Abstract

This study stems from the researcher's concern about the education agency's policy that ignores the development of Christian Religious Education teacher competencies through workshops, workshops, and seminars and the teacher's efforts that are not optimal in developing pedagogical, professional, personality, and social abilities in the world of work. The purpose of this study is to analyze the problematic performance of PAK teachers in State Junior High Schools in Sentani District, Jayapura Regency in the world of work. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative, while data collection techniques are interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results showed that PAK teachers at SMP Se-Distrik Sentani Kota have not been optimal in improving pedagogical and professional competencies as support in the world of work. Another finding is that in the aspect of personality and social competence, teachers only focus on the internal school and ignore the external school. The school has not played an optimal role in developing the professional and social competence of PAK teachers through scientific activities of workshops, workshops, and seminars.

Abstract

Cultural traditions in Indonesia are very diverse, including the Mawe tradition on Buru Island, Maluku which is believed to be able to provide clues to uncover cases or problems that often occur. Uniquely, this tradition uses the spirits of deceased ancestors, which is a ritual led by traditional elders to provide clues that can explain a problem. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach and analysis of supporting Bible verses. As a result, from the theological studies conducted, it is known that rituals of seances have also been carried out in the biblical tradition, but it is clear that this tradition is contrary to the Bible. The Christian theological view is very clear that believers are not justified under any circumstances to perform seances because it is a form of syncretism.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the control functions within Christian families at the GKI El Roi Church in Sentani, Papua, in shaping the character of Generation Alpha children. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the research identifies four main functions: religious, affection, supervision, and social-educational. Data were collected through interviews and observations of 25 families with Generation Alpha children, and analyzed through transcript data, data reduction, and presentation to draw conclusions. The findings show that the religious function is well-implemented, shaping children's morals and spirituality from an early age. However, the affection function is not fully optimized due to parents' time constraints and family environment influences. Supervision within the community is adequate, but control over gadget use remains insufficient. Meanwhile, the social and educational functions are carried out effectively. Optimization of the control function is necessary to shape children's character according to parental expectations. Better supervision of gadget use would also reduce children's dependency and promote healthier interactions. In conclusion, a holistic approach to the control function in Christian families at GKI El Roi is essential to shaping strong and wise children capable of facing the challenges of the digital era. Melalui metode deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi empat fungsi utama: keagamaan, cinta kasih, pengawasan, serta sosial dan pendidikan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan observasi terhadap 25 keluarga yang memiliki anak Generasi Alpha, lalu dianalisis melalui transkrip data, reduksi data, dan penyajian hingga mencapai kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fungsi keagamaan diterapkan dengan baik, membentuk moral dan spiritual anak sejak dini. Namun, fungsi cinta kasih belum maksimal karena keterbatasan waktu orang tua dan pengaruh lingkungan keluarga. Pengawasan di lingkungan berjalan cukup baik, namun kontrol penggunaan gadget masih kurang optimal. Sementara itu, fungsi sosial dan pendidikan dilaksanakan dengan baik. Optimalisasi fungsi kontrol diperlukan agar karakter anak terbentuk sesuai harapan orang tua. Pengawasan lebih baik terhadap penggunaan gadget juga akan mengurangi ketergantungan anak dan mendorong interaksi yang lebih sehat. Kesimpulannya, pendekatan holistik dalam fungsi kontrol keluarga Kristen di Jemaat GKI El Roi diperlukan untuk membentuk karakter anak yang kuat dan bijaksana dalam menghadapi tantangan era digital.Kata Kunci: fungsi kontrol; keluarga kristen; karakter; generasi alpha; GKI El-Roi Sentani

Abstract

Community service activities conducted by the Department of Early Childhood Christian Education (PKAUD) at STAKPN Sentani aim to enhance early childhood motor skills at PAUD and TK Bethel Sentani through interactive games. These activities include coconut shell stilts (egrang batok kelapa), role-playing with the theme of "buyers and sellers," and alphabet arranging with the theme of "arranging one's own name." The implementation of these games is expected to improve both gross and fine motor skills in children, as well as their cognitive and social abilities. Observations indicate that coconut shell stilts help with body balance and coordination, while role-playing and alphabet arranging enhance creativity, communication, and early literacy skills. This program not only provides practical benefits to PAUD and TK Bethel Sentani but also enriches academic insights in early childhood education literature.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of socialization on the use of the School Activity Plan and Budget Application (ARKAS) for PAUD principals in Sentani District, Jayapura Regency. Socialization methods included intensive training in the use of ARKAS for budget planning, activity monitoring, and school financial reporting. Data was collected through direct observation and interviews with socialization participants. The results showed significant improvements in principals' understanding and skills in using ARKAS, as well as improvements in the efficiency of school budget management. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of ARKAS effectively supports transparency and accountability in the management of PAUD school funds, with positive implications for the quality of education in Sentani District. The study recommends widespread implementation of ARKAS in PAUD schools as a step towards more structured and efficient education management.

