Abstract

Papaya is the one of Indonesian plant which has a lot of health benefits. The part of the plant that often used is the leaves. The one of papaya’s leaves benefit is used as antioxidant for various diseases. The substance that use as antioxidant is vitamin C. This observation is order to find out the level of vitamin C in papaya’s young and old leaves extract by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The determination of vitamin C level was done by quantitative and qualitative tests of papaya’s leaves extract that obtained by infusion. Qualitative tests was conducted by flavonoid test and alkaloid test with color reagent. While the quantitative test is determined based on the absorbance value using UV-Vis spechtrophotometry that measured at wavelength of 265 nm with comparison of ascorbic acid. The result was obtained that papaya’s leaves extract are contained flavonoids and alkaloids with an average level of vitamin C in young papaya’s leaves in amount of 0.299%, compare with old papaya’s leaves in amount of 0,421%. Statistical test result shows the assymp sign value is 0,00 < 0,05, it indicates that the age of the leaves influences the significance of vitamin C level on papaya leaves.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the banana exporting countries. There are so many kinds of bananas, one of which is plantain. Plantain contains several ingredients such as flavonoids which have several properties including antioxidants and antimicrobial activity. This study aims to determine the levels of flavonoids in the ethanol extract of plantain stalks with variations in extraction time. The method used was experimental research with three groups of plant extraction treatments, namely extraction time of 2, 3, and 5 days. The extraction method uses maceration with 70% ethanol solvent. Flavonoid levels were obtained using the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method. The yield of extracted results obtained for the duration of 2, 3, and 5 days was 9.97% respectively; 12.62% and 14.14% with average levels of flavonoids obtained respectively 2.69 mg / gram; 5.10 mg / gram and 8.82 mg / gram

Abstract

Water guava leaves contain chemical compounds such as flavonoids, tannins and saponins. As a medicinal preparation, water guava leaves can be made into an ointment. This study aims to determine the ointment formulation, conduct physical evaluation of the ointment and determine the effect of different types of ointment base extracts of water guava leaves on physical properties. Water guava leaves extract was made by maceration method of ethanol 70% solvent. Ointment are made with four types of bases which include hydrocarbon base, absorption, water washed and water soluble. Each formula was tested for physical properties including organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, dispersal, and adhesion. The data obtained were then analyzed using the One Way ANOVA test method. The results showed that the four ointment formulas had different shapes and colors, had the same odor and had good homogeneity. The pH test of the hydrocarbon bases ointment was 4.09, the absorption bases was 3.98, the water-washed bases was 4.33, and the water-soluble base was 3.87 did not meet the pH test parameters. The dispersibility test results for hydrocarbon bases 6.20 cm, absorption basis 6.19 cm met the test parameters, base ointment was washed with water 3.99 cm, water soluble base 3.49 cm did not meet the dispersibility test parameters. The results of the adhesion test for hydrocarbon bases 11.85, absorption bases 12.11, water washable bases 20.03, and water soluble bases 4.97, which means they meet the adhesion test parameters. The results of the One Way ANOVA test showed that the pH test, spreadability and adhesion had the same significant value, namely 0.000 <0.05. These results indicate that the different types of ointment bases used have a significant effect on pH, dispersion and adhesion.

Abstract

Beetroot (Beta vulgaris var. rubra (L) Moq.) has the pigment betasianin which produces a red color and is often used as a natural coloring agent in food so that it can be developed to be used as a dye in cosmetic products. The purpose of this study was to determine the lip balm preparation formulation of beetroot extract (Beta vulgaris var. rubra (L) Moq.) as a natural dye and physical evaluation. In this study using a descriptive experimental method using variations in the concentration of beetroot extract. The variations in the concetration of beetroot extract were F1 0%, F2 1%, F3 5% and F4 10%. From each formula, a physical lip balm test was carried out including the organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, melting point test, and preference test. The result showed that the lip balm preparation on F1 was yellow, F2 was peach, F3 was pink and F4 was maroon. F1, F2, F3 have the distinctive smell of oleum cacao, while F4 has the distinctive smell of lanolin. And semi solid preparation. Homogeneity test F1, F2, F3 and F4 have homogeneous preparations. pH test at F1 5.26; F2 5.03; F3 4.87 and F4 4.76. melting point test of all formulas melting at 50°C for F1 and F2 for 12 minutes, F3 10 minutes and F4 for 6 minutes. The preference test concluded that the panelists preferred F4.

