Religious communities use the internet as a spiritual network to seek spiritual goals, and they interpret it through narratives shared through online spaces. This emphasizes the need for freedom and spiritual experiences so that they can share with others. So, people often associate their participation in online religion with a level of spirituality and confirmation of religious identity. Online religion seeks to adapt religion to form a network of spiritual interactions. This study discusses the use of the Internet by Majlis Tafsir Al-Qur'an (MTA) on the website www.mta.or.id in communicating ideology to the congregation. This research data collection uses the method of observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the use of digital technology by MTA is to promote ideology. MTA announces content regarding manhaj, terrorism, politics, the spirit of friendship / ukhuwah between members, and cooperation between scholars and the government.

Technology always has two faces. Radicalism found its heaven when the Internet can be used as a media for propaganda and for recruiting new members. On the contrary, the Internet could also be used to counter radicalism. Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Terorisme (BNPT) in collaboration with Pusat Media Damai (PMD) has three websites such as jalandamai.org, damailahindonesiaku.com, dan damai.id to support that mission. Using qualitative content analysis, this research aims to describe the way of these websites are fighting online radicalism. This research found that there are two steps that these websites took to propagate anti radicalism, by sensitizing the spread of radicalism and what kind of actual action that can be done to against it.

Movie, as a means of mass communication, narrating life in a set of binary - that have different privilege. This research wants to examine movie entitled Rashomon, directed by Akira Kurosawa in 1950, in narrating gender as one of characters code that gave diverse contradictive testimonies about the same events; rape and murder. Rashomon used multiple narrators that build the same story from different point of view that lead to the subjectivity and relativity of truth which the director didn’t give the audience clue how to interpret it. The characters that consist of one women and six men give us a glimpse of sign that there is no gender neutrality will be found in this movie, just like what feminist narratologist saying. With deconstructive approach, this research wants to traces the micro-power of textual process, exposing centralizing and unravelling aspects, making less visible aspects more apparent about gender in movie. Deconstructive reading of Rashomon will generating new discourse about binary opposition men/women by questioning masculinity. Keywords: Movie, Gender, Narrative, Deconstruction, Rashomon

In Indonesia, the Korean wave (Hallyu) has become the most popular phenomenon in the past few years. One of the products from Hallyu is Korean pop music or also known as K-pop. The development of K-pop in Indonesia grows rapidly through the internet and social media that easy to access. The convenience offered by social media makes fans feel close to their idols. This study tries to analyze the phenomenon of fan behavior on social media towards their idols, where their media behavior leads to parasocial interactions. Parasocial interactions can be defined as the extent to which fans interact psychologically with media characters. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to see how the process of parasocial interaction and media activities carried out by Army on Twitter social media through their psychological response occurs in this study. The result of this study then analyzed using PSI-Process Scale categorization. This study used a qualitative methodology and collect data through interviews and observations. The results showed that all informants actively interacted with BTS through social media Twitter, where the parasocial interaction involved the informants' psychological responses. All of the informants give cognitive responses, affective responses, and behavioral responses when carrying out their parasocial interactions.Keywords: Fandom, parasocial interaction, K-Pop, social media.

AbstractOnline Learning makes parents indirectly have a close relationship with teachers. However, to get good communication, both parties do not just communicate but also must have certain techniques to be able to produce positive and efficient communication. The focus of this research is centered on the interpersonal communication process carried out by parents to teachers using CMC theory. This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. The sample taken in this study were 5 parents in SD Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri Surakarta, where the researcher only interviewed one parent who accompanied their child when learning online. This research uses probability sampling with simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique is done through online interviews, non-participant observation, document studies and using triangulation techniques. The results showed that when in distance learning conditions, the strategies adopted by parents were adjusted to their character, because the characters were different, it would affect the way of openness/communication. Then it is also related to the communication media provided.Abstrak Online learning membuat para orang tua secara tidak langsung memiliki hubungan yang erat dengan para guru. Namun, untuk mendapatkan komunikasi yang baik, kedua belah pihak tidak hanya sekedar berkomunikasi saja tetapi juga harus memiliki teknik tertentu agar mampu menghasilkan komunikasi yang positif dan efisien. Fokus penelitian ini terpusat pada proses komunikasi interpersonal yang dilakukan oleh orang tua kepada guru dengan menggunakan teori CMC. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan MENGGUNAKAN pendekatan kualitatif. Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah 5 orang tua murid SD Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri Surakarta, dimana peneliti hanya mewawancarai salah satu orang tua saja yang mendampingi anaknya ketika pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini menggunakan probability sampling dengan teknik simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan datanya dilakukan melalui wawancara secara daring, observasi non partisipan, studi dokumen dan menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketika dalam kondisi Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh, maka strategi yang dilakukan oleh orang tua yaitu disesuaikan dengan karakter mereka, karena karakternya berbeda maka akan mempengaruhi cara keterbukaan/cara komunikasi. Kemudian juga berkaitan dengan media komunikasi yang diberikan.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana penggunaan media sosial facebook untuk memelihara hubungan pertemanan. Teori utama dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Computer Mediated Communication (CMC). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis isi kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara. Peneliti menggunakan empat informan yaitu dua ibu rumah tangga, satu perempuan yang belum menikah dan satu laki-laki belum menikah. Hasil menunjukkan, pertemanan dalam facebook dapat dilakukan oleh siapa saja, mulai dari yang belum menikah sampai yang sudah menikah, mereka dapat menjalin hubungan pertemanan di facebook. Keempat informan dalam penelitian ini sudah menjalin hubungan pertemanan melalui facebook selama 3-9 tahun. Untuk memelihara hubungan pertemanan, terdapat empat jenis perilaku pemeliharaan hubungan yaitu melakukan komunikasi yang mendukung, minat bersama, pasif browsing dan pencarian informasi. Berdasarkan data, informan tidak hanya melakukan komunikasi melalui facebook tetapi juga bertemu secara langsung.

