Abstract

This article describes three key issues in the global geopolitical context: the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, Indonesia's role as president of the G20 Summit, and the challenges faced in addressing both. The conflict between Ukraine and Russia has been a source of international tension since 2014, with far-reaching consequences for regional and global stability. Meanwhile, Indonesia, as president of the G20 Summit, is faced with the important task of facilitating dialogue between member states in addressing global economic issues, including the prolonged impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Using content analysis research methods and in-depth interviews with the Ukrainian Ambassador and the Russian Ambassador, this research addresses the key challenge for Indonesia of playing an effective mediation role in the Ukraine-Russia conflict while promoting economic cooperation and global justice. The solution to this challenge requires active cooperation between G20 member states and a focus on inclusive economic recovery and sustainable peace.

Abstract

This article examines the political dynamics taking place during the presidential election of Indonesia in 2024, with a focus on the transition to a new government and the potential emergence of political dynasties. It analyzes the political changes that occurred during the campaign, election, and post-election, and how these changes affected political stability and the country's policy direction. Changes in public opinion, political communication tactics used by candidates and political parties, difficulties encountered during the transition to a new government, and the potential emergence of political dynasties—a phenomenon in which political power is concentrated in the hands of families or power circles—are all included in the analysis. The research method used is qualitative research with a literature study design. The data collection technique uses secondary data from reference sources such as legal products, research articles, and journals collected from Google Scholar, Portal Garuda, and news portals such as BBC Indonesia, BBC News, Kompas.com, and Bawaslu. The literature study technique uses a traditional review. This article seeks to offer a clearer understanding of the political processes influencing the 2024 presidential election result and its consequences for Indonesia's political future by exploring these dynamics.

Abstract

The House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) plays a vital role and significant contribution in the areas of legislation, budgeting, and oversight. This institution is known as the "house of the people" as it serves as a place for representatives to channel the aspirations of the public. However, various recent data indicates that the image of this representative institution tends to be negative. DPR RI often receives unfavorable media coverage, ranging from performance issues to problems such as members' absence from sessions. There is a significant challenge for this institution to convince the public to have a high and dominant perception of it in a positive light. The Parliament News Bureau holds the role of public relations, being at the forefront of providing information and disseminating positive news about DPR RI's performance. This research focuses on the strategies employed by the Parliament News Bureau in handling negative news about the DPR RI in the mass media. The study is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis. Data is gathered from in-depth interviews with the Head of the Parliament News Bureau, documents, and literature studies. The results of this research show that the Parliament News Bureau focuses on generating positive news and disseminating it through various mass media channels and digital platforms such as television, radio, and social media. Additionally, the Parliament News Bureau continuously monitors the mass media to stay updated on news related to the institution and its members.

Abstract

This paper intends to see how the development of technology is increasing rapidly until it has penetrated into the world of education, where learning can now be done through games. In the past, games were only known as play tools, solely for entertainment and had no educational elements. But now, games are often used by young children as a learning method and this has been implemented in various schools, especially international schools. In this study, the focus that will be translated is how artificial intelligence through games can increase intelligence and stimulate children in terms of learning. By using qualitative methods with case study studies, it is hoped that this study can add insight to all of us as academics so that we are more open to thoughts and literate about technology which is currently very sophisticated.

Abstract

This study analyzes the formation of the Red and White Cabinet under President Prabowo Subianto through the lens of the Narrative Policy Framework (NPF). It examines whether the cabinet expansion was driven by technocratic considerations or political representation. This research provides insights into Indonesia’s governance structure and policymaking dynamics by exploring the narratives shaping ministerial appointments. This study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing the NPF to analyze policy narratives that influenced the expansion of ministries. Data collection involves document analysis of relevant laws, regulations, academic literature, and credible media reports. This approach systematically examines how political narratives shape institutional decisions and governance strategies. The findings reveal that the expansion of the Red and White Cabinet was primarily influenced by political coalition-building rather than administrative efficiency. Key narratives, such as governance effectiveness, political stability, and national unity, were strategically constructed to justify the increased number of ministries. While some appointments reflect technocratic expertise, many were dictated by political negotiations, highlighting the predominance of partisan interests over governance optimization. This study concludes that policy narratives legitimize political decisions, often surpassing technocratic considerations. The findings contribute to the understanding of political decision-making in Indonesia by demonstrating how institutional constraints, elite bargaining, and strategic policy narratives shape governance structures.

Abstract

This paper delves into Finland's potential accession to NATO, marking a significant departure from its longstanding policy of military non-alignment. As geopolitical dynamics in the Baltic region undergo profound changes, Finland's consideration of NATO membership carries far-reaching implications for regional security and global geopolitics. Finland responded to Russian aggressiveness by joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to counteract Russia’s security threats in the region. The abstract explores the historical context of Finland's neutrality, the evolving security landscape, and the factors driving the nation towards reevaluating its defense posture. Using the research method of critical content analysis and in-depth interview with military and defense and security analyst Rahakundini, the potential impact on NATO, Russia's response, and the broader implications for the delicate balance of power in Northern Europe. The proposed NATO membership signals a strategic recalibration for Finland, with ramifications extending beyond national borders, shaping the geopolitical narrative in an ever-evolving international arena.

Abstract

Stunting prevalence in Indonesia has exhibited a relatively consistent trend, with rates of 36.8% in 2007, 35.6% in 2010, and a slight increase to 37.2% in 2013, though showing a decline to 30.8% in 2018. Despite this decrease, Indonesia's stunting rates remain higher than the global prevalence of 22.2%, indicating a significant public health concern. Stunting poses long-term health risks, and early prevention is crucial. This article review aims to identify factors contributing to child stunting in Indonesia, utilizing the WHO's conceptual framework. Employing various study designs and extensive literature search, the review identified 15 relevant articles, highlighting factors like exclusive breastfeeding, household economic status, maternal education, and environmental conditions as key determinants of child stunting.
