Abstract

This study aims to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII G students of SMP Negeri 4 Salatiga in the material Surface Area of Flat Sided Buildings through the PBL (Problem Based Learning) model with the CRT (Culturally Responsive Teaching) approach. This research is classroom action research conducted in two cycles using the Kemmis and MC Taggart models with 4 stages namely planning, implementation, observation/observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were class VIII G students of SMP Negeri 4 Salatiga for the 2022/2023 academic year, consisting of 30 students (15 boys and 15 girls). The technique of collecting data in this research uses observation sheets of the implementation of learning and learning achievement tests. The criteria for the success of learning outcomes in this study were increasing the class average score in each cycle and the class achieving classical mastery (many students who completed individually  85%). The results of this study showed an increase in class average scores from pre-cycle to cycle 1 (from 62.7 to 77.03) and cycle 1 to cycle 2 (from 77.03 to 84.1) and the achievement of classical mastery of 86. 67%. The conclusion obtained in this study is that the application of the PBL model with the CRT approach has succeeded in increasing the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII G students of SMP Negeri 4 Salatiga on the material surface area of flat side shapes.

Abstract

Low Learning Outcomes and Student Learning Motivation in the Pre-Cycle of Exponent Properties Material: The Importance of Teachers' Role in Addressing the IssueThe low learning outcomes and student learning motivation in the pre-cycle of exponent properties material are crucial roles for teachers to address. One of the causes of this problem is the conventional teaching method. This study is a solution to this issue, using the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach with a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The research aims to enhance student motivation and learning outcomes in mathematics for the exponent properties material through CRT in a PBL model. The research method is Collaborative Classroom Action Research (PTKK) conducted over two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings and four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study are 30 students from class VIII C of SMP Negeri 6 Salatiga during the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The data collection techniques used in this study include questionnaires and tests. The results show that more than 50% of the students have achieved high learning motivation. The learning outcomes also improved, with a 40% classical learning achievement in the first cycle increasing to 80% in the second cycle. Thus, learning with the CRT approach in a PBL model can enhance student motivation and learning outcomes in mathematics for class VIII C of SMP Negeri 6 Salatiga.

Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang rendah pada materi segitiga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika pada materi segitiga berdasarkan Teori Van Hiele. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen utama adalah peneliti itu sendiri, dibantu instrumen pendukung yang terdiri dari 3 soal tes berupa soal uraian sesuai dengan indikator Van Hiele dan pedoman wawancara yang semi terstruktur.Teknik analisis data menggunakan 4 tahapan yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Waktu penelitian dilakukan pada tanggal 13 November sampai 14 Desember 2019 semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 3 siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga dengan hasil belajar matematika tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan tahap berpikir Van Hiele. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa siswa dengan hasil belajar matematika tinggi mencapai tahap 0 (visualisasi). Siswa dengan hasil belajar matematika sedang mampu mencapai tahap 1 (analisis). Siswa dengan hasil belajar matematika rendah mencapai tahap 0 (visualisasi). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah tahap berpikir Van Hiele pada setiap siswa berbeda-beda berdasarkan kemampaun pemecahan yang dimiliki setiap siswa.

Abstract

Seiring perkembangan zaman dan teknologi, media pembelajaran mengalami perkembangan yang pesat terutama media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi, yaitu smartphone. Namun sangat disayangkan bahwa penggunaan smartphone di Indonesia, didominasi oleh kegiatan komunikasi dan hiburan daripada kegiatan belajar. Masalah yang ditemukan ini, memotivasi sebuah penelitian pengembangan tentang aplikasi Mobile Learning yang dibuat dengan Android Studio sebagai sumber belajar dan sarana mengerjakan soal trigonometri SMA. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengembangkan Mobile Learning yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model ADDIE. Subjek penelitian yakni peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 2 dan 3 Semester 2 Tahun Ajar 2020/2021 SMA Kristen Satya Wacana sejumlah 10 peserta didik. Hasil validasi membuktikan bahwa Mobile Learning yang dikembangkan valid serta praktis. Hasil uji coba membuktikan bahwa aplikasi Mobile Learning dikategorikan layak dipakai dalam pembelajaran. Hasil pretest serta posttest juga menunjukkan bahwa Mobile Learning efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar, kemudian efektif menjadi sarana belajar serta mengerjakan soal matematika. Along with the times and technology, learning media has experienced rapid development, especially technology-based learning media, namely smartphones. However, it is unfortunate that the use of smartphones in Indonesia is dominated by communication and entertainment activities rather than learning activities. This problem found motivates development research on the Mobile Learning application made with Android Studio as a learning resource and a means of working on high school trigonometry problems. The research objective is to develop valid, practical, and effective Mobile Learning. This research is development research using the ADDIE model. The research subjects were 10 students of class XI MIPA 2 and 3 Semester 2 of the 2020/2021 Satya Wacana Christian High School. The validation results prove that the developed Mobile Learning is valid and practical. The trial results prove that the Mobile Learning application is categorized as suitable for use in learning. The results of the pretest and posttest also show that Mobile Learning is effective in improving learning outcomes, as well as being an effective means of learning and working on trigonometry questions.

