Abstract

High uric acid levels in the elderly can be a risk indicator for various chronic diseases, including heart disease and kidney disease. The problem is that out of 798 elderly people who visit the Berseri Pangkalan Kerinci Health Center, 148 elderly people suffer from gout.  This study aims to determine the factors associated with uric acid levels in the elderly at the Berseri Pangkalan Kerinci Health Center. Research is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The population was all the elderly who visited Berseri Pangkalan Kerinci as many as 148 people. The sample size of 108 respondents was taken using purposive sampling technique.  The research measuring instrument is a questionnaire. Data analysis with chi square test. The results showed that the majority of IMT respondents were not obese as many as 62 respondents (57.4%), low purine diet 76 respondents (70.4%), no genetic history of gout 59 respondents (54.6%) and normal uric acid levels were 57 respondents (52.8%). There is a relationship between BMI (p = 0.008) and diet (p = 0.007) with uric acid levels in the elderly. There is no genetic factor relationship (p = 0.307) with uric acid levels in the elderly. It is recommended for the elderly to be able to have a healthy diet, do physical activities such as exercise and maintain ideal body weight to avoid various diseases, one of which is gout. Keywords: Uric Acid, BMI, Elderly, Diet

Abstract

The JE virus can be transmitted from animals to humans through a vector in the form of the Culex tritaeniorhynchus mosquito. JE virus infection attacks parts of the brain and can occur because the body does not have JE-specific antibodies. Vaccination has been shown to be an effective method in preventing JE disease and is given to children aged 9 months to 15 years Metode dalam pengabdian ini yaitu dengan memberikan edukasi mengenai vaksinasi JE, dengan melakukan persiapan dan pelaksanaan yang telah disetujui oleh mitra. The successful Community Service Program can be seen from the results of the level of community knowledge. The suggestion in the next service is that it can be continued with JE immunization monitoring which can be seen from the maternal and child health book, so that it can be seen whether the coverage of JE vaccination has increased from the vaccine target of the Tambelan Sampit health center.

Abstract

The aging process is a natural process accompanied by a decline in physical, psychological, and social conditions that interact with each other. This condition tends to pose health problems for the elderly. The increasing tendency of pathological conditions in the elderly leads to increased medication consumption, thereby enlarging the risk of drugs related problems (DRPs), including side effects, drug interactions, or toxic reactions. The problems found are inappropriate drug use and a lack of understanding of how to use, store, and dispose of medicines correctly. Additionally, other issues include the inappropriate use of antibiotics among the elderly, caused by a lack of understanding and incorrect behavior in medication use. The purpose of this service is to socialize with the elderly about self-medication. The method used is counseling directed at the elderly. The results obtained from this service show that the elderly became more careful in self-medication.

Abstract

Parents of children with Down syndrome face ongoing challenges in accessing relevant and trustworthy health information. With the increasing use of digital platforms, understanding parents’ needs and preferences is crucial for developing effective and inclusive digital health services. This study aims to map the digital health information needs of parents of children with Down syndrome, identify preferred information sources and digital platforms, and explore expectations regarding features of digital health applications. Methods use A descriptive quantitative study was conducted using a structured questionnaire distributed to parents of children with Down syndrome in Indonesia. Data were analyzed to assess patterns of digital information usage, platform preferences, and specific content and feature expectations. The results findings indicate that 83.6% of parents frequently seek digital health information, with WhatsApp groups (81.8%) and community networks like POTADS (80.0%) being the most accessed sources. Parents expressed a strong preference for digital tools that are free, user-friendly, and available in the local language. The most desired features in a health application include home-based therapy guidance (94.5%), educational videos (87.3%), parent forums (72.7%), and online consultation with healthcare professionals (67.3%). There is a high demand among parents for digital health platforms that offer accessible, relevant, and interactive content tailored to the needs of children with Down syndrome. Designing effective digital services requires collaboration across sectors and the integration of digital health literacy initiatives into existing family support systems to ensure equitable access and improved care outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract The quality of health services is one of the indicators to assess the success and satisfaction of patients related to the service system while determining the loyalty and image of health institutions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of the assurance dimension in the quality of health services on the satisfaction of inpatients and outpatients in hospitals. This study is a meta-analysis and systematic review study using the PRISMA diagram. Article searches used databases from Google Scholar published in 2015-2025. Article search keywords include "Service Quality" AND "Assurance" OR "Guarantee" AND "Patient Satisfaction" AND "Inpatient" AND "Outpatient" AND "Cross Sectional". Articles were analyzed using the PRISMA diagram and the Review Mager 5.4 application. The meta-analysis consisted of 14 cross-sectional articles, namely 6 articles on inpatients and 8 articles on outpatients. Good assurance/guarantee increases inpatient satisfaction by 3.96 times compared to service quality with poor assurance/guarantee (aOR= 3.96; 95% CI = 2.02 to 7.73; p = 0.02) and the results are statistically significant. Good assurance/guarantee increases outpatient satisfaction by 3.96 times compared to service quality with poor assurance/guarantee (aOR= 5.18; 95% CI = 2.50 to 10.70; p = 0.005) and the results are statistically significant Keywords: meta-analysis, assurance, patient satisfaction, hospital
