Abstract

Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) adalah teknologi yang mampu menghasilkan konten baru berdasarkan data yang telah dipelajari. Dalam konteks pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi, teknologi ini memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan efektivitas, kreativitas, dan personalisasi proses belajar. kegiatan ini membahas cara mengintegrasikan Generative AI ke dalam sistem pendidikan perguruan tinggi dengan panduan dari Direktorat Pembelajaran dan Kemahasiswaan di lingkungan LEMKOMINDO. Artikel ini mencakup analisis manfaat, tantangan, dan strategi implementasi yang sesuai dengan kebijakan nasional dan kebutuhan institusi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan secara daring dengan peserta dosen dan mahasiswa. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah Dosen dan mahasiswa dapat memahami etika dan aturan pemanfaatan AI dalam aktivitas institusi. Generative AI memiliki potensi besar untuk merevolusi pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi. Namun, keberhasilannya sangat bergantung pada kebijakan yang matang, pelatihan yang memadai, dan infrastruktur yang mendukung. Direktorat Pembelajaran dan Kemahasiswaan di lingkungan LEMKOMINDO diharapkan dapat menjadi motor penggerak dalam memastikan teknologi ini diadopsi secara efektif dan bertanggung jawab.

Abstract

Peningkatan kualitas pakan ternak ruminansia menjadi salah satu faktor penting dalam mendukung produktivitas susu kambing perah, yang secara tidak langsung berkontribusi dalam dunia kesehatan sebagai upaya pencegahan stunting melalui pemenuhan gizi keluarga. Namun, mitra peternak di Desa Pasar Baru, Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai masih menghadapi kendala dalam proses pencampuran pakan secara manual yang memakan waktu lama dan menghasilkan pakan yang tidak homogen. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi melalui penerapan teknologi tepat guna berupa mesin pencampur pakan serta pelatihan manajemen usaha. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pendidikan, pelatihan, dan praktik langsung. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa mitra mengalami peningkatan efisiensi kerja, dengan waktu pencampuran pakan yang berkurang signifikan, serta peningkatan homogenitas pakan yang berdampak positif terhadap kualitas dan kuantitas susu kambing. Selain itu, pelatihan pengemasan dan pemasaran turut mendukung penguatan aspek kewirausahaan mitra. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak nyata dan berkelanjutan dalam peningkatan produktivitas ternak serta ekonomi rumah tangga peternak.

Abstract

This study investigates the adsorption efficiency of Metanil Yellow using activated carbon derived from areca nut husk (Areca catechu L.), which was chemically activated with KOH and modified with CTAB surfactant. The adsorbent was characterized using FTIR and UV-Vis spectroscopy to identify functional groups and determine optimum adsorption parameters. FTIR analysis confirmed the presence of functional groups such as –CH₂, –C–N, and –N⁺(CH₃)₃, indicating successful surface modification. UV-Vis analysis showed that the maximum adsorption occurred at a wavelength of 494 nm. The optimum conditions were achieved at an adsorbent mass of 1.5 g, dye concentration of 15 ppm, and contact time of 60 minutes, with adsorption efficiency reaching over 97%. These findings suggest that CTAB-modified areca nut husk activated carbon has strong potential as an effective and low-cost adsorbent for removing dyes from wastewater.

Abstract

Environmental pollution caused by textile industry wastewater containing synthetic dyes such as Metanil Yellow has become a serious concern due to its carcinogenic nature. This study aims to determine the adsorption capacity of activated carbon derived from sugarcane bagasse waste (Saccharum officinarum L.), which was activated using Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) and modified with the cationic surfactant Cetyl Trimethyl Ammonium Bromide (CTAB). The activated carbon was produced through carbonization at 500 °C for 2 minutes, followed by chemical activation using 5N KOH and surface modification with CTAB. FTIR characterization showed spectral changes with the appearance of new functional groups such as –CH₂ vibrations (2961 and 2849 cm⁻¹), –C–N (1020 cm⁻¹), and quaternary ammonium –N⁺(CH₃)₃ (1470 cm⁻¹), indicating successful interaction of CTAB molecules on the carbon surface. The adsorption results showed that optimum conditions were achieved at an adsorbent mass of 1.5 grams, Metanil Yellow concentration of 25 ppm, and a contact time of 30 minutes, with an adsorption efficiency of 94%.

Abstract

Clean water is a fundamental necessity; however, many regions still struggle to access it due to contamination by suspended particles, organic matter, and harmful microorganisms. This activity aims to strengthen the practical competence of Biology Education students at Universitas Negeri Medan through training in making simple water filters. The training was conducted through demonstrations and simulations using turbid water from the Tembung River as a sample. The filter was constructed from readily available materials such as used plastic bottles, cotton, tissue, sand, small gravel, and palm fiber arranged in layers. The results showed that the filter effectively reduced water turbidity and enhanced students’ skills in clean water treatment technology. The training also encouraged students to develop 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration, while preparing them as future educators capable of raising community awareness about the importance of maintaining water quality. Therefore, this training has the potential to be developed as an applicative environmental education model that contributes positively to clean water provision.

Abstract

This study examined the effect of the Discovery Learning model assisted by Kahoot media on students' activities and learning outcomes on the topic of atomic structure. This study involved students of class X IPA SMA IT Jabal Noor Medan, with purposive sampling selecting class X PSP B as the experimental class (Discovery Learning with Kahoot) and class X PSP A as the control class (conventional learning). The test and non-test instruments used were valid, and the data met the assumptions of normality and homogeneity. The results showed that the experimental class achieved a higher average activity score (87.6) than the control class (76), with a significant difference (t count = 6.305 > t table = 2.023). The N-Gain score of the experimental class (0.83) also exceeded the N-Gain score of the control class (0.75). These findings indicate that the Discovery Learning model assisted by Kahoot is effective in increasing students' activities and learning outcomes in studying atomic structure.
