Abstract

This article presents the results of an international community service program conducted collaboratively by faculty and students of the Master’s Program in Islamic Education Management at IAIN Palangka Raya. The program aimed to provide training and assistance in scientific writing at the Institut Darul Hadits Lil Irtsin Nabawi Tarim, Hadramaut, Yemen. The primary issue faced by the students at this institution was a lack of understanding of academic writing, due to the absence of relevant coursework. The objective of this assistance was to enhance the students' skills in preparing scientific papers. The program received positive and enthusiastic feedback from the institution's leadership and faculty. Results indicate that students still require further guidance on research methodology, word selection, and structuring academic papers. Such international community service programs can be implemented in various locations targeting students who need similar support and can benefit Islamic educational institutions at both national and international levels.

Abstract

The leadership crisis in Indonesia has become an increasingly concerning issue, marked by increasing corruption, weak law enforcement, and declining public welfare. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature approach, reviewing various relevant literature and previous studies. The results of the research on Leadership in Indonesia are currently facing a crisis in the application of the core values of Islamic leadership, such as trust, justice, and social responsibility. Although Islamic teachings emphasize the importance of safeguarding the people's trust and acting fairly, widespread practices of corruption and injustice show that these values are often overlooked. In addition, the neglect of environmental sustainability and the rights of indigenous peoples reflects a lack of social responsibility from leaders, who are more concerned with short-term political and economic interests. Therefore, to achieve effective leadership and integrity, there needs to be a stronger effort to apply Islamic leadership principles in decision-making and resource management, for the welfare of the community and environmental sustainability

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare quality concepts from the Qur'an and quality management experts such as Frederick W. Smith, W. Edwards Deming, Michael Sallis, and Joseph Juran. The research highlights that, although originating from different contexts, both perspectives emphasize continuous improvement, holistic quality, and commitment to excellence. In the Qur'an, quality is closely related to the principle of ihsan—doing good and striving for the best in all aspects, including work, worship, and social interactions, integrating moral, spiritual, and social dimensions. Meanwhile, the quality philosophies of the experts focus on systematic processes, customer satisfaction, and organizational involvement. This study employs a library research method to systematically review relevant literature and extract core principles from both sources. The findings reveal that integrating Qur'anic values with modern quality management philosophies offers a comprehensive framework that can enhance individual and organizational performance, especially in educational and industrial sectors. This integration supports the development of ethical, competent, and competitive individuals and institutions. The study contributes to the discourse on quality management by bridging spiritual and contemporary approaches, offering practical implications for implementing quality improvements in diverse settings.

Abstract

The quality of graduates is a crucial benchmark for assessing the effectiveness of educational institutions in responding to contemporary demands. This study explores the implementation of graduate quality standards at two distinct institutions: Pondok Pesantren Al-Busthomi Nahdlatul Wathan in Sampit and SMAS Purnama in Palangka Raya. Utilizing a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research highlights institutional strategies and challenges in meeting national education goals. Findings indicate that Al-Busthomi emphasizes the integration of Islamic and general education through character building, Qur'an memorization, and structured spiritual routines. In contrast, SMAS Purnama prioritizes academic excellence, digital literacy, and character education grounded in school values. Both institutions encounter obstacles such as limited teaching staff, facility gaps, and student diversity. To address these, they employ teacher training programs, character-based digital learning, and collaborative efforts with parents. This study contributes to the discourse on quality assurance in Islamic and general education by demonstrating how localized strategies can align with national education standards while accommodating contextual uniqueness.
