Abstract

Abstract

Focus of population administration services by the Surabaya City Population and Civil Registration Office changed from traditional to electronic through the Klampid New Generation application. This study primarily aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Kalimasada program, which is facilitated through the Klampid New Generation application in Surabaya City. The research approach utilized is descriptive and qualitative in nature, utilizing primary data obtained through in-depth interviews and observations. Additionally, secondary data from relevant government websites and other resources related to the research theme are incorporated. Valuable insights are further derived from extensive interviews conducted with key stakeholders. The study's findings reveal that a considerable portion of the population lacks familiarity with the operational aspects of the Klampid New Generation Application. As a result, there is a notable requirement for increased efforts by the government to raise awareness through extensive public campaigns. However, in terms of implementation, the Kalimasada program emerges as a highly effective tool, contributing significantly to the promotion of civic awareness regarding the organized management of population administration within Surabaya's dynamic urban environment.

Abstract

Higher education institutions (HEIs) are establishments that offer education, instruction, research, and services across fields of science and technology. Autonomy, in management, categorizes state universities (PTNs) based on their structure. State universities with status (PTN-BH) hold the position in resource management within the campus hierarchy of state universities. This study adopts an approach incorporating a literature review methodology and analysis through Michel Foucault's theory on the interplay between power and knowledge. This study aims to understand how power shapes the identity and norms of universities and to analyze the dynamics of HEIs in the context of economic priorities and their implications for democracy. The findings indicate that power influences the regulation of knowledge creation presenting both challenges and opportunities for PTN-BH. Michel Foucault's theory underscores how power shapes university identities and norms. The evolution of PTN-BH signifies a transition towards prioritizing concerns, over welfare, impacting democratic ideals. Keywords – Knowledge, Michel Foucault, Power, PTN-BH

Abstract

This study aims to examine the potential of urban farming as a catalyst for diverse food security in densely populated areas, with a specific focus on Sukun Village, Malang City. The research seeks to identify how urban agriculture not only increases local food availability but also functions as an instrument for community empowerment through commercialization schemes. Sukun Village was selected due to its demographic density and existing urban farming initiatives, which provide a relevant context for studying these dynamics. Using a qualitative approach grounded in case study methodology, this study collected data through in-depth interviews with 15 key stakeholders, participatory observations at local farming sites, and analysis of policy documents and activity records related to urban farming at Rumah Alam Jaya. This approach ensures a comprehensive understanding of urban farming activities and their socio-economic impacts. The findings indicate that urban farming contributes to micro-food security by providing a consistent supply of fresh produce while fostering social solidarity and increasing household incomes. Specific examples include cooperative farming models and revenue streams from agrotourism activities. Furthermore, this study highlights the integration of urban farming with educational tourism as a strategic innovation to enhance the economic sustainability and attractiveness of urban agriculture. Practically, the results offer actionable insights for policymakers and practitioners aiming to support diverse and sustainable local food security through urban agricultural innovation. By strategically combining empowerment schemes with educational tourism, urban farming can be a viable solution to address food security challenges in urban areas. This research strengthens the literature on micro-food security and provides a replicable framework for integrating urban farming into community empowerment initiatives.

Abstract

Using recycled garbage craft activities, this study investigates how a Children's Forum in Pandanlandung Village affects the social development and environmental consciousness of children aged 4 to 17. Using direct observation, participant and facilitator interviews, and recording of produced works, data were gathered using a descriptive and qualitative approach. Children's social skills—including cooperation, communication, and empathy—which result from their involvement in practical recycling projects show significant increases. Apart from teaching youngsters on proper trash management and the need of environmental preservation, the activities promoted social connection, particularly after the COVID-19 outbreak. Children who turned trash into art developed agency, self-esteem, and responsibility toward their environment and society. This project shows how creatively minded educational programs could improve children's complete development and foster a sustainable culture. These results emphasize the need of similar programs in different settings and their ability to empower teenagers as active agents of change in building better, environmentally conscious communities.