Abstract

Abstract: This study investigates the relationship between learning motivation and academic achievement of students at SMTK Gloria Sentani, Jayapura Regency. Learning motivation is a crucial factor in achieving optimal academic performance. The research employs a correlational approach with a focus on the entire student population at SMTK Gloria Sentani, comprising 35 individuals. Data collection is conducted through a questionnaire using the Guttman scale. The analysis results indicate that the learning motivation of students at SMTK Gloria Sentani is still low, with an interpreted score of 29.6%. Meanwhile, the academic achievement of students correlates at 55.6%, indicating that motivational factors have an influence, albeit in a weak correlation level. Despite the weak correlation, learning motivation factors still contribute to students' academic performance. This research also reveals that some students exhibit low internal and external motivation, which may be a contributing factor to their low academic achievement. Abstrak: Studi ini menginvestigasi hubungan antara motivasi belajar dan prestasi belajar siswa di SMTK Gloria Sentani, Kabupaten Jayapura. Motivasi belajar adalah faktor penting dalam pencapaian prestasi belajar yang optimal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan korelasional dengan fokus pada seluruh populasi peserta didik di SMTK Gloria Sentani, yaitu 35 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner dengan skala Guttman. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar peserta didik di SMTK Gloria Sentani masih rendah, dengan interpretasi skor sebesar 29.6%. Sementara itu, prestasi belajar peserta didik berkorelasi sebesar 55.6%, menunjukkan bahwa faktor motivasi memiliki pengaruh, meskipun dalam tingkat korelasi yang lemah. Meskipun korelasinya lemah, faktor motivasi belajar tetap memberikan kontribusi terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian ini juga mengungkapkan bahwa sebagian siswa memiliki motivasi internal dan eksternal yang rendah, yang mungkin menjadi penyebab rendahnya prestasi belajar.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the competence of academic writers at STAKPN Sentani in using Mendeley reference management software. The training was designed to help lecturers and writers meet current regulations for producing and publishing scientific works. Participants were grouped into novice writers and those with low SINTA scores. Using an On-the-Job Training (OJT) approach, the sessions were held directly in the participants’ workplace. twenty writers from the departments of Christian Religious Education, Church Music, Theology, and Early Childhood Education took part. The program included initial coordination, core training, and outcome evaluation. Results showed that all participants successfully mastered the use of Mendeley, enabling them to improve the quality and quantity of scientific publications and thereby contribute to increasing the overall SINTA score of STAKPN Sentani.Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi penulis akademik di STAKPN Sentani dalam menggunakan perangkat lunak manajemen referensi Mendeley. Pelatihan ini dirancang untuk membantu dosen dan penulis memenuhi ketentuan terkini dalam penyusunan dan publikasi karya ilmiah. Peserta dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu penulis pemula dan penulis dengan skor SINTA rendah. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan On-the-Job Training (OJT), sesi pelatihan dilaksanakan langsung di lingkungan kerja peserta. Sebanyak dua puluh penulis yang berasal dari Program Studi Pendidikan Agama Kristen, Musik Gereja, Teologi, dan Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini mengikuti kegiatan ini. Program meliputi tiga tahapan yakni koordinasi awal, pelatihan inti, dan evaluasi hasil. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh peserta berhasil menguasai penggunaan Mendeley, sehingga mampu meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas publikasi ilmiah serta berkontribusi pada peningkatan skor SINTA STAKPN Sentani secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

Masalah sosial emosional anak di SD Inpres Doyo Baru, seperti rendahnya keberanian berbicara, interaksi yang terbatas antar kelompok budaya, dan kurangnya empati, mendorong perlunya intervensi berbasis kontekstual. Program Funshare dikembangkan sebagai upaya pengabdian masyarakat untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial emosional anak melalui pendekatan partisipatif dan kolaboratif. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama tiga hari, terdiri dari enam sesi tematik yang melibatkan permainan edukatif, diskusi kelompok, dan aktivitas berbagi. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi langsung, catatan fasilitator, dan wawancara dengan guru. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada aspek kerja sama (80%), kemampuan bersosialisasi (75%), ekspresi emosi (70%), dan empati (60%). Anak-anak menjadi lebih terbuka, berani berbicara, dan aktif menjalin hubungan sosial lintas kelompok. Kegiatan ini berdampak pada terciptanya lingkungan belajar yang inklusif dan mendukung pengembangan karakter anak. Funshare terbukti sebagai model efektif dalam menumbuhkan keterampilan sosial emosional anak di lingkungan pendidikan dasar.
