Abstract

This study analyzes the comparative teaching methods used in Islamic education, focusing on Islamic secondary schools and pesantren in Indonesia. Using a literature review approach, the research examines academic books, journal articles, and educational reports to identify the characteristics, strengths, and limitations of both traditional and modern teaching methods. The findings indicate that traditional methods are effective in strengthening students’ understanding of classical religious texts, cultivating discipline, and preserving Islamic scholarly traditions. However, these methods provide limited support for the development of critical thinking and creativity. In contrast, modern teaching methods enhance student motivation, active engagement, and the ability to relate learning materials to real-life contexts and the demands of the digital era, although their implementation is often hindered by technological limitations and teachers’ competencies. Overall, the study concludes that both methods demonstrate distinct forms of effectiveness and complement one another. Integrating traditional and modern approaches is therefore considered the most relevant strategy for developing Islamic education that is comprehensive, adaptive, and aligned with contemporary educational needs

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of deepened learning of the Qur’an and Hadith and its impact on enhancing religious literacy and character formation among students at SMPN 1 Patamuan, West Sumatra. The background of the research arises from the low interest in reading the Qur’an, limited understanding of Hadith, and the insufficient internalization of moral values in students’ daily lives. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study involved Qur’an–Hadith teachers, students, and school administrators as key informants through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis. Data were examined using Miles and Huberman’s model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that deepened learning of the Qur’an and Hadith through methods such as tadabbur, simple interpretation, value-based discussions, and religious practices significantly contributes to students’ spiritual, moral, and social development. Activities such as tadarus, short sermons, character journals, and social projects help students internalize Qur’anic values and apply them in their behavior. Moreover, teacher role modeling, a religious school culture, and collaboration with families strengthen the process of character formation. This study concludes that reflective, contextual, and practice-oriented Qur’an–Hadith learning is an effective strategy to improve students’ religious literacy and foster noble character at the junior secondary school level. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for schools in developing more transformative and applicable Islamic education models.

Abstract

The formation of students' religious character in the era of globalization requires a comprehensive approach that integrates the cultivation of religious values in school life and deepens understanding of Islamic teachings through the study of the Qur'an and Hadith.This literature review analyzes strategies for developing a religious culture in schools and effective methods of teaching the Qur'an and Hadith at the high school/vocational school level. The results show that religious culture is formed through the internalization of values involving all components of the school, including routine religious activities, teacher role models, and the integration of religious values into learning.Effective Al-Qur'an Hadith learning must be tailored to the characteristics of critically thinking teenagers, including in-depth tajwid, Ulumul Qur'an, Ulumul Hadith, thematic interpretation, and contextualization of verses and hadiths with modern life. A combination of structural, active, technology-based, and project-based approaches has been proven to improve students' understanding and practice. The synergy between religious culture and quality Al-Qur'an Hadith learning produces a generation that is faithful, knowledgeable, noble, and ready to face global challenges.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis penerapan Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah pada mata pelajaran Akidah Akhlak di MTs Al Hidayah Purwasaba Banjarnegara. Penelitian kualitatif lapangan ini mencakup perencanaan dengan menganalisis capaian pembelajaran, membuat alur tujuan pembelajaran, dan merancang modul ajar. Materi akhlak dikaitkan dengan permasalahan nyata siswa. Pelaksanaan penerapan Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah pada mata pelajaran Akidah Akhlak di MTs Al Hidayah Purwasaba Banjarnegara orientasi masalah, mengorganisasikan siswa, membimbing pengalaman individu/kelompok, mengembangkan dan menyajikan hasil, menganalisis dam mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah. Evaluasi penerapan Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah pada mata pelajaran Akidah Akhlak di MTs Al Hidayah Purwasaba Banjarnegara evaluasi yang dilakukan menggunakan asesmen formatif dengan teknik observasi. Asesmen ini diterapkan selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung yaitu keterlibatan siswa dalam proses memecahkan masalah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think pair share (TPS) dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kebumen. Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS ini adalah model pembelajaran yang dirancang untuk mempengaruhi pola interaksi peserta didik dalam bekerja sama dengan melalui tiga tahapan yakni think (berpikir), pair (berpasangan), dan share (berbagi). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, yang melibatkan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS memberikan dampak positif dalam proses pembelajaran. Pembelajaran ini mengajarkan peserta didik untuk lebih interaktif dan percaya diri dalam bekerja sama. Selain itu, penggunaan model pembelajaran ini juga mempermudah peserta didik untuk menemukan jawaban dari permasalahan/persoalan yang ada serta mempermudah guru dalam penyampaian materi. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi pengembangan model pembelajaran serupa di mata pelajaran lainnya dan memberikan kontribusi terhadap peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di sekolah.
