Abstract

Palm oil frond sap (NPS), rich in fermentable sugars and essential minerals, is a renewable substrate for the production of biocompatible biomaterials. This study aims to review the utilization of  of OPFJ as a culture medium for BC biosynthesis, its functionalization with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), and the potential of the resulting composite’ for wound dressing applications. The method used was a literature review by collecting the latest and most recent journals, recording and analyzing the results of the utilization of OPFJ with AgNPs. The results showed   that OPFJ-based BC exhibits nanofibrillar morphology, high crystallinity, and good mechanical stability. The incorporation of AgNPs enhances antimicrobial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, providing a dual-functional dressing material. Nonetheless, limitations persist in silver release control, cytotoxicity management, and large-scale production. Future studies should focus on pretreatment optimization of OPFJ, green synthesis of AgNPs, and in vivo evaluations to ensure clinical viability.

Abstract

Human resource (HR) development is a strategic factor in improving organizational performance and sustainability. This paper aims to examine the concepts and practices of HR development, including career development, talent management, succession planning, training and development, talent mapping using the 9-Box Matrix, workforce diversity, and affirmative action. The method used in writing this paper is a qualitative approach through a literature review, reviewing various books, scientific journals, and relevant sources. The results of the study indicate that planned career development, systematic talent management, and sound succession planning play a crucial role in ensuring the availability of competent and sustainable HR. Training and development programs tailored to organizational needs can improve employee competence and productivity. Furthermore, the implementation of talent mapping using the 9-Box Matrix helps organizations objectively identify high-potential employees, while the application of diversity principles and affirmative action encourages the creation of an inclusive and equitable work environment. Thus, integrated HR development is key to increasing organizational competitiveness and sustainability.

Abstract

Human resource management plays a strategic role in supporting the achievement of organizational goals through integrated and sustainable workforce management. This study aims to analyze the relationship between recruitment, job analysis, performance appraisal, and employee compensation as an integrated system in human resource management. The research approach used is a literature study by reviewing various scientific literature, textbooks, and previous research results relevant to the topic of human resource management. The results of the analysis show that an effective recruitment process is highly dependent on the clarity of job analysis, which includes job descriptions and specifications as the basis for appropriate workforce placement. Furthermore, performance appraisal serves as an evaluation tool to measure the achievement of employee work analysis based on standards set in the position. The research findings also reveal that a fair and competitive improvement system is closely related to performance appraisal results, thereby increasing motivation, job satisfaction, and overall employee performance. Thus, the integration of recruitment, job analysis, performance appraisal, and employee compensation is a key factor in creating effective and competitive human resource management. This study is expected to contribute academically and serve as a practical reference for organizations in designing and implementing human resource management policies.

Abstract

The development of the palm oil industry in Indonesia typically relies on collaboration with smallholder farmers, but this collaboration often faces various problems such as poor cultivation techniques, lack of technical guidance, unclear administrative matters, and limited access to certification and markets. This study aims to develop a specific human resource management model to support collaboration with smallholder farmers, thereby improving production yields, sustainability, and engagement in the palm oil supply chain. The method used is a desk study, namely by analyzing and reconstructing information from research results, industry reports, and palm oil certification and sustainability policies. Based on the analysis, a career structure and Human Resource Management functions are proposed, consisting of collaboration supervisors, field officers, capacity training officers, collaboration administration staff, and collaboration/certification managers. This model allows for technical and administrative assistance, training for farmers, collaboration coordination, and certification and compliance management. The implementation of this model is predicted to improve cultivation quality, improve smallholder access to certification and markets, and strengthen the stability and sustainability of the supply chain. Thus, the HR model for smallholders offers a strategic solution to the various challenges of working with smallholders and supports the development of a socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable palm oil agribusiness sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of differences between Millennials and Generation Z on the productivity of oil palm harvesters at PTPN IV Kebun Mayang Afdeling III, North Sumatra. The study used an associative quantitative approach with a sample of harvesters categorized by generation. Primary data were obtained through questionnaires and interviews, while secondary data came from the company and related literature. Data analysis used an independent sample t-test after going through the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Levene's homogeneity test. The results showed that Generation Z had a higher average productivity than Millennials, namely 1,108.31 kg/day compared to 1,064.72 kg/day. However, the t-test results showed no significant difference between the two generations (sig. 0.410 > 0.05). This indicates that generational factors are not the main determinant of work productivity. Productivity is more influenced by work experience, skills, motivation, physical condition, and the company's work system. In conclusion, both Millennials and Generation Z contribute relatively equally to oil palm harvesting activities, so workforce management needs to focus on improving factors that support productivity. The implications of this research provide recommendations for companies to improve the effectiveness of cross-generational human resource management through training, work motivation, and sustainable work system improvements in the oil palm plantation sector.
