Abstract

The aim of this study is to design a battery charging system using solar panels, integrated with an IoT-based monitoring system to improve efficiency and ease of supervision. The system utilizes the photovoltaic effect to convert solar energy into electrical energy, which is then stored in a battery through the regulation of a solar charge controller. The main components in this design include a solar panel, lead-acid battery, ESP32 microcontroller, current and voltage sensors, and the Blynk application for remote monitoring. The research method involves several stages, including the design of hardware such as solar panels, current and voltage sensors, and a step-down regulator, as well as software development using the Blynk platform and ESP32 programming. Test results show that the system is capable of achieving charging efficiencies between 89.45% and 99.57%, with optimal performance under clear weather and maximum sunlight conditions. The IoT system performs well up to a distance of 10–15 meters, with an average data transmission delay of less than 1.5 seconds. Therefore, this device proves to be effective as an independent battery charging and energy monitoring solution in locations without permanent electricity access.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pelayanan jasa Laporan Kedatangan dan Keberangkatan Kapal (LK3) terhadap peningkatan jumlah kedatangan kapal Ro-Ro (Roll-On/Roll-Off) di Pelabuhan Tanjung Perak. Pelayanan LK3 merupakan komponen krusial dalam proses clearance in dan clearance out kapal yang memengaruhi kelancaran arus logistik dan efisiensi operasional pelabuhan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode analisis regresi linear sederhana. Data diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada 65 responden yang terlibat langsung dalam pelayanan LK3, seperti petugas pelabuhan dan operator kapal. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pelayanan LK3 berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap jumlah kedatangan kapal Ro-Ro, dengan nilai koefisien regresi sebesar 0,587 dan tingkat signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa peningkatan kualitas pelayanan LK3, termasuk efisiensi waktu, keakuratan jadwal, dan kepuasan pengguna jasa, secara langsung mendorong peningkatan trafik kapal. Selain itu, implementasi sistem digital Inaportnet turut memperkuat efektivitas layanan melalui integrasi antarinstansi. Studi ini menegaskan pentingnya optimalisasi pelayanan administratif dalam mendukung kinerja pelabuhan serta memperkuat daya saing sektor maritim nasional.

Abstract

PT Ekalya Purnamasari operates in the maritime services sector, primarily providing time charter crew boats to support maritime industry operations. However, in practice, vessel operations often encounter issues that disrupt performance and service efficiency. These obstacles can delay operations, increase maintenance costs, and result in contract breaches. Therefore, the objective of this study is to identify the key factors that contribute to the inefficiency of vessel operations. This research employs a qualitative approach involving observation, documentation, and interviews, with data analysis conducted using the Fishbone diagram (5M+1E). The findings reveal that the two main constraints hindering vessel operations are technical issues and human resource limitations. The shortage of crew members and delays in crew rotation prevent vessels from operating on schedule. Additionally, unplanned maintenance and main engine failures contribute to operational delays. Furthermore, inefficiencies are exacerbated by issues in spare parts procurement and a lack of coordination between departments. This study provides an in-depth understanding of the factors that hinder the operational efficiency of PT Ekalya Purnamasari’s time charter crew boats. These insights can be utilized by the company to develop strategic measures for improving its operational efficiency.

Abstract

Fresh water is one of the essential needs in ship operations, used for daily needs such as cooking, bathing, and washing, as well as supporting the function of equipment in the engine room. Fresh water distribution on ships is generally carried out using hydrophore tanks, which are pressurized tanks that utilize compressed air to distribute water throughout the system. However, in practice, hydrophore tanks often face problems in the pressure system due to reduced air volume, which can disrupt the smooth distribution of fresh water and reduce the ship's work efficiency. To address these problems, this study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method by designing an Internet of Things (loT)-based control and monitoring system. The system is designed through the integration of pressure sensors, water level sensors, ESP32 microcontrollers, solenoid valves, and buzzers. Testing is carried out in stages through static tests, dynamic tests, and actual integrated testing to ensure system reliability. The test results show that the system is able to monitor air pressure and water level in real-time, as well as control solenoid valves and pumps automatically when the pressure is below the minimum limit or exceeds the maximum threshold. Sensor data was successfully transmitted via WiFi to a web server and Android app, allowing ship operators to perform remote monitoring and receive notifications when overpressure or underpressure occurs. Thus, this loT-based hydrophore pressure control system has proven effective in maintaining pressure stability and improving the efficiency of freshwater distribution on board ships. This system also has the potential to be further developed by adding a cloud-based data storage feature for more comprehensive long-term pressure trend analysis.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the performance of TRT from 2021 to 2023, identify the causes and impacts of TRT that exceeds the standard set time. The research design used is descriptive research with a mixed methods approach (qualitative )The type of data used is qualitative and quantitative data presented in numbers and sentences that support the author's opinion in analyzing this research. Data sources in this research are divided into primary data sources obtained from interviews, observations and literature studies and secondary data sources obtained from company data in the form of throughput data, TRT for 2021 to 2023, printed books, journals and the internet. The results of this research are that the TRT performance at PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya is good because in 2021 to 2023 the dominant number of trucks at the TRT was less than 30 minutes, although there could be indications of a decline in performance. This decline in performance is indicated by an increase in the number of trucks from 2021 to 2023 on TRT of more than 30 minutes. The causes of TRT exceeding the standard determination time are density factors in the stacking yard, equipment factors (service and availability), human resource factors and natural factors. The negative impact of TRT that exceeds the standard set time is disruption of loading and unloading activities, internal company losses and decreased customer loyalty. Suggestions that can be used in overcoming TRT (Truck Round Time) problems are that good coordination is needed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), good improvisation from human resources, systems and equipment as well as yard planners carrying out various plan innovations by shortening slots so that RTG movements are not too displacement length.
