Abstract

Abstract

The impact of climate change on Asian forests is significant because it can affect temperature, rainfall, forest growth, seasonal patterns, and ecosystem balance. The research method used is a literature study that includes analyzing historical data, current observations, and monitoring climate change trends in the Asian region. The results show that climate change has led to an increase in average temperatures, changes in rainfall patterns, and melting of glaciers and ice in the Asian mountains. These impacts extend to various aspects of life, including ecosystems, agriculture, human well-being, and natural resource availability. Therefore, comprehensive mitigation and adaptation strategies and international cooperation are needed to protect Asia's forest ecosystems and increase people's resilience to the impacts of climate change.

Abstract

Economic growth, urbanization, and infrastructure development are the main drivers of the increase in built-up land area in Ternate Selatan Sub-district. This study aims to investigate and understand the dynamics of land use evolution over a period of one decade. Using satellite image data and image processing techniques, an analysis was conducted to identify significant changes in land cover, particularly in relation to economic growth, urbanization, and infrastructure development. The results showed an increase in the area of built-up land in Ternate SelatanSub-district from 2014 to 2024 along with changes in land use patterns that reflect development pressure. In 2014, the percentage of built-up land area in Ternate SelatanSub-district was 24.69% and continued to increase in 2024 to 31.44% of the total area of Ternate Island. In contrast to other land cover classes that experienced a decrease in area. The results of this study are expected to provide an important contribution for policy makers, environmentalists, and other stakeholders in designing appropriate measures to maintain the balance between economic growth and nature conservation in Ternate SelatanSub-district.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Pattern of Land Cover Change in Sirimau District, Ambon City, Indonesia. The introduction of the research discusses the importance of understanding the dynamic interaction between human activities and land resources in the context of spatially distributed land cover. The research method used was descriptive quantitative with a spatial approach, conducted in Sirimau Sub-district, Ambon City, which experienced high population growth and development of built-up areas. Satellite image data analysis was used to identify patterns of land cover change from 2014 to 2024. The results showed the dominance of agricultural land in 2014, with certain areas converted to residential and built-up land in 2019 and 2024. The findings provide valuable insights in understanding the dynamics of land cover change in Sirimau sub-district and its relevance in sustainable land resource management.

Abstract

Climate change has become a pressing global issue, with vulnerable countries such as the Russian Federation facing significant challenges. This research aims to explore the role of Russian government policies in addressing the impacts of global climate change. The research method used is a literature study that includes data analysis from various reliable sources. The results and discussion highlight that Russia is vulnerable to climate change due to its vast territory and dependence on the fossil fuel industry. Socio-economic impacts such as heat waves, forest fires and permafrost thawing have reinforced the urgency of mitigation and adaptation measures. Recommendations include strengthening climate policies, diversifying energy sources, raising public awareness, international collaboration, and technological innovation. By addressing challenges such as lack of public awareness and limited resources, Russia can play a more proactive role in protecting the environment and creating a sustainable future.

Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the average Land Surface Temperature (LST) of Java Island, Indonesia, for the year 2024, utilizing the reduceRegions function in Google Earth Engine (GEE). Rapid urbanization and environmental changes on Java Island have significant implications for its climate and thermal conditions, necessitating effective monitoring and analysis of LST. The research employs satellite-based remote sensing techniques to assess the relationship between vegetation cover and surface temperatures, revealing that areas with higher vegetation density tend to exhibit lower surface temperatures. This finding aligns with previous studies, underscoring the importance of green spaces in urban environments. The analysis not only contributes to a deeper understanding of Java Island's environmental dynamics but also provides critical insights for policymakers and urban planners. The results can inform strategies for climate adaptation and sustainable development, addressing ongoing environmental challenges. Limitations of the study are acknowledged, and recommendations for future research are proposed, emphasizing the need for continued exploration of LST variations in relation to urbanization and climate change. Overall, this research serves as a valuable resource for enhancing environmental management practices on Java Island and similar regions facing rapid development.

Abstract

This research explores the impact of climate change on increasing land surface temperature (LST) in Indonesia, which has shown a significant upward trend in recent decades. Using a systematic literature review, the research analyzed 50 relevant studies, identifying factors such as deforestation, urbanization, and greenhouse gas emissions as the main causes of increased LST. The research also highlights the serious implications of temperature change on agriculture, public health and water resources, which could lead to food insecurity and increased health risks. In addition, the research emphasizes the importance of understanding public attitudes and beliefs towards climate change to formulate effective policies. With an interdisciplinary approach, the results of this research aim to provide insights for policymakers and stakeholders in developing sustainable mitigation strategies, as well as increasing community resilience to the impacts of climate change in Indonesia.
