Abstract

This study aims to analyzed of Figurative Language Used in selected Taylor Swift songs in the midnight album and its Contribution to English Teaching in Senior High School". The figurative language found in Taylor Swift's songs is analyzed into three types, meanings, and their contribution to English teaching. The writer used Abbrams' theory (1999) as an indicator in this study and SLA theory applied as the second theoretical for this study regarding to the beneficial and contribution of song lyrics for English teaching in teaching English as foreign language. In this study, the writer used a qualitative method. The author focuses on five types of figurative language analysis, namely hyperbole, metaphor, simile, irony, and personification. The research data were obtained from five songs in Taylor Swift's "midnight" album. The songs are "snow on the beach", "anti hero", "you're on your own kid", "bigger than the whole sky", "high infidelity". After analyzing the data, the writer found twenty-eight figurative language expressions, including thirteen hyperboles, eight metaphors, three similes, two ironies, and two personifications. Hyperbole is the most used figurative language in in selected Taylor Swift songs in the midnight album. In addition, this research contributes to the teaching of English. The data found that this research contributes to the teaching of English

Abstract

The rapid development of science and technology affects all aspects of human life. Aspects in the field of education are one of the recipients of the impact of science and technology development. Developments in the world of education are very prominent in the digital world, especially aspects of learning media. One of the mathematics learning media that can be developed is powtoon-based animated video media. This study aims to produce products that meet valid, practical and effective criteria. The development model used is the ADDIE model with 5 stages. In this study the researchers took 17 students in class III SD Negeri 04 Sungai Rumbai as test subjects. Data was collected using validation sheets, practicality and effectiveness sheets. The validation sheet is filled in by the validator, namely a lecturer at Dharmas Indonesia University. The results of the material validity sheet obtained a percentage of 94.3%, categorized as very valid. The results of the construct/media validity sheet obtained 80% results categorized as valid, the media validity sheet obtained 95% results categorized as very valid. The lesson plan validity sheet obtained 94% results which were categorized as very valid and the question validity sheet obtained 97% results which were categorized as very valid. The results of the teacher's response practicality sheet obtained 88.9% results categorized as very practical, student response practicality sheets obtained 95% results categorized as very practical. Results Analysis of effectiveness data obtained results of 88% for students who completed and 12% for students who did not complete, so that powtoon-based animated video media was categorized as valid, practical and effective to use.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an Electronic Worksheet for Students based on Local Wisdom for the Social Sciences subject Chapter 5 in class IV. This e-LKPD aims to increase student activity, add interesting teaching materials, and improve learning outcomes so that learning objectives are achieved. This research is an R & D (Research and Development) research using the ADDIE research model. The research location was carried out at SDN 02 Sungai Rumbai, Sungai Rumbai District, Dharmasraya Regency. The research sample consisted of 18 students in class IV. The data collection instruments used were questionnaire and a 10-item multiple choice test, which had been tested for validity.The results of the research show that the effectiveness test of E-LKPD IPAS based on Local Wisdom in class IV at SDN 02 Sungai Rumbai was carried out in 3 meetings. At each meeting, students are required to complete the assignments and exercises contained in the E-LKPD. Then at the end of the meeting, students are given a test consisting of 10 multiple choice questions. After that, the author can describe the effectiveness of student learning, namely by measuring the level of achievement of the learning outcomes of class IV students at SDN 02 Sungai Rumbai. It is known that out of 18 students, 14 students were declared complete (reaching KKTP 70) with a percentage of 86% very effective. and 4 students were declared incomplete (did not reach KKTP 70) with a percentage of 5.5%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh penggunaan bahan ajar yang belum maksimal. Dalam proses pembelajaran guru hanya menggunakan bahan ajar seperti buku paket cetak pegangan guru dan peserta didik yaitu berupa LKS yang di dalamnya hanya memuat materi pembelajaran dan soal-soal latihan disertai dengan gambar yang berlatar hitam putih saja sehingga membosankan dan tidak terlalu menarik bagi peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan LKPD Mata Pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila Berbasis model Problem Based Learning yang valid, praktis, dan efektif.Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 4D yang terdiri dari 4 tahap, yaitu pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop), dan penyebaran (disseminate).Hasil validitas LKPD mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila berbasis model problem based learning divalidasi oleh 15 validator, yaitu dari keseluruhan validasi LKPD diperoleh nilai rata-rata 81,16 % dengan kategori sangat valid, validasi modul ajar diperoleh nilai rata-rata 84,25% dengan kategori sangat valid, validasi soal diperoleh nilai rata-rata 84,25% dengan kategori sangat valid. Hasil praktikalitas keterlaksanaan modul ajar untuk setiap pertemuan diperoleh rata-rata 94,45% dikategorikan sangat praktis, melalui angket respon guru oleh guru kelas V diperoleh hasil 97,5% dikategorikan sangat praktis, sedangkan melalui angket respon peserta didik diperoleh hasil rata-rata 98,84% dikategorikan sangat praktis. Hasil efektifitas yang diperoleh dari hasil tes belajar peserta didik disekolah utama diperoleh rata-rata 91,66% dikategorikan efektif, sedangkan disekolah lain melalui penyebaran uji efektivitas diperoleh hasil 83,33% dikategorikan efektif.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of student interest in reading materials presented conventionally through textbooks. Text materials are often considered boring by students due to the lack of presentation variation and minimal supporting illustrations that are engaging. As a result, students tend to be passive during lessons and struggle to comprehend the content of the reading and construct sentences that match the context of the theme. The solution is to develop an E-Module Assisted by Book Creator in the Indonesian Language subject for third-grade students at SDN 01 Sitiung that is valid, practical, and effective. This research is a Research and Development study using the ADDIE development model, which includes several stages: Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The assessment instruments were evaluated by three validators: content validator, language validator, and graphic design validator. The instrument sheets were filled out using validation sheets for the validators and practicality sheets evaluated by practitioners. The results of the development of the E-Module Assisted by Book Creator in the Indonesian Language subject for third-grade students at SDN 01 Sitiung show that the validators gave an average score of 85.48%, categorized as highly valid. The practicality score averaged 94.2%, categorized as very practical, and the effectiveness score averaged 87.4%, categorized as very effective.

