Abstract

Teaching pronunciation skills in English is an important aspect that needs to be paid attention to in the learning process. Many students have difficulty pronouncing certain sounds, such as /r/, /l/, /θ/, and /ð/. Therefore, teachers need to apply methods that are engaging, interactive, and in accordance with the needs of students. One of the methods used in this study is the tongue twister game which is considered effective in practicing pronunciation in a fun way. This study aims to describe the application of the sound repetition game method in pronunciation learning in grade VII of SMPN 1 Sitiung and to identify its advantages and weaknesses. The approach used is qualitative descriptive with a case study design. The data collection technique was carried out through observation and interviews with teachers and students of grade VII for the 2025/2026 school year. The results of the study show that this method is applied gradually, starting from giving examples by teachers to taking turns reciting practice by students. The use of media in the form of text and pictures helps students' understanding. The students' responses showed increased confidence and pronunciation ability. The learning atmosphere became more active and fun. However, some challenges were also found, such as the need for longer time and there are still students who lack confidence when speaking in front of the class.Teaching pronunciation skills in English is an important aspect that needs to be paid attention to in the learning process. Abstract

This research is based on problems in learning, namely the lack of enthusiasm of students in completing student worksheets (LKPD) and the absence of the introduction of local wisdom in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to develop E-LKPD based on local wisdom for IPAS Chapter 5 Class IV subjects, to add to the existing teaching materials at school and produce E-LKPD that is valid, practical, and effective so that it can improve student learning outcomes at SDN 02 Sungai Rumbai. This research is development research using the R&D (Research and Development) method with the ADDIE model. The sample of this development research is all fourth-grade students of SDN 02 Sungai Rumbai. Based on the research that has been carried out, namely development research, the implications obtained from this development research are E-LKPD IPAS based on Class IV Local Wisdom can help and facilitate educators in the learning process. By using E-LKPD, learning has been organized systematically and interestingly, so that the learning process is carried out effectively and efficiently. E-LKPD can arouse the enthusiasm for learning and activeness of students in learning. E-LKPD can help and facilitate educators in teaching in the classroom because E-LKPD is developed in accordance with learning steps and there are instructions for use.

Abstract

This study aims to analyzed of Figurative Language Used in selected Taylor Swift songs in the midnight album and its Contribution to English Teaching in Senior High School". The figurative language found in Taylor Swift's songs is analyzed into three types, meanings, and their contribution to English teaching. The writer used Abbrams' theory (1999) as an indicator in this study and SLA theory applied as the second theoretical for this study regarding to the beneficial and contribution of song lyrics for English teaching in teaching English as foreign language. In this study, the writer used a qualitative method. The author focuses on five types of figurative language analysis, namely hyperbole, metaphor, simile, irony, and personification. The research data were obtained from five songs in Taylor Swift's "midnight" album. The songs are "snow on the beach", "anti hero", "you're on your own kid", "bigger than the whole sky", "high infidelity". After analyzing the data, the writer found twenty-eight figurative language expressions, including thirteen hyperboles, eight metaphors, three similes, two ironies, and two personifications. Hyperbole is the most used figurative language in in selected Taylor Swift songs in the midnight album. In addition, this research contributes to the teaching of English.