Abstract

Apabila guru dalam mengajarkan materi dapat berjalan dengan baik kemudian siswa dapat memahami isi materi tersebut maka fungsi pendidikan itu dapat dikatakan tercapai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi Pola Bilangan dengan hasil belajar tinggi, sedang, dan rendah berdasarkan teori APOS. Jenis penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan purposive sampling sebagai teknik dalam pengambilan sampel. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah peneliti itu sendiri sebagai instrumen utama, 2 soal materi Pola Bilangan, dan pedoman wawancara dengan jenis semiterstruktur. Sampel diambil dari siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Salatiga tahun ajaran 2019/2020 semester 2. Terdapat 3 subjek dengan masing-masing dipilih dari 3 kategori hasil belajar yaitu tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Hasil penelitian pada subjek RU (subjek dengan hasil belajar tinggi) dan subjek RA (subjek dengan hasil belajar sedang) pemahaman konsepnya dapat memenuhi tahap aksi, proses, objek, dan skema. Sedangkan hasil penelitian pada subjek DE (subjek dengan hasil belajar rendah) pemahaman konsepnya hanya sampai tahap aksi dan proses. If the teacher in teaching the material can run well then students can understand the content of the material, then the educational function can be said to be achieved. This study aims to analyze the level of understanding of students' concepts on the Number Pattern material with high, medium, and low learning outcomes based on the APOS theory. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with purposive sampling as a sampling technique. The instrument used was the researcher himself the main instrument, 2 questions about the number pattern material, and a semi-structured interview guide. The sample was taken from class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Salatiga academic year 2019/2020 semester 2. There were 3 subjects with each selected from 3 categories of learning outcomes, namely high, medium, and low. The results of research on RU subjects (subjects with high learning outcomes) and RA subjects (subjects with moderate learning outcomes) understanding the concept can meet the stages of action, process, object, and schema. While the results of research on the subject of DE (subjects with low learning outcomes) the understanding of the concept is only up to the stage of action and process.

Abstract

This research includes research and development (R&D) which aims to produce a learning media that can be accessed via a smartphone and contains questions for introductory algebra material aimed at class IX C students at Satya Wacana Christian Junior High School, then test the feasibility, practicality and effectiveness of the learning media that has been developed. Algebra is a subject matter that must be learned at the junior high school level, but students admit that Algebra material is one of the difficult mathematics materials to master. The development model used is the ADDIE development model Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. This research was conducted on February 5, 2024 even semester of the 2023/2024 school year at Satya Wacana Christian Junior High School. Data were collected through media and material validation sheets, student response questionnaires and teacher response questionnaires, as well as pretests and posttests. The results showed that ALGEBOX learning media had been developed in accordance with ADDIE development procedures. The validity test of ALGEBOX learning media according to material experts 89% and media experts 93% showed valid results. The results of the student response questionnaire 86% and teacher response questionnaire 90%, then it is said to be practical. The effectiveness results are evidenced by the increase in the pretest average of 57.81 to 86.86 on the posttest score and reinforced by the results of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) <0.05 so it is said to be effective. It can be concluded that this learning media meets the criteria of validity, practicality and effectiveness.

Abstract

Tidak semua siswa memiliki jalan atau proses berpikir yang sama dalam menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan yang ada. Sehingga guru diwajibkan untuk dapat mengerti bahwa setiap anak memiliki proses berpikir yang berbeda. Dengan penelitian ini, peneliti berupaya untuk mendeskripsikan proses asimilasi dan akomodasi yang terjadi pada siswa lewat materi permutasi dan kombinasi berdasarkan dari tahap Polya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode dokumentasi, tes, dan wawancara. Wawancara dilakukan melalui aplikasi video call dikarenakan keadaan yang tidak memungkinkan untuk bertemu tatap muka. Sebelum wawancara dilakukan, subjek diberikan tes tertulis yang kemudian hasilnya dikirim melalui aplikasi line. Peneliti menggunakan teknik purposive sampling untuk menentukan subjek. Kemudian untuk menguji keabsahan data, peneliti menggunakan uji triangulasi teknik. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah setiap siswa melakukan proses berpikir yang berbeda-beda, bahkan bisa berbeda pada setiap tahapan Polya.

Abstract

Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika mahasiswa calon guru matematika dengan tipe kecerdasan linguistik dan logis-matematis pada materi peluang berdasarkan teori Polya. Terdapat 4 tahapan pemecahan masalah menurut Polya: memahami masalah, merencanakan pemecahan, melaksanakan rencana, memeriksa kembali. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa calon guru matematika Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) Salatiga yang memiliki kecerdasan linguistik dan logis-matematis. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada Agustus-September 2022 di UKSW Salatiga, adapun instrumen pendukung yang digunakan yaitu angket kecerdasan majemuk, tes tertulis dan wawancara. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu subjek dengan kecerdasan linguistik dan logis-matematis hanya memenuhi 2 tahapan Polya, yaitu tahapan memahami masalah dan tahapan memeriksa kembali.
