Abstract

The Islamic finance industry in Indonesia is currently a global concern, one of which is financial institutions, so productivity measurement is essential for BPRS in Indonesia. This study tries to analyze the BCC model as a basic model to see the level of productivity in 92 BPRS using the Malmquist productivity index, both in terms of changes in efficiency and changes in technology during the six-year observation period (2016-2021) using the Malmquist Index. There are several findings from this study. First, the overall level of productivity in BPRS shows an increase, and it is known that changes in efficiency and technology affect the increase in productivity of BPRS. Furthermore, in the analysis of each BPRS, it is known that the productivity of the BPRS fluctuates from year to year. Second, the regional study between Java and Non-Java found that BPRS in Java has higher productivity levels than BPRS outside Java, considering that Java is the center of the Indonesian economy and the impact of high technological changes on BPRS in Java. Third, the following finding is related to the productivity of BPRS before and after the Covid-19 pandemic, which showed a decline during the Covid-19 pandemic. Still, the decline was not significant when viewed from the results of statistical tests. Then based on the analysis of the Malmquist Index quadrant, it shows that the BPRS dominates quadrant 2 with the category of high technology and low efficiency, namely back to 25 BPRS, then followed by quadrant 4 with the type of technology and low efficiency, opening 24 BPRS, next is quadrant 3 with a total of 23 BPRS and quadrant one which has the highest category reaches 20 BPRS.

Abstract

Sustainable wellness tourism is one of the tourism segments that is growing rapidly as global awareness of health, well-being, and environmental sustainability increases. This research aims to map the development of global research related to sustainable wellness tourism and identify key themes and future research opportunities. The method used was a descriptive qualitative approach through meta-analysis and bibliometrics-based literature studies on 237 Scopus indexed journal articles. The analysis was performed using the VOSviewer software to visualize the keyword, author, and research cluster maps. The results of the analysis show that sustainable wellness tourism research is grouped into seven main clusters, namely the socio-economic impact of health tourism, the competitiveness of sustainable wellness destinations, wellness tourism during health crises, the integration of ecotourism and sustainability, community-based wellness tourism, cultural and recreational wellness tourism, and the spa tourism economy. These findings confirm that sustainable wellness tourism not only contributes to improving the health and well-being of tourists, but also plays a strategic role in local economic development, environmental conservation, and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This research makes a conceptual contribution by presenting a comprehensive research map as well as recommendations for future research directions that are more integrative and sustainability-based.

Abstract

Temporary waqf (waqf muaqqat) is one of the important innovations in Islamic social finance that offers flexibility in the use of assets without eliminating the basic principles of waqf. This research aims to map the development of academic studies on temporary waqf and identify the main themes and future research opportunities. The method used was a bibliometric study and meta-analysis of 23 Scopus indexed journal articles that discussed the topic of temporary waqf. The analysis was performed using VOSviewer software to map the relationships of keywords, authors, and research clusters. The results of the analysis show that the research on temporary waqf is concentrated in five main clusters, namely: (1) temporary waqf for sustainable development, (2) temporary family waqf model, (3) temporary cash waqf investment, (4) temporary cash waqf deposits in Islamic banking, and (5) temporary waqf for refugee and humanitarian financing. These findings confirm that temporary waqf has great potential as a medium-term financing instrument that is adaptive, inclusive, and in line with maqasid al-shariah. This research contributes to enriching the contemporary waqf literature by presenting a comprehensive research map and providing directions for policy development and further research related to the management of temporary waqf in the modern era.
