Abstract

Indonesia's economic progress is experiencing rapid expansion, marked by growth across multiple sectors, particularly in the franchise industry. Amid increasingly fierce competition among similar businesses, companies are required to formulate and implement diverse strategies to anticipate and overcome competitive threats. This [A1] *[A2] study aims to analyze the influence of environmental factors, wage systems, coordination, and worker productivity on the performance of completion time for government building construction projects in Pangkalpinang City. Using the multiple linear regression method, this study found that these factors simultaneously contributed 85.4% to project completion. The analysis results show that the wage factor is the dominant factor with an influence contribution of 72.59%. Therefore, wage system management strategy is the main step in improving the efficiency of project completion time. The proposed solution to optimize the wage system includes the provision of skills-based wages, work duration-based compensation, achievement-based pay, work type differentiation, and the provision of incentives that encourage worker productivity. The results of this study are expected to provide insights for project managers in improving the effectiveness of completion time for government building construction projects.

Abstract

Padang City Supermarket Phase VII is one of the traditional trading centers that has been revitalized to improve attractiveness, comfort, and service quality for visitors. However, low visitor numbers remain a challenge, so it is important to analyze locational factors, service quality, and promotional strategies and their influence on visitor interest. This study aims to examine the influence of location and service quality on visitor interest, with promotional strategies as intervening variables. The research used a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 30 respondents who visited Phase VII Supermarket. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The study results show that service quality has a significant effect on visitor interest, while location has no direct effect. In addition, promotional strategies were shown to act as a mediating variable in the relationship between location and visitor interest, although they are not effective in mediating the influence of service quality. These findings confirm that improving service quality and implementing appropriate promotional strategies can strengthen visitor interest, while also providing input for market managers and local governments in formulating more effective market development policies. In conclusion, the success of traditional market revitalization depends not only on physical development but also on service quality and promotional strategies that can create a positive shopping experience for visitors.

Abstract

The quality of profits acts as a mediator in conflicts of interest between management and capital owners, with its main function as an indicator of performance and the basis for investment decision-making. The pressure to maintain a positive performance image can prompt management to respond to tax expenses, profit fluctuations, and manage cash strategically, potentially impacting the reliability of financial information. This study analyzes the influence of tax expenses, profit volatility, and cash holding on the quality of profits of companies in the basic and chemical industries sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange as industries experiencing a significant performance surge in 2023–2024. This phenomenon was statistically analyzed in a quantitative approach of panel data regression analysis of 165 observations from 33 companies, using Common Effect Model (CEM). The results show that separately, tax expense has a negative and significant effect on profit quality, while profit volatility and cash holding have no significant effect. Simultaneously, all three variables have a significant effect, with tax burden as the dominant factor. The results of the test imply the importance of focusing on corporate fiscal pressures as it can impact the integrity of earnings reporting, which is closely related to investor perceptions and decisions.

Abstract

Abstract

General Background: Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a key driver of economic development and local income generation, particularly through distribution channels that connect products with consumers. Specific Background: In Pekanbaru City, souvenir centers function not only as retail destinations for tourists but also as platforms for distributing local MSME products and promoting regional culture. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies largely focus on general MSME performance using quantitative approaches, with limited attention to the specific role of souvenir centers in local economic ecosystems. Aims: This study aims to analyze the role of souvenir centers in increasing MSME income and to identify obstacles affecting partnership performance. Results: Using a descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and NVivo analysis, the findings reveal that souvenir centers contribute to MSME income growth by 15–50%, expand market access, support digital promotion, strengthen production capacity, improve product quality and standardization, and provide distribution platforms without initial costs. However, challenges include cash flow constraints due to consignment systems, limited human resources, production capacity issues, incomplete product legality, and competitive pressures. Novelty: This study introduces an independent mapping of souvenir center ecosystems, including location, product diversity, and accessibility, which were previously undocumented. Implications: The findings suggest the need for improved payment systems, legal assistance, and capacity building to ensure sustainable MSME development and provide insights for policymakers and practitioners in strengthening local distribution networks. Highlights• Income gains reach 15–50% through structured retail distribution channels• Market expansion achieved via tourism-based consumer reach• Partnership barriers arise from consignment schemes and operational limitations KeywordsSouvenir Centers; MSMEs Income Growth; Local Distribution Channels; Market Access Expansion; Product Standardization

Abstract

This study aims to describe and evaluate the principal's leadership strategies in conflict management at the Hayatuddiyar Islamic Boarding School Pekanbaru, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors. The study employs a descriptive-evaluative qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews with five informants—consisting of the principal, teachers, educational staff, and female students—complemented by observation and documentation. The results indicate that the leadership strategies implemented include strengthening open communication through a "normalizing mandatory reporting" policy, participatory decision-making based on deliberation (musyawarah), and delegation of authority according to standard operating procedures. Furthermore, the principal applies mediation and tabayyun mechanisms, personal approaches, post-conflict evaluation, moral guidance (character building), educational sanctions, and the ishlah process for character restoration. Evaluatively, these strategies are considered effective in resolving conflicts constructively and maintaining justice. The primary supporting factors are stakeholder cooperation and effective communication, while identified inhibitors include miscommunication caused by personal closeness exceeding professional boundaries, protracted conflicts, students' closed character, dishonesty, and external environmental influences. This study concludes that adaptive leadership based on Islamic boarding school values is capable of creating harmonious organizational stability.
