Abstract

This community service program with the Sari Mina Segara Group in Sangsit Village aimed to improve the competitiveness of Sudang Lepet and other fish-based products facing issues of short shelf life, simple packaging, and also limited marketing. The program introduced vacuum packaging, standardized labeling, and digital marketing strategies. Implementation involved training, mentoring, and equipment assistance. The results showed vacuum packaging extended shelf life, enhanced product safety, and reduced contamination risks. Informative labeling combined with Balinese cultural elements strengthened brand identity and consumer appeal. Digital marketing aspect has expanded product reach beyond local markets, improving sales, and visibility. Initial resistance to make a new technology was overcome through step-by-step guidance, leading to full participation and independent management of packaging and promotion. Overall, the program helps to strengthened product quality, broadened market access, and supported business sustainability in line with SDGs 8 and 12. Replication for other fisheries-based MSMEs is recommended to enhance competitiveness and eco-friendly packaging innovation.

Abstract

The development of digital financial technology is driving significant changes in the consumption behavior of Generation Z, especially in the city of Denpasar, which is the center of digital-based economic activity in Bali. This study aims to analyze the influence of Financial Literacy and Digital Lifestyle (Cashless Society) on Consumptive Financial Behavior with Impulse Buying as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach and Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis, the study involved 250 Gen Z respondents who actively use digital services such as e-wallets, QRIS, and paylater. The results of the study show that financial literacy has a significant negative effect on consumptive behavior, which means that the higher the financial literacy, the lower the tendency to overconsumption. On the contrary, digital lifestyles have a significant positive effect on consumptive behavior, confirming that the ease of digital transactions increases the tendency to spontaneous consumption. The findings also reveal that impulse buying partially mediates the relationship between digital lifestyle and consumptive behavior, as well as mediates the full influence of financial literacy on consumptive behavior. Thus, impulsive impulses are an important psychological mechanism that explains how the digital environment shapes the financial behavior of Gen Z. This research makes a theoretical contribution to the literature on digital consumer behavior and offers practical implications for financial literacy education and digital transaction management policies for the younger generation

Abstract

Indonesia, as a maritime nation, has significant potential in the fisheries sector, with catfish being one of the main freshwater aquaculture commodities. In Bali, the Mina Asri Catfish Farming Group contributes to local fishery production, yet faces challenges in production costs, limited marketing strategies, and manual financial management. This study aims to empower the group through innovation and community service activities that enhance production efficiency, market competitiveness, and financial literacy. The program was implemented through stages of socialization, training, technology application, and mentoring. Training focused on the use of alternative pellet feed, digital marketing through social media, and digital financial recording using simple applications. Results showed that providing pellet feed assistance reduced production costs by at least 10% per cultivation cycle, thereby improving profit margins and financial allocation for other development needs. Digital marketing training increased members’ skills in content creation and online promotion, enabling expansion of product distribution, particularly for processed catfish, beyond local markets. Meanwhile, financial literacy training facilitated the adoption of digital records, improving transparency and supporting more accurate evaluation of profitability. Pre- and post-test assessments demonstrated a 70% improvement in participants’ knowledge and skills, confirming the effectiveness of the program. In conclusion, the empowerment program significantly improved group capacity in production, marketing, and financial management. Active community participation played a crucial role in ensuring sustainability, with the program contributing to business independence, enhanced income, and regional food security, while also strengthening the community-based economy.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted under the Community-Based Empowerment (PBM) scheme, focusing on assisting creative visual art MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) of ARTPM BALI located in Bona Village, Blahbatuh Subdistrict, Gianyar Regency. These enterprises face several fundamental challenges, particularly in production management, marketing, and financial management. The program’s activities included providing production equipment (such as sewing machines, grinders, drill bits, and other supporting tools), training on the use of digital marketing technology through social media and e-commerce platforms, production management training, and the introduction of simple financial recording applications to support better cash flow management. The implementation of the program has shown positive outcomes. In the production sector, partners have improved work efficiency and product quality through the use of new equipment. In marketing, partners have become more active in promoting their products via social media and are exploring marketplace platforms as distribution channels. In financial management, partners have started to record daily transactions using digital applications, resulting in better cash flow control. Overall, this ongoing community service initiative has successfully enhanced the partners’ capacity to manage their businesses in a more modern and professional manner. Active participation of the partners in every stage of the program has been a key factor in its success. However, further stages are still required, particularly in providing continuous mentoring, strengthening branding, and conducting implementation monitoring to ensure long-term and sustainable impacts.