Weverse merupakan media sosial resmi khusus untuk meng-hosting konten media dan komunikasi antara penggemar dan idola secara langsung sehingga Weverse digunakan oleh para fandom ARMY untuk melakukan interaksi sosial. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui proses interaksi sosial yang terjadi antara sesama fandom ARMY melalui media sosial Weverse. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dengan lima narasumber yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling dan dokumentasi dari penggunaan Weverse oleh fandom ARMY. Hasil analisis interaksi sosial di Weverse menunjukkan bahwa penggemar tertentu menjadi gatekeeper digital bagi penggemar yang lain. Interaksi tidak hanya untuk memberikan dukungan yang bersifat asosiatif (positif) tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai penyaring pesan dari perilaku disosiatif (negatif) penggemar lain. Weverse is the official social media specifically for hosting media content and direct communication between fans and idols, so Weverse is used by ARMY fandoms for social interaction. This study aims to determine the social interaction process between fellow ARMY fandoms through Weverse. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach using phenomenology. Data were collected through interviews with five participants selected using a purposive sampling technique and documentation of the use of Weverse by the ARMY fandom. The analysis of social interaction in Weverse showed that some fans became digital gatekeepers for other fans. Interactions were not only to provide associative (positive) support but also functioned as message filters for other fans from dissociative (negative) behaviors.

Fans draw sharply the line between what falls within their fandom and what does not. Accumulation and appreciation of knowledge regarding fan’s objects of fandom are important for fan cultural capital. Fiske’s pre-internet model of fan productivity occurs at the interface between industrially-produced cultural commodities and the everyday life of the fan. Fan talk is a circulation mechanism of certain meanings of the object of fandom implying the membership of a particular fan community. BTS is a K-Pop group that uses online exposure with a variety of contents ranging from members personal message to behind-the-scenes footage to create deeper levels of intimacy with their fans. This helps them to advance their careers and create alliances with their fans. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to explore BTS fan’s participation in fan talk activities shared within face-to-face communication. The data collection techniques used were in-depth interviews and participant observations of four BTS’s fans (called ARMY). The result shows that fan talk is one way of expressing the existence of fans. Digital media and the internet have allowed BTS' fans to share a wide range of signifiers and meanings from their music quickly and easily. This has created a form of symbolic interaction among fans that can be used to communicate concepts and ideas among one another. This enunciative productivity of fans is also serving a widespread promotional function for non-fans.

Fandom pada awalnya dianggap pasif karena menjadi pihak yang hanya mengkonsumsi konten dari media. Budaya partisipasi membuat kegiatan penggemar dalam fandom mengalami pergeseran menjadi lebih aktif dan produktif. Peran fandom yang aktif dan produktif ditunjukkan dengan berbagai bentuk produktivitas. Fanfiction merupakan bentuk produktivitas fandom dan bukti bahwa penggemar tidak hanya mengkonsumsi konten dari media melainkan dapat memproduksinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi penggemar BTS dalam menulis Fanfiction di Wattpad. Teori motivasi penggemar yang dikemukakan oleh Wann digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hal-hal yang mempengaruhi penggemar BTS untuk menulis Fanfiction. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pengambilan sampel data penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara secara daring dan observasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggemar termotivasi untuk menulis Fanfiction karena menulis Fanfiction merupakan kegiatan yang produktif dan dapat digunakan untuk mempromosikan BTS. Penggemar BTS juga ingin membuat storyline yang berbeda dengan teks mainstream. Menulis Fanfiction menjadi cara penggemar BTS untuk melarikan diri dari masalah hidup dan mencari hiburan.
