Abstract

Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) in Palembang organizes various higher education programs, from diplomas to PhDs. In this study, we perform data analysis using linear regression methods and predictive modeling techniques. In this connection, a survey was conducted among UIGM Computer Science Engineering course students to collect the necessary data. Data generated from surveys is used to predict future student choices when choosing a course of study. According to the forecast results, 12 students choose Intelligent Computer and Vision (KCV) majors, and 84 students choose Software Engineering (RPL) majors. Due to data limitations, these predictions may not be completely accurate. However, more complete data can help improve prediction accuracy. Therefore, it is important to collect more complete and representative data to improve prediction accuracy. The more complete the data, the more accurate the forecast results, which can provide more precise guidance in decision-making about your area of expertise. This study contributes to the application of linear regression and predictive modeling techniques in higher education and highlights the importance of comprehensive data collection to support better predictive outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract

SME sustainability plays a crucial role in strengthening local and national economies; however, many enterprises face high risks due to limited access to capital, demand volatility, and disparities in operational capacity. This study aims to develop an SME sustainability prediction model using composite index–based pseudo-labeling and ensemble machine learning. Pseudo-labels are constructed from six key indicators revenue, profit, operating costs, average production volume, business scale, and number of employees and categorized into three sustainability classes. The dataset consists of 400 SMEs operating in Palembang City, with Random Forest based feature selection employed to identify the most relevant variables. The evaluated base models include Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, and Gradient Boosting, while ensemble approaches comprise Bagging, Boosting, and Stacking. The results indicate that Logistic Regression achieves perfect accuracy (100%) on the test set, suggesting potential overfitting, whereas the Stacking ensemble provides more stable predictions with an F1-score of 0.918. Statistical validation using the Friedman and Wilcoxon tests confirms the superior performance of ensemble models compared to single learners. The contributions of this study include an objective pseudo-labeling method for unlabeled datasets and the development of a robust predictive model that can support policymakers and SME stakeholders in identifying sustainability risks and implementing evidence-based interventions.

Abstract

The rapid development of the internet has resulted in profound changes that impact people's lives, enabling them to engage in both offline and online shopping. While traditional offline shopping involves physically visiting stores, online shopping offers the convenience of making purchases remotely. In order to explore the advantages and disadvantages of offline and online shopping, a shopping activity was conducted on Friday, October 14, 2022, on Jalan Pelita, where food was purchased both online and offline. The objective was to identify the benefits and drawbacks of each method. The findings of this study reveal that offline and online shopping have their own distinct advantages and disadvantages, allowing individuals to adapt their choices to their specific needs. Online shopping is advantageous when speed and practicality are desired, especially for repeat purchases. On the other hand, offline shopping is preferred by those who value relaxation, enjoy the ambiance of a physical mall, and appreciate the tactile experience of directly interacting with products and food.

Abstract

In today's business world, advances in information technology have been effectively harnessed. E-commerce, facilitated through the internet, has emerged as a means to significantly reduce transaction costs. The internet has become an integral part of our daily lives, making E-commerce a widely adopted practice. It involves the use of communication networks and computers to carry out business processes, enabling internet users with web browsers to buy and sell products. It is important to note that while E-commerce falls under the umbrella of e-business, not all e-business activities are encompassed by E-commerce. E-business has a broader scope, encompassing the use of technology to drive business operations and generate significant impacts on the overall organization. The pandemic has brought about substantial changes, including shifts in work patterns, learning methods, and shopping habits. Government-imposed mobility restrictions and the high number of Covid-19 cases have led to concerns about venturing outside. However, the essential requirements of daily life cannot be disregarded.

Abstract

Fried meatballs, commonly known as basreng, are a popular snack made from thinly sliced and fried processed meatballs. Typically served with a spicy seasoning and garnished with orange leaf slices, basreng has gained popularity, especially among young people. The objective of creating snack products using processed basreng is to introduce new innovations to the community surrounding the UIGM Palembang Campus, transforming viral basreng chips into a more modern food option. The manufacturing process for this basreng product differs from the traditional version. It is thinly shaped like chips instead of the usual stick form and includes a variety of spiciness levels and garnished with orange leaf slices, attracting buyers' interest. The marketing strategy involves utilizing digital marketing, such as online shops, to achieve widespread sales across various areas through social media applications, thereby increasing product demand. Consequently, the production of this innovative basreng can inspire young people to establish new Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) specializing in selling basreng products.