Abstract

The problem of this research is the low ability of students to comprehend English vocabulary, which was identified through observation and interviews with the English subject teacher at the school. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an effect of using flashcard media on vocabulary comprehension in the second-grade English class. This research uses an experimental method with a pre-experimental design. The study was conducted at SD Negeri 10 Sitiung during the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample consisted of 17 students. The results of the independent sample t-test showed a significance of (0.000 < 0.005). It can be concluded that the use of flashcards has an effect on English vocabulary comprehension. Based on the pretest and posttest results, the use of flashcard media had a positive impact on vocabulary comprehension. Flashcards can be used by educators as one of the supporting media in the teaching and learning process and can increase student enthusiasm in participating in lessons.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that many second-grade elementary school students are still unable to read. The researcher’s effort to address this issue was to develop a learning medium in the form of word cards, aimed at increasing students’ interest in reading, particularly in the Indonesian language subject, on the topic of types of occupations, using attractive images. This study employs a research and development (R&D) methodology. The development model used is the Four-D (4D) model, which includes: Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination. In the Define stage, needs analysis, material analysis, learner characteristics analysis, and curriculum analysis were conducted. In the Design stage, instructional module and word card media designs were developed. In the Development stage, validation tests, practicality tests, and effectiveness tests were carried out. In the Dissemination stage, the developed Indonesian language word card media was distributed, limited to SDN 07 Koto Baru. The research and development process resulted in a word card learning medium for second-grade students at SDN 07 Koto Baru. The media was validated by three validators, and the average validation score of the word card media reached 89%, categorized as very valid. In terms of practicality, responses from teachers and students showed an average score of 93.82%, categorized as very practical. The effectiveness test, conducted with 21 students who used the developed word card media during learning, showed an average score of 77.99%, indicating the media is effective. It can thus be concluded that the word card media is engaging, suitable for use in the learning process, and has potential for further development.

Abstract

This research is based on problems in learning, namely the lack of enthusiasm of students in completing student worksheets (LKPD) and the absence of the introduction of local wisdom in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to develop E-LKPD based on local wisdom for IPAS Chapter 5 Class IV subjects, to add to the existing teaching materials at school and produce E-LKPD that is valid, practical, and effective so that it can improve student learning outcomes at SDN 02 Sungai Rumbai. This research is development research using the R&D (Research and Development) method with the ADDIE model. The sample of this development research is all fourth-grade students of SDN 02 Sungai Rumbai. Based on the research that has been carried out, namely development research, the implications obtained from this development research are E-LKPD IPAS based on Class IV Local Wisdom can help and facilitate educators in the learning process. By using E-LKPD, learning has been organized systematically and interestingly, so that the learning process is carried out effectively and efficiently. E-LKPD can arouse the enthusiasm for learning and activeness of students in learning. E-LKPD can help and facilitate educators in teaching in the classroom because E-LKPD is developed in accordance with learning steps and there are instructions for use.

