Abstract

Inventory control is one of the most important factors in achieving optimal organizational performance. Material Requirement Planning (MRP) is a common method used by businesses to manage inventories. This study focuses on a hydraulic firm that has been in operation since 2016. This research examines the planning of eleven components to get the best planning for the company. This study contributes to the integration of Moving Average (MA) and Exponential Smoothing (ES) forecasting techniques alongside the MRP and three lot sizing techniques, such as LFL, EOQ, and LUC. The minimum error values between MA and ES are evaluated and followed by the comparison between three lot sizing techniques. The result shows that ES (α=0.1) is selected as the best forecasting technique, and LUC presents the lowest total inventory cost. However, LUC is only 0.05 percent lower than what LFL presents. A larger difference is shown by EOQ with 14.57 percent higher than LUC which makes EOQ unlikely to be selected.

Abstract

Inventory management is a systematic approach to sourcing, storing, and selling inventory both raw materials (components) and finished goods (products). In business terms, inventory management means the right stock, at the right levels, in the right place, at the right time, and at the right cost as well as price. Inventory management refers to the process of ordering, storing and using a company's inventory. This includes the management of raw materials, components and finished products, as well as warehousing and processing such items. For companies with complex supply chains and manufacturing processes, balancing the risks of inventory gluts and shortages is especially difficult. At the same time, inventory can be thought of as a liability (if not in an accounting sense). A large inventory carries the risk of spoilage, theft, damage or shifts in demand. Inventory must be insured, and if it is not sold in time it may have to be disposed of at clearance prices or simply destroyed. For these reasons, inventory management is important for businesses of any size. Knowing when to restock inventory, what amounts to purchase or produce, what price to pay as well as when to sell and at what pric can easily become complex decisions. Small businesses will often keep track of stock manually and determine the reorder points and quantities using Excel formulas. Larger businesses will use specialized enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.

Abstract

After the Covid-19 pandemic passed, digital transformation occurred, namely the use of technology in various activities of human life, including at work. Regardless of age, position, or educational background, we all have to learn so as not to be left behind. Cleaning service (CS) work has been seen as easy and does not require technology, except for WhatsApp Messenger or Group communication tools. The ship engine distributor company has office and warehouse areas that require CS services to maintain cleanliness. So far, coordination of work or the presence of CS personnel has been carried out through face-to-face briefings and WhatsApp. However, after restrictions on meeting (physical distancing), PSBB, etc., it seems that the use of WhatsApp is considered insufficient to accommodate work needs in the field for CS. This research aims to design a Cleaning service application to handle difficulties in the field for managing work and reports. The system development method used is the Waterfall Model method. The results of this research aim to provide convenience for CS coordinators and companies in managing CS performance, making reports, and improving the quality of cleaning services in the field.ABSTRAKSetelah masa pandemi Covid-19 berlalu, terjadi transformasi digital yaitu penggunaan teknologi pada berbagai aktivitas kehidupan manusia, termasuk dalam bekerja.

Abstract

The implementation of the Japanese 5S methodology in a small motorcycle workshop in Bogor, Indonesia, has demonstrated significant improvements in workplace organization, operational efficiency, and safety. As Indonesia continues to lead motorcycle sales in the ASEAN region, the need for well-structured and efficient workshops becomes increasingly critical. However, many small businesses still struggle with inadequate organization and risk management. By applying the 5S principles—Sort (Sisih), Set in Order (Susun), Shine (Sapu), Standardize (Standar), and Sustain (Sinambung)—the workshop experienced reduced disorder, improved workflow, enhanced cleanliness, and well-defined procedures. These changes positively impacted productivity, workplace safety, and customer perception. Initial resistance to change was mitigated through comprehensive training and staff engagement, ensuring long-term adoption. This initiative aligns with Sampoerna University’s commitment to community development and serves as a scalable model for small businesses. With adequate government and NGO support, the 5S framework can enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and working conditions in Indonesia’s expanding motorcycle industry.

Abstract

In the context of rapid urbanization and growing e-commerce activity, optimizing warehouse location is a crucial factor in ensuring efficient logistics performance and maintaining service-level agreements (SLAs). This study addresses the operational challenges faced by a digital commerce platform in Indonesia, particularly its overburdened warehouse in Ciracas, East Jakarta. The company currently serves over 300 daily transactions from a limited 211 m² facility, leading to delayed deliveries and suboptimal coverage across 50 sub-districts in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek). To determine a more strategic location, this research applies a weighted Center of Gravity (CoG) method incorporating two key indicators: permanent urban population and per capita disposable monthly income. These socio-economic variables are normalized and used to compute the optimal warehouse coordinates. The resulting CoG, which is located near Halim Perdanakusuma in East Jakarta, offers balanced proximity to all target areas and improved accessibility via major transportation routes, including toll roads and the Halim airport. While the exact coordinate falls within a residential zone, the surrounding area presents viable alternatives for warehouse development. Relocating to this vicinity is expected to reduce delivery lead times, enhance SLA compliance, and support expanded inventory management. This study demonstrates the value of spatial analytics and composite weighting in facility location decisions and offers a replicable framework for logistics optimization in dense urban regions.

Abstract

The recipe and grocery shopping application is designed to increase the ease of users in accessing cooking recipes and shopping for groceries in an integrated manner. This research aims to analyze the business processes involved in the application using the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) approach. Analysis is carried out to understand the workflow structure, identify potential efficiencies, and produce performance improvements before and after system implementation. The research results show that the application of this application is able to direct processes that were previously manual and fragmented, such as searching for recipes, making shopping lists, and ordering groceries. The BPMN model is used to visualize changes in business process flow, enabling comprehensive evaluation of aspects of time efficiency, error reduction, and increased user satisfaction. This research concludes that the BPMN approach is effective in analyzing and optimizing business processes in recipe and grocery shopping applications. These findings contribute to the development of similar applications, especially in designing systems that are more efficient and responsive to user needs.
