Abstract

In the manufacturing of a device, several types of testing are performed. Testing must be done to ensure that the designed device is completely safe for long-term use and meets existing standards. There are several tests conducted, one of which is the Hydrotest. This Hydrotest is conducted to test whether the designed device experiences leakage, particularly at weld joints, by filling pressurized water into a test device and holding it for a certain period. In this study, we aim to conduct a Hydrotest on a Pressure Vessel to see if the designed Pressure Vessel experiences leakage in its construction. From the results of the testing conducted, it was found that the designed Pressure Vessel did not experience leakage, particularly at each weld joint. Based on the Pressure and Temperature Chart Recorder, the graph indicates that there is no pressure drop, and the temperature remains within a safe range.

Abstract

A fuel cell converts the energy in the chemical reaction of a continuously supplied fuel and its oxidizing agent into electrical energy. Fuel cells are used in various industries, including the automotive industry. In this context, fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) have emerged as a promising alternative that offers zero emissions and competitive performance. This work was conducted to obtain a fuel cell design and determine the fuel cell modeling that suits the needs of FCEVs. The Pahl and Beitz method with QFD is used. It was found that the type of fuel cell used is PEMFC (Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell) with platinum electrode material, and the fuel used is hydrogen on a small scale. Overall, fuel cell dimensions were 175 x 259 x 175 mm, and the number of fuel cell stacks that can be arranged is 35. With this geometry, the factor of safety value obtained at the stack fuel cell is 26, and at the end plate fuel cell 2.4, this value indicates that the PEMFC design is safe. Then, the output voltage is 50.55 V, and the output current is 25.27 A, so the power generated is 1.277 kW.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has reached various regions in Indonesia, including Sumberjaya Village, where internet access—particularly through smartphones—is widely available. While digital media offers numerous benefits, it also presents potential risks. Therefore, understanding appropriate usage guidelines, communication ethics, and information filtering is essential to minimize negative impacts. This community outreach program employed a participatory group method consisting of four main stages: observation, presentation, focus group discussion (FGD), and evaluation. The results of the program indicate that participants have significantly improved their digital literacy across three core dimensions: technological proficiency, cognitive awareness, and ethical behavior. These enhancements are expected to contribute positively to the community’s overall quality of life and resilience in navigating digital environments.

Abstract

In an increasingly competitive industrial environment, effective maintenance strategies are critical to ensure optimal machine performance and minimize downtime. This report focuses on the implementation of preventive maintenance in the cold saw area at PT. KBK, a steel production company. Preventive maintenance procedures were carried out to sustain machine reliability, particularly focusing on components such as the roll table, bolt coupling motor translation, sliding rails, and hydraulic motors. The report outlines the preventive maintenance schedule, inspection processes, and key findings during the maintenance period. The most frequently encountered issue was the deterioration of the saw blade, affecting cutting quality and operational efficiency. Contributing factors to these issues include human error, material hardness, improper maintenance methods, and machine age. A fishbone diagram analysis was used to determine root causes of failures, highlighting areas for improvement in maintenance practices. The study concludes that consistent preventive maintenance is essential to reduce machine failures, enhance productivity, and improve product quality. Recommendations are provided to enhance the maintenance process, including increased use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and more stringent inspection protocols.

Abstract

Packaging is one of the important needs in the food business that is difficult to avoid. Developing packaging products for food is an important thing that must be done to maintain cleanliness, health and the environment. Packaging waste that uses plastic as the basic material causes environmental pollution because it is not easily decomposed. Green packaging is one form of packaging that uses environmentally friendly materials such as rice straw. Bio-foam from straw combined with PVA, Glycerin, corn starch and distilled water is made into sheets for packaging. This sheet is tested with the addition of a coating derived from gondorukem which comes from plants. With this coating, it is expected to increase the tensile strength and hydrophobicity of the material surface. Testing was carried out with variations in the mixture of gondorukem and alcohol as the basic coating material, namely gondorukem concentrations of 20%, 40% and 60%. The tensile test results showed that a coating with a concentration of 60% gondorukem produced the highest tensile strength value. The increase in tensile strength reached 102% of the tensile strength of the sheet without gondorukem coating.