Abstract

Self-medication is a community effort to treat symptoms without a doctor's prescription. With self-medication, complaints can be resolved and resolved quickly and effectively. Medicines that are sold freely in kiosks make it easier for people to get drugs to carry out self-medicated actions. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of using analgesic drugs by self-medication in students of Polytechnic Indonusa Surakarta. This research is a cross sectional approach. Data collection using a questionnaire via google form to 88 respondents. The sampling technique used is random sampling by taking sample members randomly. Quantitative data processing uses Microsoft Office Excel.The results showed that the characteristics of the respondents who participated in this study were mostly women aged 17-25 years from 5 study programs, namely D3 Pharmacy, D3 Mass Communication, D3 Hospitality, D3 Information Management and D3 Automotive Machinery. The most pain complaints experienced by respondents were headache, toothache and menstrual pain. Respondents tended to use 1 type of synthetic drug or traditional / herbal medicine with only 1 type of active ingredient composition and more often mentioned the generic name of the drug when buying the drug. Respondents preferred paracetamol to deal with pain complaints. The place of purchase of self-medicated drugs is more dominant in pharmacies. Most of the reasons for doing self-medication were because of the experience of recovering with the same medicine and the perception that the disease was mild.

Abstract

Beetroot (Beta vulgaris var. Rubra (L.) Moq.). is one of the most useful food ingredients, one of the benefits is to provide a natural color in the manufacture of products. Beetroot contains betasianin, so that the cosmetic formulation of betasianin contained in beetroot produces a red color that can be used as a natural dye for blush. The extraction of betacyanin was carried out by maceration method using 70% ethanol with a ratio of 1: 7. Blush was made into three formulas with different extract concentration variations, namely 25%, 45% and 65%. Each formula was subjected to physical evaluation including organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, adhesion test and preference test. The organoleptic test results of the three formulas had different colors, namely pink to purplish red because the beet root extracts used varied. The results of the pH test in formula 1, formula 2 and formula 3 are 7,10; 6.23 and 5.24 indicate that the first formulation does not meet the good pH requirements, namely 4.5-6.5. The result of adhesion test was 38.5%; 35.6% and 36.7%. The results of the favorite test using SPSS One Way ANOVA in the color category showed that formula 1 was significantly different from formulas 2 and 3, while in the aroma, color and texture categories there was no significant difference between the three blush formulas.

Abstract

Krim pemutih merupakan produk yang dapat memutihkan kulit atau memucatkan noda hitam pada kulit. Salah satu zat kimia yang mungkin ditambahkan ke dalam krim pemutih adalah hidrokuinon. Bahaya penggunaan hidrokuinon yaitu berbahaya jika ditelan, iritasi saluran pernafasan, iritasi kulit, iritasi mata, dan reaksi alergi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kadar hidrokuinon pada krim pemutih yang beredar di Pasar Kartasura. Pemeriksaan hidrokuinon dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Uji kualitatif hidrokuinon dilakukan dengan pereaksi warna FeCl3 1%. Sedangkan uji kuantitatif hidrokuinon dilakukan dengan penentuan kadar senyawa menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Pengujian dilakukan terhadap lima merek krim pemutih yang beredar di Pasar Kartasura. Hasil uji kuantitatif dari lima merek krim pemutih, terdapat empat merek krim pemutih yang mengandung hidrokuinon, yaitu sampel A dengan kadar 0,014±0,005 mg/g; sampel B 0,019±0,005 mg/g; sampel C 0,052±0,022 mg/g; dan sampel D 0,001±0,001 mg/g

