being.

Abstract

Naturalist intelligence is an intelligence that is a combination of the characteristics of a child which includes skills in recognizing, classifying flora and fauna and other natural objects and having awareness of environmental conditions and the beauty within themselves. The environment and nature are the most important thoughts for the early development of a child's mindset. Through the intermediaries of the environment and nature, children are free to move and develop their naturalist intelligence. Writing this thesis aims to find the relationship between interior and exterior design in developing children's naturalist intelligence. The research method used is qualitative research where this research has nothing to do with numbers but this research will explain in sentences or in the form of a description of the phenomenon that is happening when researched.

Abstract

Insight is enhanced through this dedication, students' writing skills and their productivity in compiling scientific papers with the mendeley application. Mendeley is software that aids in the insertion, writing and completion of citations. This device is very useful for its users, especially students who make reference lists. Many people do not yet know the mendeley application and its benefits. Socialisation is the means by which this service activity is executed, training and mentoring. At the socialization stage, the concept of material about citation techniques using mendeley is disseminated quickly and effectively. Next, the second stage, training and mentoring, begins. Students are given instructions on how to install and utilise the mendeley programme directly in order to achieve the set goals. Students do not know or understand how to find and enter references and citations to the mendeley software, according to the findings of the discussion before the training. However, using the outcomes of the training subsequent to the distribution of the material, the practice and mentoring of students has proven to be very easy to apply the information they have learned by using the mendeley application directly.
