Abstract

When used as a promotional tool for tourist destinations, such as Ngurbloat Beach in Southeast Maluku, social media holds immense potential to increase visitor numbers significantly. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, and data is collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that social media, particularly Instagram and Facebook, effectively enhances the beach's visibility; however, it faces challenges such as limited human resources, inadequate technological infrastructure, and a lack of coordination among stakeholders. It is suggested that human resources training be strengthened, urgent improvements to infrastructure prioritized, and stronger collaboration between the government and local communities should be encouraged. With these steps, Ngurbloat Beach can become a more recognized premier tourist destination, attracting more visitors

Abstract

This community service activity aims to support the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum in schools with limited access to technology through assistance and development of offline learning media. This program involves training and workshops for teachers to improve their understanding of the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum and their ability to develop and use creative and effective offline learning media. The results of this activity show an increase in teacher competence in implementing the curriculum, developing various innovative offline learning media such as learning modules, educational posters, and simple teaching aids, as well as preparing learning plans that are more adaptive to local conditions. In addition, interesting and interactive offline learning media have succeeded in increasing student participation and interest in learning. The evaluation of this activity indicates that assistance and development of offline learning media is a strategic step in improving the quality of education in areas with limited access to technology, so that it can contribute to equalizing the quality of education throughout Indonesia.

Abstract

Spatial mapping training for teachers and students in island regions was conducted to strengthen schools’ capacity to understand environmental risks through geospatial technology utilization. This activity was motivated by limited data access and low spatial literacy in coastal schools vulnerable to disasters. It aimed to enhance teachers’ and students’ skills in identifying, mapping, and analyzing potential hazards around school environments. The participatory and collaborative approach involved training sessions, field practices, and digital mentoring using open-source software. The results showed significant improvements in spatial literacy, risk analysis ability, and school autonomy in developing local risk maps. The community-based spatial training model strengthened school disaster preparedness and fostered an inter-school collaborative network. This approach provides scientific contribution to applied disaster education. Its implication encourages local governments and educational institutions to replicate similar programs sustainably.
