Abstract

Higher education institutions (HEIs) are establishments that offer education, instruction, research, and services across fields of science and technology. Autonomy, in management, categorizes state universities (PTNs) based on their structure. State universities with status (PTN-BH) hold the position in resource management within the campus hierarchy of state universities. This study adopts an approach incorporating a literature review methodology and analysis through Michel Foucault's theory on the interplay between power and knowledge. This study aims to understand how power shapes the identity and norms of universities and to analyze the dynamics of HEIs in the context of economic priorities and their implications for democracy. The findings indicate that power influences the regulation of knowledge creation presenting both challenges and opportunities for PTN-BH. Michel Foucault's theory underscores how power shapes university identities and norms. The evolution of PTN-BH signifies a transition towards prioritizing concerns, over welfare, impacting democratic ideals. Keywords – Knowledge, Michel Foucault, Power, PTN-BH

Abstract

This study aims to examine the transformation of Social Sciences (IPS) learning in Indonesia, from the citizenship transmission approach to contextual learning in the 21st century. Using the literature study method, this study analyzed various sources such as books, journals, and articles related to the development of social studies education. The results of the study show that social studies in Indonesia has evolved from simply delivering civic values to more integrative and skill-based learning in the 21st century, such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. This change was influenced by the dynamics of the national curriculum, starting from the 1975 and 1984 Curriculum to the Merdeka Curriculum. The implementation of social studies learning now emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, character development, and the use of innovative methods such as Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Inquiry-Based Learning. However, challenges are still found, including limited teacher competence, limited resources, and resistance to changes in learning methods. Therefore, it is necessary to increase teacher professionalism and strengthen innovation in learning to realize the goals of social studies education that is adaptive to the needs of the times. This study affirms the importance of social studies in shaping a generation that is critical, ethical, and ready to become agents of change in the midst of global complexity.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the AIR (Auditory, Intellectually Repetition) learning model in enhancing students' cognitive, psychomotor, and affective learning outcomes. The research employs an experimental approach using a pre-test and post-test design on selected student groups. Test results analyzed through the SPSS application indicate a significant improvement in learning outcomes before and after implementing the AIR model, with a significance value below 0.05. These findings suggest that the AIR model effectively enhances student learning. Additionally, an improvement in the psychomotor aspect was observed, as students demonstrated greater engagement when using the AIR model compared to traditional methods. Similarly, the affective aspect showed progress, as students exhibited responsibility in group settings by actively responding to teachers' questions. This reinforces the effectiveness of the AIR model in improving learning outcomes across cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains. However, students with a kinesthetic learning style may not fully benefit from this approach, necessitating adjustments to accommodate their needs. This research is expected to contribute to the development of learning strategies that align with educational objectives across different levels
