Abstract

Moderasi dalam beragama adalah sebuah konsep yang menggarisbawahi pentingnya menjaga keseimbangan dalam mempraktikkan dan memahami konsep-konsep agama. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman kepada para guru tentang penting menerapkan moderasi beragama dalam dunia pendidikan agar tejalin toleransi antara rekan guru, siswa maupun masyarakat sekitar. Metode yang digunakan adalah berupa sosialisasi didiberikan oleh Kepala Bagian Paud dan pemaparan materi oleh tim pengabdian. Peserta dalam kegiatan ini adalah para guru PAUD yang dipilih dari beberapa sekolah di Sarmi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini adalah peerta sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan dan akan mempraktekkan apa yang diperoleh ketika kembali ke tempat kerja maupun di masyarakat.

Abstract

Social and technological changes affect the way Sunday school children at GKI Diaspora Doyo Baru interact with others, including in terms of religious values and spirituality. Rigid curriculum and conventional teaching methods may no longer appeal to the Alpha generation, which grew up in the digital era. Therefore, it is necessary to identify effective ways to nurture and develop the spirituality of the Alpha generation in this technological era. This study aims to create a video learning method to enhance the spirituality of the Alpha generation in the Sunday School of the GKI Diaspora Doyo Baru congregation. Qualitative approaches are used in this study, and participant observation and interviews are used to obtain data. The results showed that Sunday school teachers of the GKI Diaspora Doyo Baru congregation have paid good attention to the challenges faced by the Alpha generation. The video media designed by Sunday school teachers proved to be effective and efficient as an innovative learning tool to nurture children's faith because it provides a strong appeal. Video media can be a "future savings" for the spiritual and moral development of the Alpha generation.

Abstract

This research was conducted at TK Satu Atap Sabron Sari, Kampung Sabron Sari, Sentani Barat District, Jayapura Regency, focusing on the effectiveness of using picture cards as a medium to enhance early reading skills in young children. Established on July 9, 2010, under the auspices of Yayasan Laskar Kristus, this kindergarten offers a conducive and comfortable learning environment, making it a preferred choice for many parents in the area. The study employed an observational method with a two-cycle learning approach. In Cycle I, it was found that the majority of the students were categorized as Not Yet Developed in reading ability. However, in Cycle II, following the implementation of picture cards as a learning medium, there was a significant improvement in reading skills, with an increase in the number of students achieving Developed According to Expectations and Fully Developed categories. These results indicate that the use of picture cards is an effective method to enhance early reading skills. This study underscores the importance of selecting appropriate learning media to support the learning process in early childhood, especially in the context of beginning reading skills.

Abstract

The decline in local language use and in children's awareness of local culture pose challenges for non-formal education. This community service activity aims to strengthen preservation of the Sentani language and promote local culture through contextual, participatory learning. The program was implemented at the Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) Rotehbu, Sentani, Papua, involving faculty members, students from the Early Childhood Education Program, and learners through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach that emphasizes a collaborative cycle of action, observation, and reflection. The activity was designed to integrate Sentani language learning and local cultural practices by preparing papeda as an experiential, context-based learning medium. The results showed increased participants' engagement in using the Sentani language, strengthened understanding of local culture, and growing awareness and pride in cultural identity. Furthermore, this activity strengthened the partnership between academics and the community and provided students with a culturally-based learning experience within the context of community service. These findings confirm that integrating local languages, cultural practices, and non-formal education within the PAR framework is an effective strategy for supporting community empowerment and sustainable cultural preservation.   Abstrak Penurunan penggunaan bahasa daerah dan melemahnya pengenalan budaya lokal pada anak usia sekolah menjadi tantangan dalam pendidikan nonformal. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat pelestarian bahasa Sentani dan penguatan budaya lokal melalui pembelajaran kontekstual dan partisipatif. Program dilaksanakan di Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) Rotehbu, Sentani, Papua, dengan melibatkan dosen, mahasiswa Program Studi PKAUD, serta murid melalui pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang menekankan siklus aksi, observasi, dan refleksi secara kolaboratif. Kegiatan dirancang dengan mengintegrasikan pembelajaran bahasa Sentani dan praktik budaya lokal melalui pengolahan papeda sebagai media pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis pengalaman. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan keterlibatan aktif peserta dalam penggunaan bahasa Sentani, penguatan pemahaman budaya lokal, serta tumbuhnya kesadaran dan kebanggaan terhadap identitas budaya. Selain itu, kegiatan ini memperkuat kemitraan antara akademisi dan komunitas serta memberikan pengalaman pembelajaran berbasis budaya bagi mahasiswa dalam konteks pengabdian masyarakat. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa integrasi bahasa daerah, praktik budaya, dan pendidikan nonformal dalam kerangka PAR merupakan strategi efektif dalam mendukung pemberdayaan komunitas dan pelestarian budaya secara berkelanjutan.
