Abstract

This study addresses the effect of bilingualism on cognitive development in individuals with dual language abilities. This research explores how dual language skills influence various aspects of cognitive processes, such as problem solving, creativity, flexibility of thinking, and decision making. The research method used involves a literature review of relevant previous studies as well as analysis of empirical data from case studies and field experiments that have been carried out. Results showed that bilingualism has a significant impact on individuals' cognitive development. The ability to switch between two or more languages results in brain exercises that can increase cognitive flexibility and optimize executive functions, such as impulse control and problem solving. Additionally, bilingualism is also associated with higher cognitive abilities in certain domains, such as memory, attention, and information processing. This research contributes to our understanding of the importance of bilingualism in the cognitive development of individuals and its implications in the context of education and cognitive interventions. These findings provide a strong foundation for efforts to encourage the development of dual language skills at the level of individuals and society at large in order to improve cognitive quality and develop overall human potential.

Abstract

This research discusses the influence of bilingualism on children's intelligence levels. The method used in this research is the literature study method. The data collection technique used is looking for sources from various sources such as books, journals, articles, papers and previous research. Bilingualism is a common phenomenon amidst the current flow of globalization. Bilingualism has become a necessity in today's interconnected world for various educational, career or social interaction needs. Language is related to cognitive development. Based on the results of this literature study, it can be concluded that bilingualism is the ability to understand and use two or more languages by a person. Bilingualism has more positive impacts on children's intelligence than negative impacts. Children who study bilingualism have better intelligence than those who only study monolingualism, this is shown by the abilities of bilingual children in abstract thinking, cognitive flexibility, and tolerant abilities as well as strong metalinguistic abilities.

Abstract

This research departs from the hypothesis that there is a positive influence of diglossia on the ability to express opinions in grade 3 elementary school students. This research aims to reveal the use of two language variations, namely high language variety (T) and low language variety (R) and their influence on speaking abilities, especially in expressing opinions to children. This research uses a qualitative method approach to determine the process of optimizing the influence of diglossia on education. Data collection techniques use library research, reading, processing and data techniques. The results obtained show that students who integrate diglossia in Indonesian language learning, especially the ability to express opinions, show greater biliteracy and increased cognitive flexibility than students who receive monolingual education in general. Combining these two varieties of language can also foster a better understanding of cultural tropes and customs. This research advances knowledge about the educational potential of diglossia and opens the door to the creation of pedagogical strategies that maximize its benefits for learning excellence and student development in expressing insightful and culturally competent opinions.

Abstract

Inclusive education in elementary schools requires educators, including Special Needs Assistants (SNAs), to adapt their roles so that students with diverse learning needs receive equitable support. Yet, the expansion of SNA responsibilities often lacks clear professional definitions and institutional reinforcement. This study examines the evolving role of SNAs through a qualitative literature review design. Data were gathered through a systematic search across multiple academic databases using relevant keywords. Identified studies were screened through title and abstract reviews, followed by full-text evaluation to ensure alignment with the research focus. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns in role development and constant comparison to ensure coherence across studies. The findings show that SNA responsibilities have expanded from technical assistance to more complex pedagogical, collaborative, and coordinative functions. However, this evolution remains constrained by limited continuous training, imbalanced student–assistant ratios, restricted resources, and the absence of institutionalized collaboration mechanisms. The study concludes that strengthening professional capacity, enhancing institutional support, and clarifying role expectations are essential to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of inclusive education in elementary schools.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has significantly influenced educational practices, particularly within adaptive learning systems at the secondary level. Although AI has demonstrated substantial potential in personalizing learning processes, its implementation in formal school settings remains constrained by multiple systemic challenges, including educator readiness and infrastructural disparities. This study aims to identify integration patterns of AI in adaptive learning, examine the evolving role of teachers, and explore obstacles and prerequisites for AI adoption in secondary education. Employing a literature review method, this research synthesizes relevant scholarly publications from the past decade and conducts thematic interpretation to uncover current trends in AI utilization. The findings reveal that AI facilitates personalization by adjusting content, pacing, and feedback based on learner profiles, while simultaneously redefining teachers as facilitators of data-driven instruction. Nonetheless, AI adoption continues to be hindered by limited infrastructure, inadequate policy support, and uneven digital competencies among educators. The study concludes that AI integration represents a systemic educational transformation requiring institutional readiness rather than a mere technological add-on. Further empirical research is recommended to validate implementation models across diverse school contexts.

Abstract

This research aims to find effective solutions to the problem of electronic waste (e-waste) in Indonesia in a disruptive era, an era where digital technology is experiencing rapid development and influencing human life patterns. The use of electronic devices in this era has also increased significantly due to the consumerist behavior of people who tend to buy new electronic goods and throw away old ones even though they are still in a usable condition. This creates piles of electronic waste which pose a risk to the environment and health, because electronic waste contains dangerous components. The research method used is a literature review method which involves collecting and analyzing various reference sources such as scientific journals, books, reports and articles. The research results show that the role of the government and society is very important in overcoming the problem of electronic waste in Indonesia, for example using technology wisely so as to maximize the use of electronic goods, selling or even donating old electronic equipment, renting electronic goods if needed for temporary use, and making informed decisions. be wise in purchasing new electronic goods, and recycle electronic waste.

Abstract

The rapid growth of social media platforms, particularly TikTok and Instagram, has exposed students to various types of content—both constructive and harmful. Negative content such as toxic comments, body shaming, false self-image, and hate speech can pose serious risks to students’ mental health. This study aims to explore the psychological impact of such exposure among junior and senior high school students using a literature review approach. The method involved a systematic analysis of relevant academic publications from the past five years (2020–2025), focusing on the effects of negative digital content on students’ mental well-being. The findings indicate that frequent exposure to toxic comments, body shaming, unrealistic portrayals, and cyberbullying correlates with increased anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and sleep disturbances. These outcomes emphasize the need for improved digital literacy, stronger parental and educational supervision, and preventative strategies in schools to support students in navigating social media responsibly. This study is expected to provide a theoretical foundation and practical considerations for future educational and psychosocial policies addressing the mental health impacts of social media on adolescents.