Abstract

Penelitian ini ditulis untuk membuat pengembangan buku kosakata dasar bahasa Inggris berbasis tugas untuk siswa sekolah menengah pertama. Dalam mendalami pembelajaran bahasa inggris, para pelajar harus mengetahui dasar dari pembelajaran bahasa inggris untuk kedepannya. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan materi bahasa Inggris bagi siswa dengan valid, praktis, dan efektif. Tujuan jangka panjang penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat siswa sekolah menengah pertama mampu menguasai kosakata dasar yang ada dalam pembelajaran bahasa inggris. Buku kosakata dasar ini dikembangkan dengan menggunakan pendekatan berbasis tugas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian dan Pengembangan ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, dan Evaluate).Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa sekolah menengah pertama semester dua. Pada tahap analisis, hal ini dilakukan analisis kebutuhan dan analisis situasi. Tahap desain dilakukan dengan merancang buku kosakata dasar bahasa Inggris berbasis tugas, rencana pembelajaran, instrumen penilaian buku kosakata dasar bahasa Inggris. Tahap pengembangan dilakukan dengan pengembangan buku kosakata dasar. Tahap implementasi dilakukan penerapan buku kosakata dasar di kelas 7 sekolah menegah pertama. Terakhir, tahap evaluasi adalah evaluasi pelaksanaan setiap tahap dari model ADDIE. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan lembar validasi buku kosakata dasar, angket respon guru bahasa Inggris dan siswa kelas 7 semester 2, dan hasil tes siswa. Berdasarkan hasil di atas, materi pengajaran bahasa Inggris berdasarkan pendekatan berbasis tugas termasuk dalam valid, praktis, dan efektif kriteria dan diterapkan sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa kelas 7 semester 2. Berdasarkan validasi ahli bahasa, isi dan media diperoleh hasil validasi ahli media sebesar 75%, isi sebesar 87,5% dan bahasa sebesar 75%. Hasil wawancara terhadap guru dan siswa secara keseluruhan menunjukkan respon yang baik terhadap penggunaan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis tugas interaktif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi pendidik merasa kesulitan dalam memberikan penjelasan yang berupa contoh-contoh sehingga peserta didik kesulitan berimajinasi dalam mengeluarkan gagasan-gagasan saat proses pembelajaran dan peserta didik masih ribut ketika pendidik menjelaskan materi dikarenakan penyampaian yang monoton sehingga masih belum memaksimalkan pembelajaran dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila. Sehingga berakibat peserta didik tidak begitu tetarik dan merasa bosan dengan pembelajaran yang disampaikan. Sehingga peserta didik kurang antusias dalam pembelajaran dikelas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengembangan media pembelajaran puzzle elemen Pancasila dasar negaraku pada peserta didik kelas II SDN 18 Sitiung Kabupaten Dharmasraya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan research and development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Berdasarkan hasil validasi dari segi kegrafikan diperoleh nilai 88% (sangat valid), validasi materi 92,85% (sangat valid), pada aspek bahasa memperoleh 94,28% (sangat valid), aspek soal 83% (valid) dan pada validasi modul ajar 92% (sangat valid). Tingkat praktikalitas pengembangan media pembelajaran puzzle elemen Pancasila dasar negaraku oleh pendidik mencapai nilai rata-rata 93% (sangat praktis), dan tingkat kepraktisan pengembangan media puzzle elemen Pancasila dasar negaraku oleh peserta didik mencapai nilai rata-rata 92,03% (sangat praktis). Nilai efektifitas pengembangan media pembelajaran puzzle elemen Pancasila dasar negaraku dengan rata-rata 93,10% yang diperoleh dari hasil tes belajar oleh peserta didik. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan media pembelajaran puzzle elemen Pancasila dasar negaraku pada peserta didik kelas II SDN 18 Sitiung Kabupeten Dharmasraya pada pembelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dapat dinyatakan valid, praktis dan efektif.