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara yang memiliki kekayaan alam berlimpah. Banyak tanaman di Indonesia yang telah diteliti khasiat dan kegunaannya secara mendalam, salah satunya yaitu rumput teki (Cyperus rotundus Linn.). Rumput teki memiliki kandungan flavonoid yang bermanfaat untuk meredakan nyeri, sebagai antibakteri dan antidiare. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kadar flavonoid total dari daun dan herba rumput teki. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu daun dan herba rumput teki, yang dperoleh dari wilayah Kelurahan Wonorejo, Kecamatan Kalijambe, Kabupaten Sragen. Metode ekstraksi menggunakan maserasi selama 5 hari dengan pelarut etanol 70%. Larutan pembanding yang digunakan adalah kuersetin. Kadar flavonoid ditentukan dengan metode spektrofotometri Uv-Vis. Hasil dari penetapan kadar flavonoid menunjukkan bahwa kadar flavonoid pada herba rumput teki lebih besar yaitu 12,23 ± 0,56 µg/g EQ dibandingkan dengan kadar flavonoid pada daun rumput teki sebesar 10,86 ± 0,31 µg/g EQ.

Abstract

Penyimpanan adalah suatu kegiatan menyimpan dan memelihara dengan cara menempatkan sediaan farmasi dan bahan medis habis pakai yang diterima pada tempat yang dinilai aman. Tujuan penyimpanan adalah untuk memelihara mutu sediaan farmasi, menghindari penggunaan yang tidak bertanggungjawab, menghindari kehilangan dan pencurian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kesesuaian penyimpanan obat di farmasi RSU Aisyiyah Ponorogo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian survei deskriptif. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi di farmasi RSU Aisyiyah Ponorogo yang meliputi logistik farmasi, farmasi rawat jalan 1, farmasi rawat jalan 2, farmasi rawat inap, dan depo farmasi IBS. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di RSU Aisyiyah Ponorogo tentang evaluasi penyimpanan obat di farmasi RSU Aisyiyah Ponorogo dapat disimpulkan bahwa di farmasi RSU Aisyiyah Ponorogo tingkat kesesuaian penyimpanan obat berdasarkan petunjuk teknis standar pelayanan kefarmasian di rumah sakit kemenkes RI 2019 di logistik farmasi yang sesuai sebesar 70,27% dan tidak sesuai sebesar 29,73%, di farmasi rawat jalan 1 yang sesuai sebesar 83,78% dan tidak sesuai sebesar 16,22%, di farmasi rawat jalan 2 yang sesuai sebesar 81,08% dan tidak sesuai sebesar 18,92%, di farmasi rawat inap yang sesuai sebesar 83,78% dan tidak sesuai sebesar 16,22%, dan di depo IBS yang sesuai sebesar 81,08% dan tidak sesuai sebesar 18,92%.

Abstract

Kulit buah kakao (Theobroma cacao) mengandung sejumlah zat fitokimia yaitu alkaloid, saponin, tannin, fenolik, flavonoid, triterpene, glikosida. Ekstrak etanol 70% kulit buah kakao memiliki aktivitas antioksidan sangat kuat (nilai IC50 10,03 ±5,32 bjp). Masker gel peel off yang karakteristiknya dipengaruhi oleh basis berupa film forming, gelling agent, dan humetan. Bahan yang dapat digunakan sebagai film forming secara optimal yaitu PVA dengan konsentrasi 12-13,5%. Gelling agent yang menghasilkan hasil optimal dalam masker peel off gel yaitu HPMC dengan konsentrasi 3 – 5%. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh pada F1, F2 dan F3 secara berturut turut yaitu uji daya sebar 6 cm; 5,4 cm dan 4,3 cm. Uji daya lekat 24,29 detik; 36,42 detik; dan 44,52 detik. Waktu mengering 24,80 menit; 21,35 menit; dan 18,43 menit. Berdasarkan hasil uji stastistika denagan Uji Kruskall Wallis dapat disimpulkan bahwa variasi PVA sebagai gelling agent berpengaruh terhadap uji daya lekat, uji daya sebar, uji viskositas, dan uji waktu mengering.
